Actually (unfortunately I have no idea where anymore), I read about the incidence of peanut allergies spiking to unprecedented in levels in the 90s at exactly the same time they started adding PEANUT OIL to vaccines. Go figure...

I never thought gluten bothered me until I stopped eating it. Then, suddenly, I never thought I could feel so good. I've been off it for years. The odd encounter with a non-wheat-free-tamari at a raw potluck or something is enough to make my stomach feel sore for several days... like a dull, nagging, ache sore. It's not human food. Grains are bird food. And I don't want a bird brain, or

I never, ever got into raw soups until I started living with my man. He is the master of raw soups. He always does a creamy avocado base, and adds tomatoes, sometimes a bit of greens, some onion, always fresh herbs like dill or cilantro, sea salt (and bl@ck p3pp3r), a bit of yeast or a teaspoon of miso... and they are SO GOOD. Young coconut makes a nice base, too! And the trick is to warm

THANK YOU for sharing. I mean, bees need more bleach, right? >.< Very useful to keep an eye on this, because the last thing I'd do is love to inadvertently support the lizard banking agenda. ^.~ I prefer to support Mother Earth, and small businesses making a hard effort to really transform the way we conduct ourselves! Though, sometimes I wonder, if all 7 billion of us demanded org

I was really depressed before I went raw, completely the biggest mess. Over time (it did take TIME, I can't say for how long), I began to experience moments of peace, clarity, and belongingness that were previously alien to me. Of course, it didn't last, and it would dive. I went through some insane detox, wild weight fluctuations (just my body running its course), you name it. But event

It's a special time when you are in the place and the mindset to be completely 100% raw. And it depends how you want to split hairs. I was 100% for an unbroken year and a half (not a single bean, not a single bit of potato, well, those are the only cooked foods I eat!), but you don't really know about those dates or sundried tomatoes, do you? I mean, I didn't cook them, but I'll bet my bottom

Do you eat a wide variety of foods? Have you ever used a tracker like fitday to get a vague sense of what you normally eat, and what you could possibly be missing? (It won't tell the whole story, but it's a great start!) It would also be very easy to work in other whole foods for supplementation, e.g., spirulina in a smoothie, sprinkle kelp dust into everything. I'm assuming those are wh

Changing your lifestyle can make you a bit like a snake shedding its skin... or a butterfly shedding its cocoon. Sometimes old things fall away. Sometimes people just go different ways, even if there is no bad blood or toxicity. It's part of growing. Just be yourself and you will attract what suits you best! =) Periods of solitude can be absolutely necessary for growth, same like strict mon

My body temperature has always been slightly lower (97-98). Not sure how true this is, but I am a negative bloodtype, and not all, but lots of people with negative blood report the same thing. But that is normal (since childhood), and I don't have any other symptoms. I would still check the thyroid and everything to make sure you are well. If you feel cold and tired, it seems like something el

I do like the taste of raw corn (SO SWEET, why would anyone cook it?!), but like I said, I'm not really sure where to get my hands on the good stuff around here. A little bit in a salsa or soup could be nice. If everyone on earth stopped eating meat and only occasionally ate sustainably grown corn to make a snack or jazz up a salsa, the ecosystem would be in a VASTLY different state than it pr

I did use fitday lots when I firsts went raw, mostly out of curiosity! Zinc and selenium were the two that needed the most attention, and that is easily remedied with pumpkin seeds and brazil nuts. Seaweeds are an awesome source of minerals, too. Fitday doesn't account for organic foods grown in richer soil. So, if you can ace the charts with Fitday and manage to squeeze in some organics, you'

Some quick things that have always helped me... LOTS OF FOOD ON HAND, always. If you start to get hungry and you don't have a snack/giant fruit bowl full of food, it gets very hard to stay raw quickly. Quality food. Sometimes conventional mealy apples at the grocery store just aren't appealing. Seasonal food, fresh food, local food, you'll have to really figure out where to shop and it gets

You can also listen to your body. Sine I've been raw, the odd time I've been out somewhere/in a situation/whatever where I decided to go ahead and eat some veggies in fried oil... the resulting feeling... is incredibly disgusting and nasty. I think if you learn to really listen to your body, you can determine what is healthy and what isn't. Sometimes I like to warm raw soups in a pot on

I honestly feel sad sometimes even around cooked vegetables. When things SMELL good--it's the life and the nutrients floating into the air and out of the food! Ironic. But some things are just so delicious raw, it makes me sad to think that everyone has to boil/bake/fry the heck out of them, and they don't even know what they're missing! Some people even get really scared about trying some

Sometimes I post extremely thoughtful replies to people's thread, and I get an automated response accusing me of being a spam robot! =( I'm not posting any links, talking about selling anything (I understand forums DO get flooded with GARBAGE NASTY ADS from time to time), but I'm just wondering what triggers the mechanism? Coconut oil melts at 76F. The body's temperature is 98.6F. HEATING oils is not good, but allowing them to soften at less than body temperature is not going to inflict any more damage than eating it raw. I would just steer very clear of any corn that's not organic... I wish I could get purple corn. I'm sure that would be amazing!

Just for the record, when I did have weird incidences with wax (once as vegan, once as raw vegan, years apart), I never EVER had a lack of fats in my diet. *wipes off hemp mustache* But everyone IS different. That would be interesting if someone knew more about an actual mechanism for earwax and toxin removal!

This happened to me twice in my life, suddenly and randomly. I woke up one morning and thought I was deaf. It was horrifying, until I found out it was just... earwax. I was told there is apparently no rhyme or reason. I researched it heavily and found nothing really informative. It's just a mystery of the body. (TMI alert) The first time, I also had my ears flushed with water, because th

I try to get a nice serving of brazils in at least once a week, for the selenium. Selenium is SO important for brain function and synergizes with melatonin. Also, zinc. Pumpkin seeds in the salads. Not a lot, just enough to always keep some amount floating around in my diet. Nuts and seeds are awesome sources of minerals. They get a lot of bad rap with the 8-1-1 crowd, but I think adding th

Doesn't David Wolfe talk about this? Anyway, the part you would eat raw is definitely different from the part you would smoke. (Lighting plant matter on fire kills the enzymes, anyway. ) I've always been really curious about adding a bit of leaf to smoothie, but alas, it's not something I can find at the health food store. >.< Bill, have you noticed any salubrious effects from addin
