Dear pakd4fun and Khale, Good for you starting your raw challenge, it's so nice that you're doing this together. pakd4fun you can be anything you want if you want it bad enough. Becoming a raw vegan can bring you so much joy, so much clarity as all the 'crap' literaly falls away and as khale so beautifully put it, it can be elegantly effortless and in being so it can make life elegantly e

I don't wash my organic greens when I buy them at the market, never really thought about the possibility that an animal might have peed on it. I do wash the wild greens I pick in my local park but only in running cold water. I think you're right Jody about building up your immunity when you're not so obsessed with hygienics. The only thing I'm careful about is when I've been handling the ra

Gosia, I gave up salt about 2 months ago and I've noticed that the pain I've been feeling in my knees for the last 3 years as I go up and down the stairs (I live on the third floor without a lift) has disappeared. It got less and less and then when I stopped eating so much fat it went altogether. For me, salt and avocados went together and I thought I could never live without them. With salt

I so know how you feel Sarah, I'm avoiding avocado's for the same reason at the moment. I don't feel I can have a small bit without wanting to have more. I haven't given in yet but it has been touch and go a couple of times. All that has been holding me back is how wonderful I'm feeling without them but is not easy going yet. Francis

Dear Khale, I can hear how you are struggling with yourself and I feel for you and did not mean to be insulting in my above post. I can say in all honesty that I love eating raw and have no cravings for any cooked foods and am absolutely certain in my mind that I will eat like this for the rest of my life. I love how it makes me feel, both physically and mentally and I also love how it tas

Hi Rob, I used to be able to eat loads of it as well, the only thing that has changed for me is not eating it for the past two years and eating high fruit/low fat for the last three weeks and maybe becoming more sensitive to it. Thanks for the link to the sleepless site, I think Tony's research is really interesting. Francis

I would say that after a natural catastrophe on the scale of Katrina a raw foodist would have a much better chance of surviving. He could fast without shocking his body, he could survive on an orange (non-organic) a day because with his clean body he would get maximum benefit from very little (raw) food and he would not need much and certainly far less water than a SAD eater and with his strong

I have read (in one of Dr.Norman Walker's books) that wheatgrass juice, as much of it as you can manage, is supposed to be really good for mending broken bones. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Francis

Hey Jodi, Thanks for your concern I am absolutely sure it was wild garlic. I used to pick and eat it a lot from the same place I picked this leaf from about 3 years ago. Francis

I am on holiday in Somerset, England at the moment and enjoying lovely walks in nature. The other day I spotted some garlic leaves growing wild and decided to pick one and eat it. I have not eaten garlic or onions for the last two years as I used to work in a raw restaurant/yoga studio which was sattvic, which means they don't use garlic or onion because they believe it disturbs the balance

Thanks Kwan and Jodi for your kind words, actually I have been feeling frantastic lately just from eating better. I can really feel now how I was hurting my body (my liver?) by eating too much fat. It feels like my whole body is breathing out a huge sigh of relief. I used to eat low fat when I ate cooked, then when I became a raw vegan I started eating huge amounts of fats in the form of nu

Oh my, I was quite proudly going to announce that I finally started the 5 Tibetans, 7 reps of each and I've been hiking up a hill for the past couple of days through a forest to the moors in lovely Somerset, England, where I'm on holiday at the moment. But after reading all these entries about bodybuilding and working out in the gym I feel like a wimp Oh well, at least I can say that all my

Does anyone else eat the watermelon seeds when they eat watermelon? I love the taste of them. It's also nice to blend the meat and seeds of the watermelon, you get a really creamy refreshing drink. Ann Wigmore recommended juicing the meat, seeds (for fat or would it be protein?) and rind (full of cholorophyll) together but I can't afford organic watermelons so I skip the rind. Francis

I will post the reports and list next week as I'm on holiday in England right now. I might be wrong but I think Brian and Gabriel are very similar in age. As for what would be considered a sweet fruit, I would say bananas, mango's, pineapple, organges etc. Non sweet fruits would be cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers etc. I have to say that as much as I like Brian and what he stands fo

I met Brian a couple of times and Gabriel once. They both seem very dedicated to what they're teaching and nice people although I think Brian looks a lot healthier than Gabriel who looks a bit emaciated to me. Brian especially I found very inspiring as a person. My friend Diana, who owns the wheatgrass stall I work on, attended a meeting last weekend where a lot of the raw Bigwigs and repres

Hi guys, It's good to read all your posts. This thread really helps me to take my low fat intake serious. So, the end of the second week. Exercise: 1 hour brisk walk every day, loads of brisk cycling.Still didn't start tibetans or rebounding but will have more time next week to fit them into my day. Food: At least 2 liters of green smoothie a day.Usually water/bananas/leafy greens One

I have read somewhere that when God said bread is the staff of life, it has been assumed that the word staff is used to indicate a necessity, but what was actually meant by this phrase was that it will keep people going when there is nothing else to eat that's good for them, such as fruits and vegetables, that it will "stave" off starvation in times of need but God never meant to say it

Khale said: There's a breaking away from the predominate "spirit of the times" and the predominate culture in which we live. There is a sense in which we serve as couriers of a new age and are actively pursuing "values" that are certainly not mainstream at this time. I agree with you Khale that there is more to the raw diet. And I'll run "couriers of a new age"

It's possible zenpawn that it was the higher fat in the chocolate goodies. The only way I can find out for sure would be for me to blend some raw cacao into something not fatty, like a banana smoothie and see how I feel after that. I am going sailing with the Chocolate Club next Sunday so maybe I'll experiment with chocolate one more time. It's not that I particularly want to be able to eat

Hi Jgunn, I'm not sure if the gold that was added was in powder form or liquid. I have just started experimenting with etherium gold powder, which I bought from Shazzie's website and I've been reading on the internet about white powder gold. It's supposed to help balance the left and right brain sides which I find quite intriguing.

Just a couple of things that went through my head as I read this thread and reflected on the little and sometimes big struggles I'm going through at times with my eldest about eating raw. We live in a society where almost everything revolves around money. We have all these really bad convenience foods because someones wants to earn money and doesn't care if they're hurting peoples health a

Below is a part of what I just posted in the -transform yourself in 12 weeks trial phase- thread: Up until Saturday evening this is what I ate and I felt great all week. I already noticed a difference. I had more energy and felt brighter/more alert and happier. Then came Saturday evening. After working on the market all day, drinking wheatgrass juice and resisting all the raw nuts (and espe

I didn't manage to get round to starting the 5 Tibetans or rebounding yet. I have been using E3live for the past 6 months. The main reason I'm using it is for my kids. It's supposed to have long chain fatty acids in it, the kind you would associate with fish oil, which is supposed to be good for the (developing) brain. So far it has felt like a good addition to our diet but after reading the article Jgunn posted on the Maca/Chlorella thread I'm going to have to do

To my surprise I have to agree with you Bryan. I never thought I would say this, but since my recent diet change to low fat/high fruit I'm experiencing the same calm, centred, refreshed/energized feelings which I associate with a green juice fast. I'm still drinking a green juice everyday but I've been doing that for years, so that can't be the reason for my improved state of being. Franci
