i checked out the site you recommended for newbie seaweedman.com but as i perused the site i didn't see anywhere where they test for heavy metals or have any way of filtering them out or anything so i was wondering what makes you trust them other than the fact that they are not japan etc. Re: question for suez and seaweed

[curezone.com] I also test what I buy with a good recently calibrate radiation detector at home. Re: question for suez and seaweed

great article and good points however, nowhere do they mention that they specifically test for heavy metals and that was my original concern also, what kind of radiation detector did you get that sounds interesting Re: question for suez and seaweed

You can have seaweed and even your local air tested yourself at a lab if you want to be absolutely sure. > also, what kind of radiation detector did you > get > that sounds interesting [www.amazon.com] There are venders selling it cheaper but Medcom has a very good warrantee so I bought from them. could you let me know what the reading is for the main seaweed? also could you let me know what the range and interpretation is for that reading due to the migrating nature of currents, i find this a fascinating but complex issue Re: question for suez and seaweed

I don't remember the exact numbers as I stocked up and did my testing a long time ago but the numbers were barely over backround at that time. Now they are under that backround, in my area, where backround radiation has tripled and does have some spikes now and then. Oddly, the highest reading I got was from Japanese seaweed that I found at the back of the pantry which had to have been sitting there around 8 years which is when the health food store I bought it from went out of business. > also could you let me know what the range and > interpretation is for that reading > > due to the migrating nature of currents, i find > this a fascinating but complex issue It is very complex but at the same time it's very simple - we are screwed. There is really only one ocean, fallout falls out anywhere and everywhere, and the radiation does not disperse. It biomagnifies and it bioaccumulates and then there is the inexcapable plutonium from the MOX fuel which is unfathomably distructive. We will just have to do the best we can. There are no answers on this one. Re: question for suez and seaweed

thanks suez barely over "background"? okay, i'm guessing that what you mean by "background" is simply "negligible"? yes, it is simple and complex it is simply ONE ocean with plenty of eddies, currents, undercurrents, upwelling along with massive gyres and the ever perennial migrations that will allow a tin foil gum wrapper from chicago to end up in someone's backyard in new zealand but i DO love seaweed sighhh....
