(sorry... this part of my above post didn't make it, and i can't figure out how to edit the dang thing...) under the "metabolic typing" and "eat right for your blood type" systems, i am also categorized as a high protein/"meat eater" type. i am doing very well on a raw diet -- lots of energy, weight loss, positive frame of mind -- but i am not 80-10-10. maybe you

I've got the Benriner Cook Help Spiral Slicer, and it is GREAT! Comes with 3 different (easily switched out) blades for angel hair, medium size, linguini style, and wide thin egg noodle style spirals. It does zucchini, cucumbers, and harder root veggies like carrots, daikon, sweet potatoes, and jicama.

i second coco's suggestion... you gotta sleep whenever the baby sleeps! if you do your housework when the baby sleeps, what are you gonna do when the baby is awake all night (as babies sometimes are) i also found that having my baby sleep in bed with me allowed me to get so much more sleep than i would've otherwise, and my friend who co-slept and nursed her first two and now has a third baby o

everyone is different, but the fact that it is so DIFFICULT to QUIT was the major flag to me that this is not so good for me. i mean, if i had to give up avocados, it would really suck, but i wouldn't be FREAKING OUT inside everytime i smelled one, or saw someone eating guacamole. i was either trying to quit or binging on coffee for years. when i was drinking it, i was rationalizing it ("

I know when you come off the Master Cleanse (which has a salt water flush component, just like shatkama) you're supposed to do one day of orange juice only, then the next day do raw green salads (veggies only, lemon juice, no salt) and then a mild veggie soup in the evening (cooked). But after 11 days I did the OJ one day, the raw green salads the next day, and then started incorporating other ra

Check out www.rawtism.com and also blog.rawkinrawtism.com A woman named Sunshine has (i think) several kids with autism and they have made BIG IMPROVEMENTS since going raw.

i just got a spiral slicer, so i would have to say: zucchini noodles tossed with lots of basil, garlic, diced tomatoes, and a sprinkle of pine nuts. yummmmm. also, jicama and red peppers with mint and lemon juice.

are you supressing your symptoms when you develop a cold, or are you letting it run its course? i've found getting out of your bodies way while you are sick will allow it to work best/fastest to return you to balance and health. are you allowing yourself to rest until its over, or are you trying to "push through it"? grapes and orange juice, lots of water, lots of rest, and finding ways

congratulations, momma! in terms of exercising, you can keep doing anything you were doing before you got pregnant because your body is already used to doing those things. i maintained a pretty strenuous ashtanga yoga practice (with a few posture modifications after my belly got huge) until 2 weeks before giving birth, and i think it really helped me enjoy a healthy pregnancy. i might forgo th

I'm getting in late on this one, but here's my 2 cents... how would you react to this report of your blood cholesterol levels if you didn't have any fear? you might be just interested (but not concerned), you might think "geez, i wonder what my cholesterol was before raw foods! good thing i started treating myself better. i wonder what my test will reveal in 6 months?", you might

i plucked a (few and far between, thank you) gray hair out of my head yesterday, and what do you know but it had a 1/2" dark brown root!!! i pasted that thing into my journal as proof of raw power! just wanted to share.

right, i don't know what it is about swimming that makes me so HUNGRY afterwards, its so different from any other sort of physical activity. is it because the osmotic balance of your skin cells (largest organ of the body) is all tweaked out and demanding re-regulation?? not sure... i always eat bananas (lots), and drink lemons squeezed into water... maybe for the electrolytes?

i had an amazing birth experience using hypnobirthing (http://www.hypnobirthing.com/), essentially DEEP relaxation that allows you to get out of your body's way and let it do its natural, birthing thing. i did not experience pain during the birth of my daughter, merely rolling waves of intensity. it was awesome!

I decided to do the master cleanse for 7 days in july of 2007 The reason I did this was because over the year prior, even though my diet had improved somewhat from the year before and I was exercising more, I was actually gaining weight, plus I was often constipated, and started having acid reflux. This from what I thought was a pretty healthy vegetarian diet (ha!). I thought it might have someth
