I shave my armpits every few days (3 or 4) and my legs MAYBE once a week. I shave more in the summer. In the winter I don't give a damn, my husband doesn't care either. I only shave because I'm an avid swimmer and I feel somewhat weirded out if I show my armpit mullet when using my crawl stroke.... I would certainly never let a person see my private parts just to remove hair from them (2 usel

Yummy pies Never mind your colleagues, it is OK. It is OK ot to like how other people eat, so the same goes for them. Also something I noticed is that when people have Carl's Jr. lunch, something like a raw desert may really not sit well in their stomach. They get a sour or upset stomach and conclude that they need to stay away from the raw fruit, when it was not the fruit but the combination

Many restaurants I go to with non raw family will accommodate my special requests I find it hard if not impossible to find raw items on Chinese restaurants' menues. They often don't even have salad :/ Japanese places have seaweed salad, but I don't think they are really raw and a lot of pickled stuff (again a non raw compromise). Otherwise...yep anywhere where they have salad bars is fin

I get happy when reading such cool stories of happy birth experiences. The way my two lovelies came into the world was pure horror to me, because I did not have the guts to say NO to be treated like a piece of meat. Nowadays I want to be a cautionary tale of how things should not work in maternity care, in fact you should think twice if you want to be a part of this "maternity care".

Well I have no real advice but to wait it out. Not much you can do at this point. I don't know if you are into this but sunbathing ( even artificial sun) has helped me in that situation. Otherwise...if you are tired, try to sleep as much as possible. Even though it's hard to imagine now, this fatigue WILL pass.

Eating raw and drinking usually gives me a buzz quicker and a bigger one, too, because the food is generally lighter. Of course, there are bad ones, too, like when eating only fruit and then drinking <-- bad idea. But hangovers...actually less as far as I remember. Unless the alcohol is doing something funny with the raw food in your stomach. I several times had an allergic reaction to ru

Reason 2 is very noble of you, Avocadess!! No matter if alcohol or anything, I always cringe when I am in a situation where I witness a person doing something he or she doesn't want to or know they should not be doing but peer pressure gives them an excuse to do so. And of course, I am such person too often myself

Funny about the so-called Californian attitude! I had great expectations when moving to SoCal but I had to see that even tho there is a greater availability of alternative foods and so on, the majority eats way worse and much more than most Europeans. I had reverse culture shock when visiting my homecountry the past 3 weeks because all the portions seemed to be for kids, cups and glasses were s

I actually have a hard time not drinking at all! I agree that I come home from work and at around 9pm I will be so stressed from daily routines, freelance work and anyone with kids will know besides being lovely they can be devils. When everything is finished and done, I have some wine and the stress falls off. No matter what alcohol though (organic and what not) - I know it is not good for me, e

I am sure that lawsuits would be made but other countries in Europe have this concept of "it is illegal to be uninsured" for ages so I'm sure there's lots of litigious material the decision is based on. For me, I have embraced the situation in the US because I can choose what I want to do AND insurance is much cheaper than it is in Europe (but covers less. Which sucks when you're old!

Ughh I am in the middle of this now, too. I make a point of eating a raw breakfast and going out for a run after that but lunch or dinner my mom makes me some vegan dish and I eat it. So what! OK I don't feel great but it's not only the food but also because I don't like the stuffy holiday atmosphere and all this sitting around. All the best!! I have to say I could kill for a good two pints of m

I had good intentions of not lying about Santa. Now I am stuck because my son still thinks he exists. He basically picked up on it when we moved to the US and now he believes in the whole Santa/Northpole/Reindeer thing. I think tho if we stayed in Europe, he'd be believing on what the kids think there (my homecountry is Germany and many kids are told the baby Jesus sends the gifts). He knows

I don't think it would kill you. But I know I felt eally uncomfortable recently when I got anesthesia at the dentist. I asked for the non-novocaine "weak" stuff but I definitely felt out of it afterwards anyways.

I actually liked that website and I can see the concept of consultants somehow. all those people are making a living off being raw and teaching etc. so the $$ has got to come from somewhere. They do recommend a lot of supplements on top o the juicing if you follow the program closely according to the plan but I don't think you need all that. I stopped after day three because I felt awful...sour

Well "it" happened again yesterday and today during the night time. It sucks. Yesterday was OK because it was in the morning and it was not dark but last night simply sucked. I'm so tired. I have now noticed that especially my limbs felt really numb all throughout the night. I wonder if this physical sensation causes those experiences. Even now my feet and hands don't really feel awake

As I have recently been thinking about the topic of grounding, an interesting argument was brought to be about grounding and stuff like TV, movies etc. Because those seem to be distracting the mind, actually making yourself un-grounded. Taking the mind away, leaving the here and now.... Cleaning the house can be grounding if you're doing consciously. But often times, it turns into a meditation

Oh well I was actually trying to follow the juice feast program as it is, which means drinking lots and lots o juices to curb hunger. It's just that I'm a bit discouraged as it is so much work. Here I am typing this while the produce is sitting on the counter to be juiced but I am procrastinating. Also I have a horrible sour stomach and if I see or smell another orange, I might just hurl. Too bad

Hello Delphine, well I did not really think of any spiritual "sideffects" in G.C.s dietary suggestions. I just though it makes sense to eat low glycemic rather than high fruit and really constantly feeling spaced out. I do think this is a stage, yes I agree. I have by the way slept very soundly ever since I made my initial posts here and have not taken any too drastic measures asides fr

when I was 18 I dated this guy who was straight edge vegan. Both concept were new to me, but the radical crowd became a real annoyance. I've always loved animals and wanted to be a vegetarian all my life before my parents "let me". It never occurred to me that milk can be bad, too! So I got into that and kept going even tho I broke up with the guy. The same year a friend lent me a

Hello, I' m test driving the juice feast program right now in order to figure out if there's a slim chance I will last through such a thing at all. I planned to start it after my traveling during December and January but realized that nothing is keeping me back from trying it now, if only for a few days before I travel. I have failed in the past with fasting but this "new" yet simple

Well a lot of people signed up for "cancer insurance" at the office today. I was really sad/mad when the presentator of the program that offers additional insurance was saying that the USA is so unhealthy, highes trate of heart disease and cancer etc. SO THAT'S WHY YOU NEED CANCER INSURANCE! As if a cancer was inevitable but -- rest assured -- it will be paid for. Yuck.

I love the other kind, the fuyu persimmons. They are firm to the touch and I actually don't really know when they are ripe. When do you know that an apple is ripe? It's like asking the same question which is hard to answer. I don't eat the peel because the ones I get usually have some spots etc. on them that freak me out. I cut off the top thingie, peel and eat. Yum! They do have some..smell t
