As much as I hate to keep this thread going, I just wanted to say one last time that Nedsin, I'm sorry - sorry for going off on you the way I did, it was a terribly mean thing for me to do. I've just started reading Storm & Jinjee's "Raw Vegan Shopping and Diet Plans" eBook. In the section on raw vegan weight gain, Storm says:

" Weight gain and building muscle mass is a subject that was of extreme importance to me because I was always under weight. No matter how much I ate I could never gain any weight. I weighed about 165 until I started eating The Raw Vegan Diet. Then even though I was eating about half the amount of food that I used to I was able to build muscle mass."

Maybe you should check this book out or contact Storm and ask him some questions.

Wow such a disappointing post.

Sorry, but there is no such thing as an ideal form of healthiness. Regardless of what the controlled-minded people of society believe from the media, they're being misled. The main important principle of life is internal body maintenance, not external physical attributes. One must realize that constantly stressing the tissues and cells of the body brings an early death. Appreciating what your internal body does for you every single second of time is also a main priority of life.

Unfortunately, since you've removed the consumption of meat from your diet, your body mass is going to deplete. You have removed a form of high density food from your diet. In order to build mass you have to consume mass. And eating low caloric raw foods aren't going to supply you with the amount of mass and essential nutrients needed in order build and maintain your "ideal" definition. As long as you're constantly working out and burning the low energy received from raw foods, you won't be able to maintain your ideal look. The only possible way to achieve it with raw foods is correct food combinations and amounts at specific times of the day. And doing it completely on various nuts and grains as your only protein source may not bring you your ideal results. If you want to gain or maintain your mass, then I suggest sticking to your meat or calculate the amounts of nuts per mass of grams that are equivalent to meat, and you just may get the results you seeking.

Because the Raw Food Diet is an ancient philosophy of eating, ancient people knew how to manage their energy levels. They never wasted their energy on useless exercise for physical gratification. They used it for walking, running, gardening and so on. So if you're unable to get the results you want with just nuts then sorry but the Raw Food Diet isn't for you. Ancient people also use to eat raw meat. Not sure if that's ethical in our conservative modern society.

Eventually when my digital camera gets fixed I'll post my physique on eating/living on rawfoods for 6 plus years.
Someone will also have to give me pointers on doing this because this site I think requires a link and you just can't post your pics.

What was the name of the website that helps in posting pictures, photoshop/photobucket/photosomething.com......?

In case anyone wants to know how to get 100 g of raw protein in the almost ideal proportions of amino acids for humans, here is a recipe, but it would be very expensive and a lot of work (not only in terms of human effort but also in terms of electricity) to make.

If one was a semi-professional gardener and sprouter it would be cheaper.

132 g alfalfa sprouts
30 g arugula
342 g broccoli
1 head romaine lettuce
1 head green leaf lettuce
312 g sprouted mung beans
140 g mushroom
1 brazil nut
28 g pistachio
28 g walnut
200 g scallion
14 g flax
28 g pumpkin seed
90 g raw spinach
1000 g baby zucchini
68 g raw watercress

recipe:
grind the nuts/seeds
put all the veggies and sprouts in the food processor, blend
add ground nuts/seeds, blend
shape into patties
dehydrate to 1/5 of the original volume: much easier to eat when dehydrated.

analysis:
1320 kcal
100 g protein
57 g fiber
148 g carbohydrate including 35 g sugars
62 g fat
omega6 fat: 23.6 g
omega3 fat: 8.8 g
a perfect o6yawning smiley3 ratio of 2.7:1

This recipe also satisfies 100% or more of all rdas except B12, D2, and vitamin E.
