Proteins are assembled from amino acids, which are also present in plants, not just animal flesh. Your body does not need to ingest an already assembled protein to get what it needs. It needs to have the available components present to assemble as it sees fit. That is why you have large strong animals that eat exclusively a plant-based diet with no flesh and yet they are among the strongest an

To 'fit' into their social environment in the club scene, some choose to get water and maybe lemon, so it doesn't seem odd that they are not drinking anything. Instead of water, others choose a soft drink, obviously not raw nor nutritious but not as strong as alcohol.

Raw does seem to make us more sensitive to our environment, not just emotions, but overall awareness. I find even seemingly 'minor' things, like enjoying the melody of birds singing, especially the soloists who seem to 'forget' it's way past their bedtime or those that start very early in the mornings; the subtle but impressive difference in the ambience when the day is grey and overcast in

I've spoken to someone who said when they were younger in Jamaica they used to eat it raw and have heard of others who did the same as well. Personally, I've only had them cooked. Squirrels however, love to eat them raw, many times competing with homeowners to get them off the tree since they instinctly recognize when they are fit to be picked.

In some instances the problem can be at the receptor site of the cell membrane, resisting the insulin. In other words, glucose/sugar needs to be escorted into the cell. Insulin does the escorting to facilitate the admission. Think of a high-security facility that restricts access. If however you are taken by someone with a valid id badge, then you are allowed in. It's also quite likely that comparable conventinal produce is government subsidized while organic and/or raw is not, or at least very little. So those prices would tend to reflect the overall upwards movement of prices since it is costing more to grow and transport.

May also be related to fermentation of matter that ideally should have been eliminated or maybe not even be present in our body in the first place. Think of what happens if you had your lunch in a sealed plastic bag and forgot it in your car for a few days--during the summer of all times. Not only would it begin to decompose, but the bag may likely swell due to gases created as a result of t

Some pharmaceutical companies hire people with the exclusive job description of coming up with names for their pills. They know that just the name of the med can have a major impact on the prospective buyer's impression of it. Add a patented color backdrop and logo to associate it with and they have an exclusive product. Other manufacturers are also aware of this and take special care when g

Brian: We all have ups and down one time or another. Neither phase lasts continuously on an indefinite basis. As difficult as what you are going through seems to be, keep in mind that beyond the darkest of grey clouds during the day is a beautiful blue sky, after every storm there is a calm and likewise with your low moments, keep reminding yourself: this too shall pass. Brian/1228: The recent event, although it had as a consequence a dear price to pay, could have been a whole lot worse. Instead of getting behind a computer keyboard with the tirade you put on, you could have gotten behind a wheel or had access to a weapon. While you really ticked us off, imagine the impact if you were driving and caused a crash or used the weapon to maim or kill someone. All

As had been said over and over, raw food is not a cure-all. The caliber and content of yesterday's posts were very disconcerting, disturbing and offensive, definitely an indication that major assistance is needed to address something. The good thing is that you acknowledged the need for external intervention and hopefully you will carry through with it. Some of the posts seemed like they wer

Can I juice wheatgrass with a Champion Juicer? It did not work for me. What did work was using a single auger solostar juicer. Another alternative would be add water and wheatgrass in a blender and then strain when you're done. It wouldn't be as strong, but if you already have a blender, then you wouldn't be spending on another appliance.
