My suggestions are to do colon cleansing things that can be done while a person is eating a regular diet like adding psyllium husks to his diet, and then, if he sees improvement he might do a fast, and by that time his body will have cleaned out a little and it won't be so hard to do (although I bet his doctors already have him on some kind of fiber supplement). I would also have him drink th

Eating coconuts does not hurt the plant so it would fall under the classification of fruitarianism. I think coconut water is how we should have gotten our water long ago in an ideal caveman-type situation, rather than drinking from a stream and getting sick we would have had pure fresh water always available, even in places where there were no streams. As far as the definition of fruitarian, W

I think that it might have melted in the sun, that "stone" that I mushed up to see what it was made of was nasty. The first thought that came to mind was that it felt like a graphite-based lubricant that was extremely sticky. I had to wash several times just to rid of the clinging, sticky/slippery mess (sorry for the graphics). It's what I imagine arterial plaque might be like, if I

All I can say is that my dentist did some kind of bone test and said I was fine. I get my minerals from my food, the minerals I see on the inside of my distiller look like hard water stains from a dripping faucet and I think that they are supposed to be indigestable.

I've drunk distilled water all my life and avoid any other type, I like it fresh and avoid the bottled distilled water. A distiller was the first thing I bought after leaving home. After opening up my distiller every day and seeing the junk that I'm NOT drinking I'm SO happy that I have a distiller. I think it is natural, it mimics the natural cycle of water evaporating into clouds and then fa

See the detractor is saying that no stones are coming out and that we are just sending oil and lemons through our system and making salad dressing. Another detraction is that stones will still show up on scans after a liver cleanse, but that is because the clease only takes some stones and then after the cleanse stones further back in the liver's "plumbing" will work their way forwa

I did a liver cleanse a few days ago and didn't use any citrus, because I didn't have any,and I still got stones out, well they weren't hard stones they kind of had the consistancy of glue from a glue stick. The next day I was reading about liver cleansing on the internet and came across this statement from a detractor that: the stones are not stones but are actually the result of the citrus i

Seaweed is supposed to be high in protein, at least some kinds like nori, others have FAR less protein. I just read about this a few days ago in Zavasta's book "Your Right to be Beautiful" so I don't know much about it. The next time I went shopping I picked up a pack of nori and the package said that each sheet had 1 gram of protein which isn't tremendous but it's easy to eat, it's vag

Bryan's suggestion about asking people for the fruit from the fruit trees in thier yards reminds me of the time that my family did just that. We had just moved across country, and were living in an RV in a friend's yard, and Dad didn't have a job yet, so we asked people if we could pick up apples and other fruit from thier trees. We didn't live on the fruit exclusively, but it did supplement our

Thanks for the info Arkay. Your comment about the the strength of the stomach acid of a predator reminds me of the time I experimented with a little puppy worming medicine a few years ago (on me not a puppy). It obviously wasn't meant for humans, my digestive system was rather "sore" for a few days, it felt like it stripped the lining.

They used currants instead if they wanted seedless raisins: "Basically, all ancient raisins were grown as two types: the regular sized grapes were dried, large in size with large seed, and the raisins that came from Corinth, Greece were called currants (the word is a corruption of the word Corinth). The currants were very small but grew into huge grape clusters on the grapevine, and were

Shows how to get it off with a grapefruit knife. I haven't tried it since I don't have a grapefruit knife. I lay a smallish coconut peice white side up and take a steak knife and tap the sharp side into the flesh with a hammer and twist. If that doesn't work I tap it in again but this time at 90 degrees to the first cut.

I always thought cocoNUT was a big nut (I wonder why? :-) but I was watching a youtube video showing how to open one, and the guy mentioned that it was a fruit. I was like, no way! And then I looked it up on Wikipedia and it said: "Botanically, a coconut is a simple dry fruit known as a fibrous drupe, instead of a true nut." Who knew! So that means it would fall under the umbr

Some parasites need to be gotten rid of but parasites are basically unavoidable. I was listening to Dr Dean Odell and he said that if YOU (all your cells) were to suddenly disappear there would remain behind a perfect image of your form (until gravity took effect) because of all the parasites which were living on/in you, and he said that most of them are harmless. Now you know how "Mother

You've got to be careful about this too and make sure that your diet doesn't make you smell to him - as in too much garlic or brewers yeast - if you eat those things. I've heard of raw foodists having those problems. So start out by asking him if you smell or if your food is iritating to him (loud noises from food processing and blending, the smell of dehydrating concoctions ect.) and then mo

My advice: go slow, you have the rest of your life to transition to the diet you want. Also, realize that there are ADDICTIVE substances in a lot of the foods that you are trying to give up, which accounts for your cravings, you are not just giving up your favorite foods you are giving up the uric acid in meats (which is as addictive as caffiene), the opioids in grains and the casein in dairy.

You definitely sound like you need a dehydrator and some raw bread recipes (they actually have the texture of hard crackers rather than being like a sponge) - I don't know how I would survive without a dehydrator.

I think arugula needs to look up from the books/computer screen and take a look at undocumented and untested life in real time every so often. But I don't care how she looks or base my opinion on what she says to eat based on her looks - and I would vote her the most likely among us (her or Gosia) to write a "peer-reviewed" mumbo jumbo scientific article about raw food in a scientific

So does fasting give you moments of feeling great? That would be the test, in my mind, for if it was possible for raw to make you feel great or not.

I personally distrust a lot of science, especially if it used to promote eating meat or dairy. The RDAs for protein are double what is needed, they found out what amount of protein a body looses everyday when it is not eating and said that this is the body's protein requirement. But when they set the RDAs they doubled the amount for safety. They set the RDA for calcium around 1000mg, but I

Ooops, I listened to it again and it was 92 days long not 62 days. What SJR said was interview-type questions, the sidekick butting in twice about eating beans and then going on and on about protein in the disclaimer was what was really irritating, but then at the end the sidekick said she didn't really know anything and should probably do some reading. I don't know why they kept stressin

Don't all raw food books have disclaimers on them, we are talking here about something more extreeme a 62 day fast that everyone on this thread has knocked in some way. Maybe SJR should read this thread on the air as her disclaimer. Did Storm do the juice fast?

Newbie (to raw) reporters always get it a little wrong. Watch the Tanya Zavesta interview "It's a huge effort" "You might loose too much weight" "If you can't make a lifestyle choice that you can keep forever don't do it" I wonder how many MDs sent SJR scathing remarks because she gave airtime to alternative treatments. (or maybe they didn't I've had a

Ahhhh Cute, now I understand what a joylet is, I had thought of it as being a sunbeam or an energy ray that danced around. Now I see it as a cute little sprite who gazes at me with the deep trusting eyes of an old soul. I'm sure that the purple hair will rock with coco's kid, I saw his locks were purple!
