Congrats on trying a colonic, rawbryan! Before the first one it can seem like such an unpleasant, scary thing to do. But then afterwards, you realize you were scared of nothing and it was actually pleasant. Did you go to a colonic hydrotherapist? Karen DeVeaux

I went to a talk last night by Tonya Zavasta. She has been raw vegan for 10 years and is 50 and looks fantastic! Her talk was very inspirational and entertaining - she was quite funny. Well, anyway, she said that to gain weight that you need to eat less often. Eating 6 meals or snacks a day or eating all day long keeps your metabolism up and eating less often lowers it so you can gain weight.

It took Angela Stokes & Tonya Zavasta 3 years to transition to 100% raw foods, where Matt Monarch did it overnight. So, we all need to go at our own pace. You should be proud that at least you already eat some fruits and veggies. Some people haven't seen a raw fruit or veggie in ages. I believe the 2 worst foods are refined sugar & starches. Try to slowly eliminate those and repla

I was at a raw food workshop this past weekend offered by www.rawinanutshell.com and she just squeezed the skin on half of an avocado to pop the meat out. She also just kind of hit the pit with her knife and it grabbed the pit and she shook it off to throw it away. We all loved her technique with the avocado and we're all saying we were going to try it! Karen DeVeaux

Wow, you have such healthy cravings, pineapple girl, so I would definitely listen to them. Your body wants those nutrients. When I saw this topic I thought it would be about someone having a craving for chocolate or hamburger or something. ;-) Uti, thanks for telling us how to make raw rice - that sounds great! How long do you soak the chia seeds and do you drain them before putting them i

I loved that video. I agree that if you find you keep yo-yoing on and off the 100% raw food diet, that you should consider just doing a high raw diet then there will be no guilt if you eat a little cooked food and you are less likely to binge. I also agree that if you are going to eat some cooked food that you should to try to be happy while you are eating it. Why add the negative emotions into t

Good point, pam! Apes, which are very strong muscular animals, only eat a few bugs for their 'meat' and otherwise live off of fruits, veggies, bark, shoots, etc. It's the same thing with dairy, people are always asking where do you get your calcium? Well, cows don't drink milk after being weaned and they get their calcium from the greens they eat. Again, not that we are like a cow. But it make

That is a great story, Camille! I forwarded that on to my husband so he can keep an eye out for any contests. :-) I finally started using my saladacco and it makes yummy pasta out of zucchini or yellow squash and I made some yummy sauce to put on it. It is so easy and really takes care of those pasta cravings. I highly recommend it!

Camille, you are right. We just want the best for our son. Your book sounds awesome! I bet it will be a best seller. Do you have an agent or publisher yet? The reason I ask is that my husband has written a science fiction book and he is hunting for an agent. Thanks, Pam, that is so nice of you to say. My 'words of wisdom', such as they are ;-) are now at . I hope you both are doing great

Likeitornot, geez your posting seemed pretty harsh but maybe you didn't mean it that way. Here is more info. She was on dry PurinaOne when she got cancer & infections. We switched her to canned Alpo at first, a step up according to the holistic vet and she did do much better and recovered from the infections. Then I switched her to a 100% raw diet of mostly NDN food and later some Primal. I f

Hi all. Thanks for your posts. I have started a blog at . Entering my journal there keeps me from getting carried away and checking out all the posts on this board which I unfortunately do no have time for. Just like Camille said, it is addictive! Thanks for the tips for bringing yourself back into the moment, prism. That's kind of what I do. I just try to look around and appreciate something

I just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm not going to post for awhile. I am spending way too much time here and cutting back on this will help me to get more sleep. I've also gotten carried away with posting on the other threads. So, to earlier nights in bed which I desperately need. Take care all.

I searched online and found one person who said eating more greens cleared up this problem for him. I also read that dry skin and bruising easily can be two symptoms of hypothyroidism. I heard iodine helps support the thyroid and they have more about that on curezone.com. And lastly, are you drinking enough water especially since you work outside and probably sweat a lot. Dehydration can ca

As long as the raw milk is tested, which I think laws require it to be, I think it is a much better choice than pasteurized milk. I have a friend who recently started getting raw milk and makes kefir with it. Before she had made her kefir with pasteurized milk and now she says she sees improvement in her digestive system. Dr. Mercola is definitely pro raw milk, even though he cannot drink it hims

I don't have that brand, but I do have a mini-trampoline and when I use it it is very good exercise. I believe it helps in detox and to move things through you lymph system, as well as being good exercise. But if anyone has bad knees, I don't think they would be able to use it.

8/1/1 is really 80/10/10 and means 80% carbs, 10% protein, 10% fat. I have always heard that tiredness can be mistaken for hunger. So maybe you need to get more sleep, just like most of us. ;-) Other thoughts are to eat some juicy fruits. Drink a glass of water, because thirst can be mistaken for hunger also. My last thought is to find something that interests you to do, draw, write, read,

Cooked foods were my friends too, but they didn't treat me well, just like your cigs. is a good EFT site and they have a free emanual and lots of good articles. You can go there and search for cigarettes and see what articles turn up.
