I'm going through it, and if I take evening primrose oil, black cohosh, gingko, ginsing and a progesterone cream (not chemical) I sail through my cycle. If I don't, woe to those around me because I'm such a raving bitch I can't even stand myself!

Wow River Willow! I love your enthusiasm! I was wondering: How quickly did you make the change to raw? What kind of diet did you have before you went raw (were you veg, vegan, junk food meat eating junkies)? Because that may have an effect on how hard your family detoxes -- how much garbage you have in your bodies to begin with. I agree with Radomeag that Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine is a grea

I eat 'em after 2 days. I whip them into hummus -- yum! I took some to a party a few weeks ago and the cooked people gobbled it up!

I've only lived in Massachusetts two winters. The first winter saw only three major snowfalls, but it was chilly all winter (well below freezing every night). This past winter had its first snowfall in mid November, and snow covered the ground (a foot plus) until the beginning of April. So usually, yes, from what the natives say.

I sprout the seeds but not to eat; I love the trees. My parents sprouted them when I was growing up in California and got trees big enough to produce a few fruits. My partner and I are pushing the limits of what we can grow here in Massachusetts, and we have a few little trees in our living room. (Incidentally, we harvested greens inside in Jan. and outside in cold frames in Feb. We have our 1/4

I'm not phantom, but sprouted hummus is one of my favorite foods, so I'll jump in here and tell you what I put in mine: I grind 1/4 cup of sesame seeds, then process it with a cup of chickpea sprouts, 1T olive oil, 1-2T lemon juice, 1-2 cloves of garlic, salt and pepper to taste, 1t. cumin and if I'm feeling spicy, I'll add some cayenne and a little dried pepper blend that my honey grew, dried, g

Little kids love to grow things and from my 27 years of experience of mothering, they love to eat what they grow. My three year old only eats lettuce that is picked out of the living room (it really is a "living" room), and she too loves the sprouts right out of the jar they sprout in.

I have gotten UTI's on a regular basis and for a while would succumb to the antibiotics / candida meds cycle, but lately haven't had much trouble because I would do a cranberry flush, and that would take care of the UTI. Then, a couple of weeks ago I got another one and the flush didn't work. The infection spread to my kidney (not fun!), and I had to take a strong antibiotic. I thought, oh great,

I also got pregnant with two of my kids eating a high raw diet (80%, back in the 80's). Congrats!!!

Oh, yeah, to get back on the subject of prices of food, the farmers market in Chico has reasonably priced food, but beyond that, we GREW food there year round!!! Food is increasingly expensive to buy and probably will continue to be so, but remember, in the USA we're so used to paying artificially deflated prices of food due to subsidies skewing the market, so that's what we expect. And remember,

Sebastopol!!! I was born and raised there!!! I always felt like I would wind up there again someday and hope it eventually happens. It's a very ecologically aware place, almost like a mecca of schools and businesses, but expensive to live. I'd live in a chicken coop (not to be confused with co-op) there any day! That whole area (Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino & Humboldt Counties) is awesome! Another

I have a lot of snacky cooked foods that my hubby and daughter eat, but I'm grossed out by that cupboard and afraid of what I'll find in it. The only food I have in it is raw nori. I keep my nuts and seeds in the fridge and fruit is everywhere. Sundancer

I don't think about it, but if I did I would think too much! My awesome partner grows as much food as our yard will hold (right now we have lettuce, kale, arugula, cilantro and broccoli greens that we are harvesting out of our living room in Mass.),and he works in the produce department of our local co-op (100% organic produce!), so I feel pretty lucky. Still, food is the one thing we do not skim

1007. Support!
Hey all! I am new to posting on this site, though I have been trying to eat as much raw food as possible all year (100% today, 70% this week, up & down this year) with the goal of being 100% by summer. I have read many discussion boards and have joined a few, but I must commend everyone here because this one has so much participation, positivity and good information! I live in Mass. and have
