Congrats on going raw! Do you flip the crackers halfway through the drying? I think that might help.

Well from looking at the snow outside my door I'd have say no. But I was born in the Carribean and lived there when I was a baby, I always wanted to go back and live in the Bahamas, camping on the deserted islands, I read an article about a couple who did that. Nice to have you back!

Not those pics again. The last time they surfaced the comments got so bad that the thread was deleted. My take on those pics: The Hippocrates Heath Institute specializes in saving people's lives, people who are dying of cancer and other life threatening illnesses. SO, I think no matter how thin they look, they look a lot better than this: I like knowing how to post pics here, now

Thanks Ian! Witarianin - I never heard of a vitarian but I see a map of Eroupe on the wall so it must be a European term.

I believe it. I've noted high fat in the diet of diabetics I know, that could be a reaction to the decrease in the sugar in their diet. They need to get their calories from somewhere and their sugar intake is limited so they get their calories from fat. I wish that the article had compared the different kinds of fats, surely not all fats have an equal effect.

1 cup of sprouted lentils has 6.9g protein, the 47g mentioned on the link must be for the unsprouted lentils. The interesting thing was that the USDA HAD sprouted lentils in it's database!

Awwh, she's so cute Yogamamma! I love the one in the leaves. I started raw (this time around) in May. July: I'm still eating a lot of cooked foods and when I'm doing raw I'm doing a lot of fruits, nuts and salads and getting indigestion, probably from the nuts. December: after reading on this board a lot of posts by Bryan, F1, David and others about fruit, I've been emphasizing fruits for a fe

I've turned a few people onto raw, what I really want is a raw tract that I could hand out to people that I get into conversation about raw for a short amount of time - like the checkout clerks.

Cool links arugula, thanks! From the first link: It says that 30% of adults over 50 have a stomach condition which makes it hard to absorb B12 which does not come from supplements. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! 30% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Older adults Hydrochloric acid helps release vitamin B12 from the protein in food. This must occur before vitamin B12 binds with intrinsic factor

You can still heal diabetes without going raw. The culprit in diabetes is cows milk. One of the proteins in cows milk is almost identical in structure to pancreatic cells. Some people's bodies will treat this protein as a foreign invader and attack it with the immune system. Unfortunately, when this happens, the pancreatic cells are also attacked and the pancreas can't produce enough insul

wild-aloe Wrote: > it seems that I'm the > only person in this thread who even bothered to > read the link you gave. Thanks for reading the big link, most of it has nothing to do with B12. It looks like no one uses Dang Gui for B12 supplementation, but I still think I'll try it for it's other bloodbuilding properties.

PLEEEEASE do not use a coffe grinder as a food processor, the grinding compartment is NOT sealed from the motor (at least mine isn't) and the liquids will get into the motor. If you want to do something like that, do a small food processor. My first food proccessor is the one in the link below and it cost me $10, I've done pine nuts in it, I don't know if it would do heavier nuts. It only

Please post the recipe if you like the way it turned out, is that coconut I see? Coconut always "dresses up" a raw concoction and makes it look so pretty and lacy!

You know what, it probably doesn't matter if the B12 in animal products comes from contamination or not because you will never get an uncontaminated product (unless you use costly operation room style sterilization procedures). I wonder why the elderly have worse blood, is it aging, drugs they are taking killing the B12 baceria or what? It isn't veganism.

Thanks for all the inspiring responses everyone! Jadedshade - you are totally right, it is more about fruit flesh around the seeds than seeds themselves, the biggest exception might be coconut.

So is that where the B12 comes from in animal sources too - contamination? Milk - cows dragging their udders in @#$%& or their tails slapping against their udders and then the udders not getting completely washed off and the milk contacting the outside of the udder and the @#$%& as the cow is milked. Eggs - the hen lays them and they drop into @#$%& which is absorbed into the shell. Meat

This herb is supposed to be similar to ginseng, and it contains B12, anyone have any experience with it? Thanks! Dang Gui, Angelica sinensis, is used by men and women alike as a superb blood tonic. It is also an important blood vitalizing herb (e.g., it improves blood circulation). Men use it as a muscle building blood tonic. However, Dang Gui is most famous as a women's tonic, because wom

Everyone has their own definition it seems, would your's include: sweet fruits berries vegetable fruits nuts, seeds, beans and grains My definition would include all of the above. The criteria for being included in the fruitarian diet is the ability to self-replicate (it is a seed or it contains seeds). I think fruitarianism would more acurately be called "seedism". O

I only use my Champion juicer about once a week, but I love it for the banana ice cream it makes, I put coconut through it too. The only thing I don't like about the Champion is that the blade always gets stuck on the shaft, I seem to spend as much time breaking the suction on the blade as I spend using the machine. I think that the most essential tool is a food processor, mine is a cheapie, I

Based on the Fit For Life weight loss program you shouldn't eat anything but fresh fruit in the morning until noonish or whenever real cravings start. This is because there is a body cycle which happens from 4am to noon, during this time the body concentrates on cleaning (and cleaning means weight loss) and if you eat anything other than fresh fruit the body will stop cleaning to digest the food.

Forget irradiated food, how about the rest, nutrients as illegal as heroin, all farm animal required to take drugs, bringing back 7 banned chemicals, 3 billion dead through starvation and diseases. And then they ask you to fight this by signing a petition and giving your name and address so that they have a list of "healthy subversives" (ok they call it exercising your constitution r

There was this thread on this raw Australian site about feeding babies. The mother was feeding her baby lots of carrot juice and he became underweight and the authorities took him away for awhile. The thread has a lot of good info on it and recommends some books, especially on page 2.
