Hello there ladies! Meow, your work-out last night sounds like it was great! What a wonderful feeling to know that you have pushed yourself to the limit! Maybe next time you could have a little dinner like an hour or two before your workout and then a smallish dinner when you get home later that night. Yeah, night eating can be a killer! Thanks for your kind words about my workouts. Howev

Welcome veganjuiicegrrl! Sounds like you are way ahead of the game -- transitioning from vegan to raw vegan is probably a lot eaiser that for someone who used to be even a lacto-ovo vegetarian. No, raw foodists do not eat tofu, soy milk, or any other processed soy products. In general, soy is not usually recommended. Surprise, surprise! Raw edimame should be okay, but Nathalie Rose warns aga

Well, I just got back from that 6am spinning class which I managed to wake up for despite my late night. Apple, I totally agree with you. I need much less sleep raw! Also, when I woke up I felt fabulously empty from not eating the night before. The benefits of going to bed on a mostly empty stomach far outweigh the instant gratification of night eating. Now it is just a matter of sticking wi

Apple: Everything sounds great! I am glad that you are feeling so well on raw. Your life sure does sound very exciting, and I wholeheartedly support your decision to go to Thailand. Sounds amazing. And how lucky you are to have a boyfriend who is so supportive of your adventures :-). Well, I went out with a friend and had one glass of red wine. He kept on asking me if I wanted to eat somet

Hi Meow: Thanks for your feedback. Lucky you that it was so easy to transition! Regardless, I admire you, and definitely look at you as a raw food inspiration . Also, very cool about the no PMS. I am sure Raw Foodism is just full of unexpected pleasant bodily surprises :-). Well, I am WAY back on track and ate much less today than usual. This was my day: -that salad and cut-up veggie

I just ate lunch at the small holiday party -- salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red bell peppers. I think it had olive oil and vinegar or something along those lines as dressing. Also had carrots, bell peppers and celery. I will probably study for my Crim Pro all day and the go to spinning class at 6pm. After spinning I'll have a salad for dinner, and that will be my food for the da

Wow, Apple, Congrats!!! That is awesome!!! Also, thanks for your encouragement. I woke up with a food and alcohol hangover -- awful!! I haven't eaten anything yet today and am still not hungry. However, my professor invited me to a holday party for lunch. There are lots of veggies and salad, so I will just eat that. Plan to go to spinning later this afternoon. Will keep you updated a

Wow, i feel awful! Such a contrast from alst week when I felt wonderful after eating 100% raw for only a few days. Just another testament to why raw is the best way to be. I am sold...now it is just a matter of sticking to it! I think I'll have just water until noon.

Hi Apple and Meow -- sounds like you are both doing great!!! Well girls, I have some bad news. I totally fell off of the wagon. I think I need to start again at day #1. This was my day: -blackberries & some nuts -red pepper and tahina -apple -banana -big salad at the hanukah party & lots of cut-up veggies -several glasses of wine. Good morning! Well, I am back up to 165.2. At least it is less than I started at, but I am amazed how easily my weight fluctuates. If I stick to my 100% raw plan with few nuts and (NO LARA BARS!), I lose immediately. If I cheat at all (eat too many nuts and dried fruits or eat cooked food), I gain immediately. I guess it is good to see the direct impact of what I am eating/not eating, but I a

I am glad that you were excited to discover the blen

All of the above are very important -- taking care of yourself on the inside. However, don't forget about the outside! Wear sunscreen on all of your exposed skin every day, even in the winter! Don't forget hands, they age as quickly as your face, if not more so. Also, wear a hat and sunglasses! I use Purpose moisturizer every day with SPF 15. Also don't forget to moisturize at night. I am

Hi Apple: Just checking in. Didn't make spinning because the class was full, so I did 50 min on the elliptical machine and 15ish minutes of core exercise and stretching. Not hungry at all! Lately I haven't been very hungry -- just eat out of habit, I guess. Today I think I am going to listen to my body and just eat when I am hungry and what I am hungry for. I just ate a box of blackberrie

Spinning tomorrow am and back to the study grind...

Sounds good :-). Glad that I am helping to keep you honest. For lunch I had a big salad and an apple. This is getting easier each day, like the longer I stay raw the less it even occurs me to eat non-raw things. Also, I have noticed that I can taste subtleties in food much better than I could before, and I get excited when I have an especially crunchy apple! Here's to looking at food in a w

Hi Apple: Sounds good. Sometimes we just need a bit of warm food on a cold winter's day :-). Day #5 100% raw so far for me...a banana, box of blackberries, and green tea. 164.2 again. I guess I really did lose 1.8 lbs, but maintained it for today. I am going to skip food before bed and see what the result is on the scale tomorrow am. Have a good day!

Day #4 100% raw success! b: blackberries s: banana l: usual salad -- grape tomatoes, pepper, lettuce, cucumber, flax seeds, cauliflower, seaweed, raw hummus, 1/2 avocado with vinegar and pepper s: apple, melon d: same salad as above, orange s: apple and some raw nuts. I was tired, so I swam 50 laps instead of the usual 66. Final exam tomorrow. Not sure if I will swim, but will defi

Thanks, Apple. I totally agree with you! We are going to look AMAZING! People already tell me that they think that I look 23 or 24 even though I am 28. I know that isn't such a big difference, but if my physical age continues to stay behind my chronological age at this rate, then I will just look younger and younger than I actually am (we are all vain, don't worry about it! others are too -- th

Hi Therese: I like your idea of maybe not eating at home in the evenings at all. I have a similar situation in that I eat most of my meals at school. I definitely don't need to eat anything at home in the evenings, because I usually eat dinner at school. Do you prepare your food for the next day in the evening? I do, which is my weak point. Maybe a solution will be to not enter the kitchen a

Well, not such good news. I ate nuts when I got home. :-(. At least they were raw. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to be 100% raw AND not eat at night. Wish me luck!

Hi Apple: If you want, we can just both post on your string. No need to write on two different ones. You are right -- it is silly! I am "committed to RAW" too, so I can just write here if that would be easier. If you wouldn't mind sharing you string, that is :-). You sound like you are doing great, congrats!! It is okay to alter your food plan -- that is what is great about raw,

Sorry about those other 2 posts. Don't know why this site won't let you delete posts, just edit them. Oh well. Anyway, Day 3 100% raw is going well so far b: blackberries l: less than half of my usual salad, since wasn't so hungry + 1/4 of an avocado s throughout the afternoon: few bites of an apple (kind of mushy so I threw it away), banana, small bowl of melon (felt like melon instead

I really appreciate this night eating discussion, and am glad to know that I am not the only one that struggles with this. In fact, I would say that I am perfectly disciplined all day until I get home late at night. The times in my life in which I have dropped weight quickly with no effort have been times in which I have not had access to food at night. I know this about myself, but it is toug

You are probably just reacting to changes of weather. I have no doubt that if you stick through this bought of illness, you will return to your energized and happy self! Good for you for staying raw even through an illness. Maybe you should try to drink some green lemonade. It has a ton of antioxidants and will probably clear your system out. Feel better!
