yeah, no kidding, I was shocked by what people were citing for their grocery prices. to me it seems, if you arn't ordering by the case and live in the north where organic fruit from a farmers market is somewhat of an oxymoron (although good for greens) fruit costs about a buck. Mangos cost more than a buck, tomatoes and oranges are a bit less then a buck (1.99 lb). organic cucumbers cos

Been travelin’ the last couple of days, most of this I ate either on a bus or in a open cafeteria or like Whole Foods (their produce isn’t as great as I remembered), haha. Anyone have a hard time eating high-fruit on the run? WED 10:00 11 bananas 3:30 – 12 blood oranges, 2 huge tomatoes, 2 cucumbers (got a few looks eating this one) 6:30 small salad, .75 lb dates THURS 12:

I Think they have fruits and vegetables in California. no? IMHO for 'raw' pre-packaged stuff it would have to say 'raw' and argueably have to be refrigerated in many cases, except if it was some dehydrated thing. If you have the dough, you could try ordering from Rawvolution for gourmet delivery, they are based out of LA I think. From what I hear, its very heavy on the spices and condimen

yeah, I would think the extractor would be the same or yield more juice. It seems like people are using the manual squeezers more from what I gathered on other posts. I was wondering if it was some anti-jucing loophole. haha

well thats no more than just a wider intelligently worded and inclusive version of what I wrote! but really, the moral is if you are trying to disprove the existence of someones experiences with facts and data, they can only laugh, although that is what they should do and leave it at that.

Not too many people will address this issue arguing that these kind of ideas are pedaled by gurus in order to sell their fractured products. Stories of monks living to 300 on goji teas don’t seem to fly here in this forum, probably for good reason. The idea that Goji or Cacao are consumed in any considerable quantity by people in their respective locations is untrue. Same of course with spiruli

Raw omni – no I’m starting to feel ‘brain fog’ less. Is this from doing less fat with high fruit? Possibly. But more the point of what I was saying is that it probably has to do as much with external things, or changes happening to your body or values and not just of the strength or soundness of your diet. My comment about non-811ers was just a response to your first post on T.C. an

noelle. there is alot of good advice here about 'going raw' and all the methods and reasonable expectations one might impose on ones lifestyle. I think people would consistantly agree that adding more fresh raw fruits and vegetables will get you on your way. I disagree with troy about jumping into fasting. your not going to dent a lifetime of habits by adding that level of stress first in.

Stockholm, I find what you wrote totally intriguing...but also mindboggling. Isn't a macrofauna animals equivilant in SIZE to worms? Never really thought about what type of animals might eat mangos whole...did humanoids kill off such creatures in the land before time? maybe this is the key as to why humans began eating meat. aout of need to kill off creatures that were devouring all their man

minou33: In NYC, just go to Chinatown. you don't even have to venture into the thick of it. There are stands on Chrystie right by manhatten bridge and some closer to bowery that have fresh durian. They are about $6 for a large 8-10 diam incher. Some non-descript little grocery stores in the area have frozen durian.

I think a good question to add here is if people have been able to achieve high levels of health on a long-term raw diet while still carrying nasty mercury fillings.

Arugula, to each his/her own, but the reason you seem to be drawing a lot of flak on your 'science' sources is you use them to make statements about concepts that exist outside of science/statistics as presently accepted. someone quoted Einstein (i forgot who, I copied it to a file) "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." but irregardles

well I would say yes in the same way that Cousens has never really shaked his MD. it in no way resembles what MDs would advise true. He sees a greater truth about how the human body generally functions. To me its still kind of like treating a person as a biological machine that takes in fuel. but it was probably incorrect how I used it. I think its just kind of a drag that this board h

Bryan, I think people can tell that just from how you speak and not just from the time you spend helping others here. I’m not sure what my stance is on ayerveda. To me it basically starts with an existing diseased body as its source. But it is probably true that certain people do have different constitutions. … To me it’s a bit too simplistic that the answer is always bananas. For many

I'm glad someone finally acknowledged this. people of extreme health have also gained weight in some cases on their fasts. calories = fuel may be science, but it isn't necessarily reality. constantly overeating on fruit till your stomach is full will in no way bring you closer to this type of vitality. not to mention it stirs up all kinds of toxins from you and your mother and your mothers mother

To me, I just don’t understand whats so taboo about the issue of calories or why its set in stone that if you don’t eat a huge amount of calories from sweet fruit that your diet is somehow fraudulent. Personally I haven’t made up my mind. I was thriving on my diet, but the more I learned about the amount of fat I was eating..probably more like 40% than 60% since I would usually do a mono me

I've experienced the same effects of being overstimulated with "energy" after upping my sweet fruit and doing overt fat only a few times a week. I guess in some ways this is quite a shift, not so much in terms of fat but in terms of increased calories form sweet fruit for sure. I've always operated on the assumption that certain foods balance this and i've also removed quite a bit of th

yeah, people are always going to avoid 'details' like that. Still there must be a reason you opt not to eat strictly fruit. Does it mention if he was using the botanicaly deffinetion (eating lots of avacados etc..) or if sweet fruit was emphasized. Bryan are any of those issues I mentioned: extreme alkalinity or cold/damp energy addressed for you with your diet? or do you consider them to be

my teeth are fine, its my spleen i'm concerned about. Sweet fruit is what is emphasized in 8/1/1 and so far I haven't read of anyone making mono meals of squash... I eat arugala and other dark/spicy leafy greens, and try to include tomatoes and peppers regularly. I juice around 2 lbs (or more) of veges a day, and I save some of the pulp for a blended salad later with romaine (for extra fiber I

Mark, could you explain more how your diet differs than Billings' fruitarian period? Isn't there another issue of always consuming cold/damp energy foods on 8/1/1 if salt, seaweeds, onions, dehdrated flax etc.. are also shunned...in regards to extreme alkalinity?

yeah, to me this doesn't seem to be at all discussed in relation to 811 here. I think some people have brought up a couple of good points as well on other threads about 811 if one isn't incredibly active and lving in cold climates/participating in a spectrum of healthful acts (sunshine, fresh air)... I'm still curious about the second question. If Bryan and I are cosuming the same ammount o
