High fruit diet and dental health

Date: February 27, 2015 12:50AM I would like to discuss dental health and the
prevention of cavities on a high fruit based diet. Please discuss experience and tips for dental hygiene as well as any research that may be beneficial. I know this tends to be a topic of interest so I was hoping people with several years of experience could offer their knowledge as well. Thanks for contributing!~ Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Date: February 27, 2015 01:56AM I floss twice a day and brush about 5 times a day and drink water like on any other diet I've been on. It's not rocket science. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

The acid in fruits slightly weakens the teeth so brushing immediately after eating them can do surface damage. Use a water pick. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

I'm just curious as to what measures people take. I've heard the occasional horror story regarding teeth. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Date: February 27, 2015 03:23AM I use `perio' toothpaste from the Hippocrates Health Institute and it is excellent. Apparently it is one of the only toothpastes that kill ALL the bad bacteria in the mouth (most apparently don't kill very much) and kills off spiral-K (can't spell it) which is responsible for much of the tooth decay. Even better is to use a perio mouth wash and avoid the tooth brush all togeather according to Brian Clement.
Apparently, swishing wheatgrass juice in the mouth after eating fruit will only kill off 50% of this nasty spiral-K bacteria. This may be true, because when l was drinking two large trays of wheatgrass juice per day my teeth still got cavities with some fruit. Personally l feel tooth brushes are not good and cannot get all througout the teeth, so special mouth wash (perio) is probably best used. If you can't get perio mouth wash you could consider wheatgrass juice to at least kill 50% of the bacteria. I used to have tooth decay problems with fruit, but perio seems to have stopped it. At one time l had given up fruit for good because l didn't want to risk another cavity. Why can'thumans be designed to grow a third, forth or fifth set of teeth if need be. Having only one adult set of teeth seems really dumb. Nothing worse than being all raw and going to the dentist and getting a needle in the mouth, the toxins really knock you about. www.thesproutarian.com Edited 1 time(s). Has this ever happened to you? Aren't there holistic or naturopathic dentists who can use something other than harsh chemicals? Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Date: February 27, 2015 03:40AM I already mentioned in other threads, that a higher amount of the amino acid lysine (nuts and legumes) in the diet improves the saliva quality and prevents cavities somehow. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Does it just spray the teeth with water to clean? Interesting advice! Thank you! I personally wouldn't be able to do the wheatgrass (can't handle the taste of green juices) but good advice! According to Anne Osborne, in our natural state, we would not have problems with fruit and cavities but dietary habits from past generations predispose us to it. She talks about studies in which scientists tested and learned that it took several generations of raw food eaters to predispose the mouth and teeth with traits that were beneficial for eating fruit (I believe it was a bigger oral cavity and cavities weren't an issue) Re: High fruit diet and dental health

As most nuts aren't really raw Panchito Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I already mentioned in other threads, that a > higher amount of the amino acid lysine (nuts and > legumes) in the diet improves the saliva quality > and prevents cavities somehow. Date: February 27, 2015 06:55PM 100 % pure olive oil soap is fantastic for brushing the teeth. Dr Judd wrote a book on it. It should restore cavities because the glycerin will be washed away and glycerin acts like a layer,so the teeth cannot restore itself if your brush with normal toothpaste. But pure, natural olive oil soap should do it. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Date: February 27, 2015 06:59PM cooking denatures proteins but does not destroy aminoacids (unless using a blowtorch). Lysine is an essential aminoacid that probably is one of the most needed in the human body. Preffered raw sources are nuts and seeds. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

If you are going to go raw, or fruitarian, go 100% And drinks lots of water, your teeth will start to feel clean, and like they are brand new, like you just been to cleaning, all the time, correct guys? Re: High fruit diet and dental health

I am 99.999999999 percent raw. I need good teeth too. What should I do? I cannot be 100 percent because it does not all depend on me. My partner is 5 percent raw only. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Does it taste like soap? I would have to look in to this at the research. ecomm Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > 100 % pure olive oil soap is fantastic for > brushing the teeth. Something to keep in mind. > If you are going to go raw, or fruitarian, go 100% > And drinks lots of water, your teeth will start to feel clean, and like they are brand new, like you just been to cleaning, all the time, correct guys? I wouldn't say most of us are 100%. Most nuts/seeds are roasted before being sold even if they say they are "raw" thanks to labeling loopholes. I have this clean feeling as well! Edited 1 time(s). Date: February 28, 2015 06:40AM Never said there wasn't. But, many of the more popular
nuts/seeds are poisonous in their raw state and not sold as such for this reason. SueZ Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Not if you know what you're doing when you buy. > There are good sources out there. Re: High fruit diet and dental health

Seriously? I don't know where you are from but in the USA we've been using them for about 50 years. Here's some info for you ... [www.oralcareshop.com] Re: High fruit diet and dental health
