The comment at the start of this thread reminds me of another quote : "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win." -- Mahatma Gandhi I think that some people are still transitioning to the fight you part

Interesting... to me it shows just the opposite arugula. You could look at the whole human race and say that we are all the same because we have two arms, legs and eyes etc. You could say that all birds are the same. Heck, you could call all mammals the same depending on how far you wish to extend the generalisation, and what criteria you hold to determine uniqueness. Is your cup half full

Awesome Kwan. What you are saying is very real to me as well. Giving IS receiving ! It is the action that allows ones awareness to understand and perceive abundance.

Dunno about the rest of you, but I feel like over the last several months my general level of happiness and gratitude has multiplied amazingly. It feels like it is starting to come together, just when it seems we are heading into some "rough" times. IMO wellbeing is a state of mind first, thing or place second. Gratitude is where its at !

Ok.. for those that are new to it, you get a seed such as peas, sunflower, lentil, buckwheat, alfalfa, brocoli etc.. etc.. You soak it over night or for the required time to sprout, then insted of leaving it in a jar you sprinkle onto a tray of soil ( preferably mineral enriched ). Then you water it once a day until greens fill the tray to about 4 "s long. Snip it all off with a pair of s

Hey all. Just thought I'd ask, I'm quite curious ? I only just discovered them a few months ago and have been developing my systems to grow them ever since. I can't rate them highly enough BTW, they are easy to grow, highly nutritious, independently create half a salad, taste great, and cut down your food bill.

Oh yeah Tam.. that worked. I've actually seen it before, its quite amazing. I actually don't see it as all that ominous at all. Earth has volcanoes that are constantly erupting, or even geological shifts which can cause "destruction" on a scale soo massive that it makes that thing like a sneeze in a thunderstorm by comparison. The fact that it's man made is a moot point to me. After

Kwan Surely you understand that I hold you in the highest respect ? Your expression is awesome !! If I seem to be "picking on you", or offering "opposition", then it could only be a result of my over enthusiastic responces to a persons comments that I find most stimulating. I'm sorry if I get carried away... I think that I can get a bit intense sometimes. Or at least, I m

Hmmm.. I actually don't relate to that Kwan . To me, that segment is fairly materialistic in its perspective, quantifying the act of giving with a physical substance. IMO giving can be a gardeners care for their plants, an adults mindfulness of a stray child, or a citizens considerate intervention to remove an obstruction that has been left on a roadway. All these things are giving, and if w

Thats fairly cool, thanks for posting Omega. It just goes to show that despite the pressures which can make many people seem amoral or even hostile by nature, the basic motivational force aligns with goodness. Tam, IMO this kind of thing happens non stop as a part of everyday life, just in forms which people don't necessarily recognise the same way. If you look at the bonding and sharing that

Tamukha and CB While I can't give any real evidence for this for obvious reasons, IMO the state of our current technology far from defines all of the potentials for it that exist. One only needs to observe its progression through the last hundred years to become aware that it is forever evolving. Platic is another product that has been developed from a fundementally flawed psyche or objective

I'm grateful for having soo much stuff. I have a whole and healthy body. A great family. Some excellent friends. A positive attitude. A bed to sleep in at night. As much food as I would like. A car, and the list goes on. It is amazing when I stop and think about it. It is so easy to overlook things when one becomes accustomed to always having them. It feels very theraputic to refocus on how gr

Oh and BTW.. my idea of Pan is not evil, just realy not human which might make him seem frightening to some. I picture him as a powerful gardian of the forrest who could be treacherous if crossed, but only in responce to ones own inner immorality or lack of character.

Kia Ora Trive How is life in Whakatane ? If I've ever been there it would be just passing through. I am a JAFFA born and bread myself. LaV / Tam That was supposed to read macrocarpa. If I was giving the guy a dozen "bears" as my spelling error suggests, I'd personally have made that trade for a macrocarpa FORREST ! "Beers" are indeed a local currency here, although th

Mmm... I gotta say I'm happy here. N.Z is subtropical in the top of the Nth island and temperate in the rest of it. Hot and sunny most of the year with cold dry winters in the top of the Sth island, going down to cooler climes in the middle and bloody cold winters from there on down. Yeah its a nice chunk of wood for sure, nah I actually scored it off a neighbour who was cutting down and old m

Well.. just like I probably mentioned in your first iteration LaV I reckon it is a completely individual understanding.. like all things. I think that the general meaning is associated with a commonly agreed level of awareness that someone has of our devine nature, and the subsequent behavioural paterns that are associated with it. Although my own idea of it will still vary from the next pers

I've got alot of thoughts on this subject, so I'll just rattle some off as I think about it. You ARE unique. There is only one of you. It is not necessary to justify who you are. Bliss exists within knowing this. Being who you are IS contributing. Beingness is the state of grace. Our considerations of worthiness change like seasons, but only YOU always remain. When you choose to recog

Indeed... but it's always interesting seeing where a thread goes I don't have any wood stories at present, except maybe that I have a log sitting at my place which I intend to carve one day. It must weigh about 2 ton or so and had to be brought up to my place via bulldozer... soo much potential The 10 year plan !

Just thought I'd start a thread for all you wood and timber enthusiasts out there. I thought we might need one after reading some comments about it in another thread . I LOVE wood ! From its untouched life supporting origins, through to its crafted forms of artistry and function, timber is devine.
