Bag of organic lamb's quarters (first time I have purchased and tasted them. Weird dustiness on the leaves--perhaps fine mulch?)$2.50

One organic cuke: $1

2 garlic scapes (first time purchased also) @ .25 each

5 ears corn (I ate one raw cob when I got homewinking smiley) @ .50 each

I get to the one near my house as soon as it opens every Wednesday and sack the place. Lots of amazing stuff without pesticides and super fresh!!

Ha ha, no smartphone (or any cell phone, for that matter!). I don't take pictures of everything I do. I know it's common these days to document one's life but I would rather be here now and just experience it.

Wednesday is a nice day for a farmers market. If anyone has ideas about garlic scapes, do tell. I tried it and it was amazing--very intense garlicky goodness...

You have motivated me to get to a farmer's market again this weekend. I've gone once this summer and been out of town other weekends. The Wednesday ones here are too far.

I was tempted to get some blueberries and/or raspberries but was watching the pocketbook. Blueberries at $5 a quart was a bit steep for me...But I will admit that when I tasted one of the sample berries it was so blueberry-ish!
