Sitting at a red light, several birds nearby were chirping melodious harmonies... Felt like I was getting a personal serenade. Explained to somehow about the many functions of the liver, including performing more than 600 chemical reactions...the look of awe on their face...priceless. Was sprinkled on by light rain, before rolling up the car windows. The smell of the rain, the trees and g

Coco and Greg: You never know where and when that special person will appear from. Remember a while back a couple met through the forums on this board and are still together. Maybe yours could be lurking around with the right matching chemistry as well.

"We must be in time", said they; "First we study, then we play; That is how we keep the rule, when we froggies go to school." Master bullfrog, grave and stern, called his classes in their turn, Taught them how to nobly s

Casabianca by Felicia Hemans 1793-1825 The boy stood on the burning deck Whence all but he had fled; The flame that lit the battle's wreck Shone round him o'er the dead. Yet beautiful and bright he stood, As born to rule the storm; A creature of heroic blood, A proud, though child-like form. The flames rolled on–he would not go Without his Father's word; That fathe

According to physics, in the aabsence of an opposing force, an item in motion will continue on the at the existing momentum. Examples of these opposing forces are gravity, applying brakes to a vehicle, muscles and ligaments involved in movement, etc. In it's own way this principle seems to also apply in life, in that too often our goals are hindered because of external or even internal forces

Anyone want to take a break from the usual? If so, join in with poems and verses that inspire, provide humor or is downright silly. However, please...keep political and controversial topics out of it. There are more than enough posts on every perspective on these subjects on the forum. Here's my first: The Cookie Thief by Valerie Cox A woman was waiting at an airport one nig

I did not pursue to verify the accuracy of the statement, but a while back someone posted that valencia peanuts are not affected by aflatoxins due to the type of soil they grow in. In any event, I've seen that some of the peanut butters at health food stores specify that they are made from valencia peanuts.

I know of a non-raw person who regularly drinks orange juice (pasteurized) and adds liquid chlorophyll to it and swears by it. I would imagine that doing the same with all fresh products should be even better.

Regarding feeling cold,I did not handle it as well as now, after making dietary changes. Living in a predominantly warm climate, I wasn't too fond of the relatively few cold days. However, now when it does get cold or when I travel to colder areas, it's a breeze to handle it and I actually enjoy the weather change.

Using the premise that seeing those who eat foods uncooked have serious health problems question the long term wisdom of it could equally be applied to questioning the wisdom of eating foods that are cooked and seeing an even greater amount of health issues i.e. men with stomachs that are 2-3 times as wide as their bodies, cardiovascular problems, ladies having distressful gynegological problems

These can also be used in recipes as well and still derive benefits as well. Many families of Caribbean background regularly include coconuts in

After I switched to using coconut oil on my face by chance, it turns out that my body loves it and seems to look forward to it, although currently I'm not experiencing a coconut craving in my diet at present. Interestingly, ever so often, I can taste it a while after I've applied it and it comes across as very pleasant.

You could roll banans in a mixture of crushed nuts, coconuts and liquid sweetner such as honey or agave. Another could be dates or date/nuts ball rolled in coconut & liquid sweetner. Smoothies & beverages can be great with coconuts. i.e. strawberry/coconut; pineapple/coconut.

You may want to examine to see if the craving is tied to emotional issues. Those items may have served as comfort foods for you in the past and your body could still associate them with solace, even though intellectually and physically you know they are not otherwise beneficial.
