Gems, in my personal experience, I can say, DEFINITELY DON'T WORRY! When I first when raw, I ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate (I earned myself quite the reputation). I clearly remember in my mind (it took almost a year of raw), the first time I felt what a "true sense of being full" felt like. I've been raw for more than four years now, and I don't even thin

Funny, the book doesn't mention anything about sterility and organ damage. I am speechless!

Diatomaceous earth is a wonderful way to pull radionuclides from the body, internally, I try to remember to have a big swig of bentonite from time to time... But if you are more interested in silica, you can always forage for wild horsetails (best served steamed lightly). They are apparently best to pick when young and resembling asparagus... but that's one of the highest wild sources of silic

And of course, abstinence from such things is frowned upon. This is an issue that gets me quite riled up. Glad to always see more press about it.

My family gets cases of Manitoba Harvest delivered to the house... I have to figure out the exact measurements, but it's something like $10/big container x 10 containers or whatever, and basically works out to *wholesale* price.

In the beginning, it's discipline. I'd imagine, over time (especially the course of years), you just think less and less about things that don't make you feel awesome? Ironically--raw food WAS the tipping point for me, where I realized I could only do all good for my body, and the whole concept of punishment/starvation/guilt/etc. disappeared. I was in a relationship when I first went raw wi

Uh, sorry Rab. I had no idea about any of that until I googled it, honestly. I'll just stick my foot in my mouth. No harm meant! Onward and upward, indeed! I also think once you get a taste of what it's like to have a clear mind and experience really being healthy and mobile in your body... well, who would want to give that up?

Greece has got it going on... I apologizes if this treads too closely on the "no economics" policy, and may be deleted if necessary. But my point is, the HIGH SPEED CHAOS of what is happening globally has a funny way of helping communities find each other again. Although I love sharing wisdom with people all over the world on the internet... and do like a bit of imported du

I love famous people who come out of the closet with things like this and draw attention to the positive aspects of it. Instead of, "OH, NO, you might smash your baby co-sleeping." Or, "Why breastfeed? We have some genetically modified garbage in a packet instead!" Nevermind the incidence of permanent damage/death from vaccinations... The future of our planet depends

Well, yesterday morning my boyfriend caught them in the act, in the process of graveling and cementing boulders into everything. We went back just now to assess the damage... There were three springs... ...and we discovered all three, in 24 hours, were broken open again by other humans who went to collect my water. This does restore my faith in humanity. The WORST part about all of this

Some people cross train tracks to get into the park, but there are TONS AND TONS of other entrances that DO NOT require crossing tracks. A fence would have sufficed. Hundreds of people cross tracks to get to the beaches and nobody has gone and poured cement all over the beaches. The city also said it wasn't obstructing anyone's rights to clean water, because, according to HEALTH CANADA, tap wa

Sometimes, though, it's not always pleasant, when your mind is clear enough to plug into the earth, you plug it in, and the first thing you hear is the earth screaming in pain. The truth is, reality is harsh. That's a huge reason why people tune out. It takes the ULTIMATE strength to keep an open heart in the face of all the horrors happening around us today. It does get overwhelming. Eatin

Also, as technology becomes more complex, it is more difficult to see its problems. :O Like living in a giant parking lot... We need to find a way to make transportation CONGRUENT with the earth, that's all.

You might want to YouTube a guy named Dan Winters. He is SUPER FASCINATING. He's really into raw foods, DNA, tons of esoteric things, and talks about how the perfect death in a fractal, nature-based environment will allow the soul to leave the body in the most coherent state intact. Sacred death. Pretty cool. Kind of out there, but totally worth the time. He's got lots of books, and degrees...

Sometimes I prefer to fast that way! As long as you are sufficiently hydrated before you sleep, and hydrate yourself when you wake in the morning, you should be fine. Fasting or not, I always sleep with a cup of water by my bed, and usually enjoy a few 4am sips. And also, don't do anything crazy, like run a marathon. Take it easy and enjoy some nature time, or read an inspiring book.

This is part of the reason I'm writing a science fiction story in which people fly through the air, the highways were all torn up and replanted with fruit trees. Utoooooooooooooopia~ All I can say is, I feel you. Be wary of anyone who tells you XYZ piece of technology is being implemented to "make life easier." I think all technology is not necessarily bad, IF: a) we understan

I feel like I generated some negative karma by watching that. I wish people were more in touch with their bodies. I hope some of those people figure it out. There is nothing like knowing what a moment of optimal health REALLY feels like, until you have the experience. I grew up on Wal Mart, (barely) raised by mom who worked three jobs and fed us nothing but fast food and TV dinners. Some ni

Today, the city dumped gravel down the artisan spring I visit to collect water and paved it over with concrete. According to the city, this is not a violation of human rights because I am provided "clean" water via tap. I have anger inexpressible in the third dimension. HeavenHands, I completely agree about irresponsible agriculture. People complain about expensive organics being flown in from XYZ, but is local conventional any better when it means the destruction of my local biosphere? Organic PERMACULTURE is where we all need to be headed. But rooftop gardens are a lot more practical and lower-impact than, say, rooftop cattle ranches. I have never neede

Honestly, it's got to be way more environmentally-friendly than murdering giant cows?? If "vegan" means doing no harm to sentient creatures, eating insects has got to be closer to vegan than eating cows... especially when you consider the slash-and-burn of forests for crops and cattle, to all the blood spilled for petrol involved in the transportation, etc. If my blood tests came bac

It's my goal this summer to somehow stash about a month's worth of stuff, just in case a mothership flies out of the sun and the grid goes out. I'm very interested in survival, but very unprepared. =( Other than, I can recognize dandelion greens! I'm really into stocking up on powerful medicinals, too, so should I ever have to treat myself...

Blood thinners in excess can cause bruising... and when I read about bruising, it made me start to think about the herbs I was taking. It's the only other explanation I could find that made sense, besides no explanation, or lack of vitamin C and bioflavonoids.

Apparently, there are four different kinds of cinnamon... and the one sold commonly in stores doesn't have nearly the health benefits of the true cinnamon. I will have to see if I can rediscover the Latin names. I wonder which species these studies are done with?

Mmmm.... pthalates. The next best thing I think we have are the "nearly expired" sections. Where I shop, organic tomatoes went down to half price because they're dark red and getting a bit wrinkly... but I'll buy a huge sack, and definitely eat them all before they spoil!
