Similar to Karennd here. My kids are a bit younger (8 and 2) and eat what is served at school and daycare for lunch. I try to make up with a healthy dinner and snacks though. The older one "has to" eat a big plate of apples and carrots or what he just have when he comes home. My goodness, it seems all kids come home starved from school here, mine too! Just not enough time, and too much

I have gotten anxiety attacks similar to those described above since my first pregnancy. However, I'd been high raw already a 3 good years before that. Still, 9 years later I struggle with it, but raw DEFINITELY makes it better. The symptoms vary...some phases, I can't stand in a line. Don't wanna go through a tunnel. Can't drive fast. Can't drive slow. Can't stand crowds. Don't want to leave

I think the impression of her being hyper is a) pressure/stage fright from being on TV and nervousness b) trying to say things that are important to her, knowing that TV host is only gonna give her 5 seconds to do that befor laughing it off.

I think she looked good but it was just too little time for too much to say..? But still, way better than if she wasn't there! If I would not have known of raw foods then, maybe this would have interested me. On the other hand, there are probably some dull people who conclude she only lives of pomegranate juice and blueberries. All in all, I am very much OK with how she represents rawfoodism, it

I had the same sort of pattern with both pregnancies: started out striving for 100% raw to really minimize the ickiness that I felt. I never vomited etc. but faitgue and brain fog were killing me. Then, after that phase was done with I felt better and drifted off to cooked...after a while, I got backaches and other minor ailments and that had me jump back on the wagon. After my children were deli

My older one nursed till almost three but he was still a very sensitive guy healthwise. I'm still sure it would have been worse if I formula fed him. He's 8 now, so in the range of the child of that clip...trying real hard but can't imagine him breastfeeding My younger one turns 2 in a month and he loves food, loves eating and stopped being interested in the boob recently. If he wants to nurs

I used to be depressed whenever I went on the pill. Esp. the first cycle. I was a robot, that functioned somehow, Each time I tried again, I felt worse. Now I'm married and I'm glad that my otherwise SAD husband agrees I should not use it (we use other ways). I've seen ads on TV ow about "Yaz" and wonder if that is worth trying but then again, the pill is a huge intervention with my b

If you're "scared of" fruitarianism and just try to prove yourself wrong...AND have had bad personal experience with it, why do you still want to pursue it? Not that there is anything wrong with fruitarianism as such. Maybe you want to try a more greens based diet with nut butters to satisfy at first, and then move up to the more fruity stuff...

I agree, go with your intuition. Interestingly, I go to a japanese shiatsu guy every once in a while. Once when I had backpain I went there and he asked me if I don't have any stomach or digestion pains, he said he could feel that from my back. He then kind of pushed into a spot on my stomach and sure enough it hurt like hell (which it is not supposed to do). I didn't have any conclusion from t

Still nowadays I really am upset that my parents did not even notice that me and my sister consumed so many salt sticks /pretzels that I remember I got really bad headaches. Still we'd eat them all day when school was not on (we don't have a big summerbreak as it is custom in the US but a few weeks off every so often during the year, seasonally). So we'd sit around eating pretzel sticks for hours

Funny, never thought abt the blender. I use it at around 7.30, but they have been up by then anyways. Of course, weekends, I'll use it later. They moved out and the unit below (duplex) is empty so the past days I took great joys in freely vacuuming early morning or late at night - because THAT's what I felt guilty about ....

Geeze I just suppressed my laughter so hard about the pretzels and Sprite and the liver pancakes. The pancake thing is a strategy I use too in different ways, it's been "perfected into an artform" by this chef, she published a book about it "The sneaky chef". Mmmmh, used to love cow tongue as a child

Sadly, on another board I frequent, many times young women with an anorexic tendency show up and I am worried about them practically abusing the raw food lifestyle to nurture their addiction. I have been a borderline bulimic in the past, however that was before knowing about the way of eating raw foods. I am not sure if one has to do with the other. What I know from myself and others is that raw

109. Re: Enema
How many colonics did you get recently? Isn't it harmful to do too many? I'd be feeling so drained. Water from small home use enema bottles only reach up into the lower part of the bowel and of course the quantity of water is only a fraction. If I do them, I get a fleet enema bottle from the story and fill it with water. I have read in two rawfood books (German though so I can't give an exact

I never had a chance to hook up with a vegan, not to even mention vegetarian. Did I miss out? It's just that the feeeew veg men I have encountered have been taken already. I have the impression that men who would be potential vegans or vegetarians are still intimidated by the meat=manliness thing. It's my personal impression that it takes more guts for a man to decline animal products that for

where I live as of now yes I could do it, but I understand that for many people, the raw diet would have to change. I used to live in once of the "rough climate areas" (born and raised there) and had that issue. You have to adapt to the seasons way more etc.

I simply don't eat or minimize certain foods that give me those symptoms...nuts and sprouts (except soybean sprouts), celery juice...certain stuff. I also get it really bad in the mornings when I eat only fruit but food enzymes have worked wonders for me! Sometimes I'd sit at work with my stomach hurting and huuuge from bloating and gas that I was desperate. Now I pop some enzymes and the problem

Thanks again for your replies. Well, I am high raw with a lot of consecutive 100% months since 10 years (gosh time flies), I'm a athletic person and have had no health probs. But I do have the issue with hypoglycemic conditions, sweet stuff doesn't really sit well with me, either. To be honest...I'd rather not have a bedridden fast I mean, I do feel overall fine, so I would not really want to

Hey thanks for your replies! I haven;t done MC because I expect my dizziness to get even worse when all that sustains me is Maple Syrup...I can not really picture that. However, I didn't try it, either. I know that fasting isn't a requirement, otherwise I'd have pursued it more strongly. I am just curious how people "just do it" because I seem to read all the time about fasting and p

Last time I tried to start a fast, by 4pm I was ready to pass out and my stomach felt like it's digesting itself. What's up? How do you do it? Am I doing something wrong? Adding juices even does not really help.... I tried several times but I think it is my bloodsugar (or lack thereof) getting in the way. I always had problems in my life that I feel I can not go for long without food. I have t

I have had 2 high raw pregnancies, even though I was not nauseous I also was baffled at my weird likes and dislikes the first few weeks. My only advice is to sit it out, and hope that your regular self will come back to you Both times, I was able to climb back up to almost 100% raw easily after the initial rough time (both times around 10-12 weeks).

I get up a 30 minutes earlier and prepare all food I will eat that day, meaning I make smoothies and fill them in empty water bottles and make a huge bowl of cut vegetables. Some of it I eat right away, some of it I put in tupperware and take to work, the rest is dinner. If I eat greens that day, I'll have those marinated the evening before. Works for me like that since years. I can't stand prepa

A long long time ago, the first book about raw I ever read (German author Helmut Wandmaker) mentioned grapes as antiseptic/antibacterial food that should be eaten in a mono diet when in season during the fall of each year as part of a seasonal cleanse. I did in fact eat them in mono sessions for a few years but I found that over time, I am not doing well on too much grapes as they are too sweet
