I was eating a ton of nuts, seeds when I first became raw (prepared deli raw dishes). I rarely felt bad before I went raw, but I ate a really healthy, clean organic diet. I think I over did it with the nuts and seeds. Also, at the beginning of my raw diet, I drank 32 oz of orange juice a day, and then my hair started to fall out. Never happended before, so maybe it was a mix of too much of a good

424. Acidic
Today, while waiting at the health food store for my wheat grass shot, an Iridologist told me that I was acidic, by observing my eyes. Not sure how accurate this is, but if he is indeed right, what steps should I take to heal this condition? Thanks!

Singinraw, you can order them online too. I'd get the "organic young coconuts", because the commercial coconuts are usually dipped in fungicides.

Jelly coconut is a young coconut. The white coconut inside is soft like jelly. As a coconut ages, it gets firmer and thicker. I think that is what CC is talking about.

Bryan, I see your point and I love oranges! I was asking about the medicinal value of coconuts, for thyroid health, candida, ect. I'd rather have a little young coconut, not indulging though, rather than the coconut oil, for the reasons you've pointed out above. While I've cut down on my fats drastically, I still have an avocado each day, which is about 1/3 of what I use to eat.

I've been reading living food books lately, and many of the authors approve of and indulge in miso and raw fermented soy in their recipes. Anyone here using raw fermented soy? Or is soy the devil, no matter what?

Tho, I wonder about coconut fats and lauric acid in virgin coconut oil and that it kills lipid-coated bacteria but does not appear to harm the friendly intestinal bacteria. The MCFA (medium chain fatty acids) in coconut oil also have antifungal properties so not only will they kill disease-causing bacteria and leave good bacteria alone, they will also kill candida and other fungi in the intestin

Oh, that's terrible, Singinraw. You sound young and it's hard for younger people to deal with rejection. They just don't "get it" yet. Maybe someday they will learn. I too, when I was a teen, turned into a health nut because of health problems. I was teased by family & friends, too. When people get sick and their health starts dwindeling, then they will listen. Just be confident in

When I buy greens, it's a different one, so the dandelion greens are next. I keep telling my friends and family that green smoothies are hip and cool.. and most of us want to be hip..haha.. bribery has been used in worst ways. I make them fruit & greens smoothies and they love them.

What are the healthiest greens? How about baby greens? Or green sprouts? Green grasses? I know that our soil these days is depleted, so are greens are not as packed with nutrients that they once were. Thanks!
