I think that there is some overlap between the two. But you could also look at it this way: we are supposed to be thin and our body knows it, excess fat is the way the body stores toxins so the toxins don't make us sick. So our body prompts us to get thin and eliminate the toxins and we respond the only way we know how, by dieting instead of eating raw. (this is not considering the other reasons

Yahh! I was about to start my own board with separate sections for people on fruit and vegetable kicks. (I wanted to say fruit and vegetable people but people go through phases and may switch after a few months), but instead I hung out on Alissa's board.

You are where I was in raw eating in early summer, eating root vegetables, grains, potatoes, nuts. I kind of naturally evolved into eating mostly fruit over the past months - not that I'm saying you should - but it would give you the carbs with minimal effort you want.

That just sounds so "bread and water". I feel so sorry for you, like you're deprived - here, have a fruit basket. I used to do the high sprout/veggie raw diet every time I went raw - la Ann Wigmore. I'd start raw and start sprouting. I always went off it. This time, I'm into fruit and I'm actually sticking with it :-)

Have you ever studied iridology? If you look into it you will understand why eyes get clearer on raw. Basically, different parts of your iris corespond to different parts of your body. You can tell how healthy a body part is by looking at the part of the iris which corresponds to it. An unhealthy body part will make that part of the iris darker. So If you have a lot of unhealthy body parts yo

Out of fruits, veggies and nuts, I think fruits are the most digestable.

Have you read the analogy about how heat would destroy YOUR cells if you were exposed to it? I found that analogy powerful, I don't know where to read it exactly, it tends to pop up in raw literature a lot. I think the best way to describe cooked food is "half-burnt" or "partially destroyed", it's not quite burned to a blackened crisp, but it would have been if the cooking

I remember seeing a National Geographic pic of Russian or Alaskan schoolchildren gathered around a special light with just their underwear and goggles on during winter to get UVB rays. I wonder if that would work (cheaper than a ticket too) apparantly it only takes a few minutes to get enough exposure. Vitamin D3 is produced in the skin by conversion of 7-dehydrocholesterol by UVB. Human s

Yellow Dock is great for iron, it both has it in it and helps with iron absorbtion - so you shouldn't take it with the same meal that you might take an aditional iron supplement.

I think all raw fooders are struggling with the same things you are and are constantly backsliding and binging and, yes why are you eating just fruit? Not even fruitarians eat just fruit. You remind me of when I first went raw and didn't know how a lot about raw food recipes and ate just fruit for a few weeks. It was a serious shock to my system. Have you tried flax seed crackers, filling foo

What they didn't mention is how much of the bad stuff is in the foods. It could be only something like .0001%.

The only reason I would eat serious amounts of sprouts is if I was trying to beat cancer or heal some illness. I think Ann Wigmore recomended 6 cups of sprouts a day in her diet.

Ok, so we have all seen pics of blood vessels clogged with plaque after years of eating SAD. Question: does one detox all that somehow on raw and how does that happen? Is it gradual erosion by the blood or does it flake off? Does it even detox?

Victoria Boutenko wrote in her book "12 Steps" about when she worked at a health retreat that taught people battling cancer how to prepare raw food. She tracked the people after they left the retreat and found out that only 2% stayed on the diet - even though thier life depended on it and thier family gave them support! She also described cooked addictions as a giant that is always t

I had a daughter who had that for at least a year, it went away when I tried to increase her fat intake and food intake in general - not because of the exzema but because I thought she needed to grow more. I specifically increased her vanilla Rice Dream milk consumption. It may have just been a coincidence. There are also many reasons for exzema and just as many cures. I also topically
