Date: September 09, 2007 06:42PM Hi,
I am making a raw babaganoush, the recipe calls for puttting the eggplant mixture in the dehydrator for two hours, because I don't have one, I have put the mixture in the oven, at 100f. I need help! Is this okay? any better suggestions, tips? Please, please, please, I'll be so gratefull! Re: help! I don't have a dehydrator! using the oven now

Date: September 10, 2007 02:03AM The other option is to use no heat at all:
1) Buy 4 of those cheap paper air-conditioning filters. Place your items to dehydrate between the slats in the filter. Stack one filter upon another until you've filled them up. Then bungee the whole she-bang to a $10 box fan and turn it on. Let the air blow through your items until thoroughly air-dried. Try it! -David Z. Mason WWW.RawFoodFarm.com Re: help! Date: September 10, 2007 07:04PM I saw the box fan method on Good Eats!! Haven't gotten around to trying it, but sounds a lot better to me than blowing hundreds on an Excaliber. And the open oven method does work nicely, although it's a bit of a waste of energy (not to mention unbearable on hot days). Re: help! I don't have a dehydrator! using the oven now
