Is the child allergic to seeds? I have a friend who is VERY allergic to nuts, but not seeds. She eats pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds, without any problems.

Yogamama, your "Muffins with Mom" story is sweet! And I agree with you, that it is LESS restrictive and time consuming for me. I HATE doing dishes. It's so much easier to clean up after making a raw meal, compared to a cooked meal. When I do prepare a cooked meal, it is something that requires very little preparation, from scratch.

All 3 ways are best, I think! Raw greens salad (arugula, romaine, and other greens), with raw black olives, tomatoes, tahini salad dressing (tahini, lemon juice, garlic and virgin olive oil, blended),purple onion, avocado, sprinkle a few sunflower and/or pumpkin seeds on top, and what ever else suits your fancy = heavenly delicous!

Strange but true... I was raised with my grandparents after my moms divorce and my mom, brothers and me moved in with my grandparents. My grandmother cooked everything to mush. It was gross to me, even as a little girl. When I became a teen, I started to eat healthy and became a vegetarian. I would eat crispy fresh, veggies and fruit, something I craved as a child growing up, but rarely was aroun

I'm an RN, and the little old dying people eat a raw salad everyday... and look where they are with all their diseases and senility. A salad a day never cured any of them or made them pounce into good health. You need to be a little more aggressive than that, buddie, and I think eating a salad a day for starters is for pansies... In today's society anyways, with all the cooked junk people eat

I want to start eating more greens. In your opinion, which is better, a green smoothie (greens with fruit) or juicing the veggies?

Confuzed is not a teen with zinc related penile underdevelopement. He is a old fart, who is very jealous of someone/some people here, and is zinc deficiant, impotent and on Viagra, because he is eating a SAD diet. More likely he is on Viagra too, for his "penile problems". I can't understand why, when people like confuzed come on here, everyone just doesn't ignore them 100%. How can

Yes, I mix it up a bit... I just finished a jar of raw coconut butter, a tbsp a day, 1 tbsp of pumpkin seed, 1 avocado, somedays a little flax. Varity, to me is healthy. I also like raw sesame, sunflower and walnut butter. Sometimes it's soaked and sprouted nuts and seeds.

My cholesterol is super low, always has been. Really, my main reason for asking is vanity. I'm wondering if it will give me cellulite, if I eat too much fat, or if it's raw fat, it will lower the body fat on a woman. Thanks

The American Heart Association recommends women have 40-50 grams of fat a day, and men, 60-70 grams a day. I love avocodoes and eat one a day. That is 30 grams of fat there. Plus I have 2 tbsps of raw nut or seed butter (Pumpkin or sesame, usually.) everyday, and that is 20 grams of fat there. Plus I eat my rice bran (as a supplement for B vitimans, which has helped me tremendously feel healt

Hi Diana, Thanks for your reply. What is the name and brand of your green drink? I just bought a supplement called MegaFood Blood Builder. I called the company and asked if they had testimonials and they said people have been very happy with the supplement because it is iron fed yeast, so it's a easily assimulated food iron. I'm also taking blackstrap molasses with raw apple cider vin

I'm wondering if non-organic commercial watermelon has red color added to it. I don't know how they'd do it, but when I ate organic watermelon, my lips did not turn red, and when I eat non-organic watermelon, my lips turn red.

Veganlife, I like what you are saying here. Most of us I think are trying this because it seems to be paying off more so than not. I think the trick here for most is, some do better with 100% and I wish that were me, and some do better with... say 75% like me, or 80%, 90% or whatever. I do love my cooked warm beans and rice with raw salsa and avocado.

I never said that! you are confusing me with another. No one here takes you serious bc your motive is too harass because you have way to much time on your hands, and somehow, this is the only thing you have to do in your life, when you are not sleeping. Good night!

I personally do not disagree with you, tho balance is the key: 75% raw 25% cooked is my own personal motto that works best for me and seems more realistic for me.

Ergocalcifero is a vegan source that I believe occurs naturally in fungi and in fish oils. Just buy the Ergocalcifero vegan source supplement. Unless you are die-hard-core raw vegan, buy a ticket to a sunny location every winter.

I'm a vegetarian, not a vegan, so I don't have to worry about that. The only source of Vit D for a vegan I know of is the sun.

You can still eat them raw without soaking them and they are still good for you. However, if you soak them first, and maybe even sprout them if you can, you will get more out of them. Points made: Raw and unsoaked= good for you. Raw and soaked= even better for you. Raw, soaked and spouted= the best for you. I personally eat goraw.com nuts and seeds because I'm too lazy to mess with t

Raw nuts and seeds are live foods! Fruitarians even eat them. Sunflower seeds are also high in zinc. You seem to be contridicting yourself. You feel like eating a hamberger, but won't eat live raw nuts and seeds. I think you have a motive hear to get your kicks and not really be a raw foodist. Just my opinion!
