I'm trying to move my daughter onto a high raw diet. She is 2. Previously a meat and potato eater, it has been, and still is, a challenge. She is a great fruit eater, but won't eat most vegetables. I used to disguise her veggies in quiche and rissoles etc Now I juice veggies and fruit for her bottle when she has her afternoon sleep (so I can clean her teeth when she wakes!) and she has been hav

It's so hard working out for yourself where to find a balance esp in terms of cravings and cost. In my experience, it's a constant journey so starting at what you've described and going from there sounds great.

I also find I'm making a lot more trips to shops because no matter how much I buy on Saturday, by Wednesday we seem to be very low on fruit! Especially bananas. I also spend a lot more time shopping since going raw because i've sussed out prices and foods all over the place so I get my produce from 7 different shops instead of 2!

Just like my current raw onion fetish, phantom! (see my thread lol) I also have been eating those until I break into a cold sweat and then have an afternoon sleep while my daughter has hers. very interesting olives: a source of calcium and sodium. deficiency of calcium may lead to: muscle cramps, pins and needles in arms and legs, low resistence to viral infections, heart palpitations, toot

I see your point maui_butterfly. I was only thinking in terms of not fuelling the fire by eating the 'wierdest' (non-mainstream) foods in front of her and provoking / concerning her more. While I still see my point, I also agree with yours as well. Is that possible?? lol

The most important thing is for you to try and not get stressed about it (hard, I realise), because the stress will do your body no good. Let her talk, let her tell you, just listen poitely with a little smile. Surely she will have exhausted her lecture / arguments after a few days? SHe can't just say the same things over and over and over for 2 months, can she?? If you try to convince her / argu

glad you're feeling a bit better. Lemon water helps the liver deal with toxins and can help relieve the detox process.: a lemon chopped in big chunks, including the skin and seeds - all of it, put into 2 cups of unchlorinated water and refrigerated overnight (or for at least 2 hours).

I get sick of chewing salads and find a smoothie a good way to eat a lot of greens. However, I believe a salad is better because I understand that vegetables and fruit is bad food combing.

I've had this craving for onions the last 3 days, which is really wierd for me as I usually opt to not have onion on a salad. I've had an onion a day the last 3 days! Well, I discover that onion is a source of iron and that iron is the no. 1 rubbish remover from our bodies! I believe that i am plagued by excema because by body cannot rid itself of the 'rubbish' so it's coming out the skin. I st

oh dear, you need to eat. I really feel for you as I have excema and am desperately trying to cure myself. Trying to cure my whole body as toxins come out through the skin. Can you find a good naturopath? Sometone who will try and cure your whole body? Replenish gut flora, strengthen your immunity etc. I think you need to focus on curing your whole body (not killing it by starving) and eventual

I am not eating meat now, only because of health reasons. With modern farming techniques and environmental pollution etc, I don't think eating meat is healthy. I also believe firmly that humans eat too much meat. I will have a little biodynamic chicken occasionally when my excema is cured, but until then I'm steering clear of meat. I do have biodynamic yoghurt though which I believe is benefici

I just made my first raw soup: 2 cucumbers, 1 cup soaked cashews, 1 clove garlic, 1 cup of water in the blender and some chives chopped on top. It's quite nice! I'm suprised how much I like it! Very easy to do and I'm looking for alternatives to chewing and chewing big salads. I'm hoping to get some success with soups using a wider variety of vegetables, especially different colours which I belie

lol, i ate a whole pinapple last night and i know what you mean! . I enjoyed it though, just made my tongue feel funny for a while afterward. I just got a craving. Along with raw onion - go figure. So my mouth felt a bit funny after having those (not together, a few hours apart)

Just increase raw slowly and you may find that it's not so bad after all and want more and more.

finding a balance (still looking), especially in regards to money and organics and fancy recipes. How pedantic do you become? Does a teaspoon of soy sauce really matter of you don't have any namo shoyu? What does really matter anyway?! Am I taking this whole thing too far? Coming home when I first went raw, tired, what to make my husband, raw, that he would like? Lack of cooking repotoitre. I ha

Can dreams be a way of detoxing? Let me explain if I can ... When I was younger I had an experience which I would describe as 'grief'. At around that time I began drinking 12 litres a day including up to 4L of juice and the rest water. I have done that ever since, drinking that much every 24 hours. (no juice since raw, just water and I'm down to 8L a day now) Now I am trying to cure my body o

i don't know, to be honest. I think, like others have said, i'd focus on my family and on eternity, not on my food. Which I try to do now anyway.

I cart tank water from my mum's and when i need to wash I use that. However, I try and buy organic so only need to wash dirt of lettuce etc. I think my naturopath recommends diluted Dr Bronner's Sal Suds, i can't find it in my notes, but i think that's what it was.
