Danielle, how are you feeling today? I hope all is well. Well, I am feeling torn about eating raw. On one hand, I feel great when I eat 100% raw. However, I am really, really worried about my hair. I have type O blood, which supposedly needs more protein, according to "eat right for your blood type." Danielle, do you know what your blood type is? Plus, there are so many good (an

Hi Danielle: I am glad to hear that you are feeling better -- and am glad to hear that you have friends nearby who are supporting you and expressing their concern. I am really proud of you, and impressed that you are strong enough to carry on as usual (even though it is difficult). You will pull through this! I am also glad to hear that you plan to start going to the gym instead of running alo

Danielle: Date Adam! I think that the answer is so clear that you already know it yourself. Even if you DO get into a relationship with Nate you will constantly wonder if he did it because you gave him an ultimatum. Also, if he is so hot and cold when you are not in a relationship, just think of how hot and cold he will be once you are in one. People don't change. We can't expect them to. Su

Hi Ladies! Danielle, glad to hear you are enjoying early morning work outs! Sometimes it can be tough to get up in the am, but increased energy all day makes it worth it, no? Amy: Wow! that is so cool you have a Thai roommate! Great way to really immerse yourself in the culture! It might take awhile for her to get used to your "weird" eating habits :-). Why don't you make her a b

I need some advice about this -- hair loss. It's really bad. I have very curly hair, which I have grown to love. I hated it in high school, and used to straighten it every day. The problem is, starting about 7-8 years ago it began to fall out. At the time it was okay because it was really thick. However, it is getting thinner and thinner each year. People can't really tell because it is curly and

Hi Ladies: Danielle, why are you stressed out? Feeling the need to get drunk is definitely an indication of unnecessary stress. Is exercise helping at all? Maybe you could consider doing yoga as well to reduce stress. Amy, that is so exciting! It sounds like you are really getting into a life in Thailand. How long do you plan to stay there? I can't wait to hear about your adventures. W

Welcome, I know this will be a long and difficult journey. However, it sounds like you are ready for the healthy challenge. A good way to stay raw and keep your calorie intake up is to eat Lara bars, dried fruit, and nuts. I look forward to reading about your journey.

Have you tried to find a form of exercise that you enjoy? How about swimming? The only way to really stick to an exercise plan is to figure out a way to enjoy it. Good luck on your journey, sounds like you are doing great so far!

Danielle: That's a good idea -- to just tell people you are vegan. Although people still view that as somewhat extreme, it seems as though society has learned to accept veganism (at least more than raw veganism). Isn't it ironic that WE feel the need to defend our lifestyle choices, even though we eat more healthfully than 99% of the population? I guess people are jut programmed to think they n

Hello again! Well my body is NOT HAPPY with the yogurt. I usually have no digestive problems, but today has been not fun at all. I am sure it was from the yogurt since my body isn't used to dairy (it is SOOOO bad for us!!!). I finished my project and emailed it into my senior research associates. Now I am free, free! It was kinda hanging over my head since I didn't get a chance to work on it

111. Protein
I have been off and on a raw vegan since October. It is going very well so far. I have noticed vast improvements in my energy, weight, and skin quality. However, I continue to be concerned that I don't have good sources of protein. My main sources of protein are sprouted beans and nuts. I have been on vacation for 2 weeks, and have only found nuts and hummus (not exactly raw) as sources of

Hi Ladies: SO sorry for mixing you up. Silly me! I guess I was just rushing at the internet cafe and wasn't thinking. Well, I dropped the group off at the airport this morning and am now at my friend's apartment in Tel Aviv. He is at work, and I have the place to myself. All I really want to do is go down to the beach since it is so sunny and beautiful outside. However, I need to work on a

Hi Danielle: Don't worry about eating more. It sounds like what you are eating is very healthy, and you are being quite active as well! Maybe add a bit more protein to your diet? I bet you will be less hungry if you do that. Also, I am sure it has been difficult for you to struggle with an eating disorder so much. However, focusing on your health is better than worrying about your weight.

Why are you so hard on yourself for eating a reasonable amount of raw food? Is this a weight thing? Remember, focus on your health! Listening to your body is an important part of focusing on your h
