At least you are addicted to good foods not SAD food. Wouldn't food addictions be a good thing anyway? Foods come in seasons where for weeks or months (if you were in the wild) you would be eating the same things day after day while the foods are in season. And as you said if you aren't eating the foods then you don't crave them, that's probably a good thing too. I don't think it's anythin

The explanation for the eye color change lies in iridology - each part of the body has a coresponding spot in the iris and the health of the body part can be determined by examining it's the spot of the iris. This site (at the very bottom) shows a blue eye that is covered with brown and notes that: "Many people with brown eyes actually have blue eyes with a brown or gold overlay.

I went into the chat room on the main page (I didn't know there was a chat room before the crash). No one was there, but we could meet up there. I never visit other parts of this site I just go to the forum, which I have bookmarked. For one thing, it's a little tricky to go to the site, once you've bookmarked the forum, since the banner at the top of the forum doesn't link to the site and ther

I like gettting (mild) colds and flues. It's like a detox or a fast, my immune system works overtime and after a few days I feel great. But I'm sorry your co-workers are picking on you. I know how that feels to have your diet blamed for things that it didn't cause.

I should mention why pomegranates are so great. I never gave them much attention until I read this article about how a 1/4 cup of pomegranate juice a day made a big difference in arteriosclerosis. I'm assuming that the participants in this study were on the SAD diet since it doesn't say otherwise. Reversing Arteriosclerosis with Pomegranate Juice Michael Greger, M.D. Folk medicine has

They ARE a little expesive, I consider them a luxery item and we only eat 1 per day. I eat them by cutting off one end so I have a stable base to cut it into fourths. Then I put that fourth in a bowl on top of a paper towel and pick the berries out. The paper towel is both to wipe my hands and keep juice from splattering. It can take a while to eat a pomegrante this way, think TV finger food.

Hey, the pomegranates are in the stores (just as the watermellon are leaving). Anyone else enjoying them or are they not in your stores yet. Anyone have any tips for picking a good one. There is usually no problem with them, I did get one that was not ripe yet and the berries had little color, many pomegranates will have a few bad berries too. But I mostly love them. I get them for $1.65 each (co

I think there needs to be balance between pressuring someone to go raw and not telling ill people that something might help them. I think the ideal thing is to provide the info and let them make up their own mind. So if someone tells you about their health problems and you know something that could help them you got to be the "Good Samaritan" and give them the option of choosing or reje

While I was watching the clip I noticed a link to a deleted scene from "The Secret". It's all about how our senses don't tell us the whole truth and how we send out vibrational energy.

I used to watch John Edward, the psychic/medium, on TV a lot before I started to feel uncomfortable with all the crying, emotions and personal info that people would share. And from what I've learned from watching his show and other psychic show is that your Dad is still with you in spirit and he is probably nudging you and guiding you to find out the info that he wants you to know about him.

Yah, I bruise easy too, I look down at my legs and wonder how I got those bruises because they aren't memorable falls or bumps when I get them. Since you've always had it, I would guess that you probably have a genetic blood clotting condition - like a form of haemophilia or von Willebrand disease. This is an ecelent page about bruising and it lists a lot of causes including vitamin K deficientcy

Raisins are laid out on paper between the rows of grape vines and dried in the sun, here is a picture of that, so they don't use anything to make the sun hotter - like a solar food dehydrator - it's just the sun.

SuperInfinity some things came to mind when I read your post : - Too much vitamin D is as bad as too little and I wouldn't take synthetic vitamins (if that's what you are taking), I'd rather take Alfalfa tablets - this site lists all the vitamins in alfalfa and even says that it has vitamin D. This book has a little blurb that alfalfa helps to rebuild decayed teeth, anytime alfalfa is menti

The Nazis put fluoride in the drinking water of the concentration camps to make the prisoners mellow, it's still being used to mellow people out in the form of Prozac! "“The proportion of Fluorine to Prozac is 57 / 345.79 = .165 or 16.5%. “So, for a typical daily dose of 20mg of Prozac the amount of fluorine would be .165 x 20 = 3.3mg (or 6.6mg for a 40mg/day dose).” Every

In Eating Without Heating by the Boutenkos they have a hummus recipe and it has sprouted chickpeas and a lot of other vegetables - I haven't seen the recipe for awhile so I don't remember how long they said to sprout the beans. I think I remember that the recipe was at least half other vegetables like tomatoes and carrots and that it also had ground-up sesame seeds. In the book they said that Ser

Antibiotics will also kill all bacteria, so you need to take some probiotics so the bad bacteria don't take over. The bacteria game in the colon is played like a game of musical chairs - if there are good bacteria present then is no place for the bad bacteria. Also, I've heard that the best time to take probiotics is in the morning.

I think it's cool that some people set themselves up as gurus even though they are not 100%. I'm sure a lot of gurus/authors are not 100% but they don't mention it or people would have some of the same reactions people have had on this thread. So it's cool that some people are up front with the public about setting their own goals rather than pretending that they are living up to an ideal.

I've been plotting this post since last winter. I've noticed how hair problems (and for that matter sensitive teeth) are often blamed on diet, but I'm thinking some of it could be because of the lack of sunlight during winter. So I thought I'd poll people about their hair and teeth during summer. Both problems are related to calcium, and right now our calcium is being absorbed better than at any

I use clean terry cloth bath and hand towels to store ripening fruit on. The logic behind this is that the terry cloth towels are thick enough to cusion the fruit so that they don't bruise and you can wash them between shopping trips so that there isn't a build-up of fungi/bacteria from spoiling fruit to contaminate the next batch of fruit (although I must admit that I don't wash them EVERY shopp

I'm not much of a zoo person but I've gone along with other people to a zoo and an aquarium this year and I don't like them. The good thing is that people get to know a little about animals but it's really hard to see animals caged up. Admitedly, a zoo is going to give the animals the best care possible for a long time and it's probably better than being in the care of an owner that looses intere

What are the negative effects? These are the possible side effects of MSG, and they go far beyond headaches. I don't know what the side effects of the glutamates in nutritional yeast would be and there are also glutamates in all kinds of healthy foods but it's interesting that nutritional yeast is a source for making yeast extract and here is how you would turn it into yeast extract.
