That's a difficult decision, perhaps there's no black and white 'right' answer, but an answer tailored to each situation and each individual. For me, my family know I am big on being told the truth, I see this as a form of compassion and respect to me. I would want to know before. There's also the issue of whether she will be missing her husband's funeral, I hope that would not be the case

Madinah, while I am a fan of fasting, I'm not a personal fan of a long term liquid diet. Yes our digestive system needs a rest, but there are other complications and biofeedback mechanism at play when digestion of fibrous food is carried out. the biggest being the feedback loop between chewing and the health of the teeth. Like bones (which are closely related) teeth need weight bearing exer

Thanks Eddie, it often amazes me that people think it's simply the health aspect of organic that is the only reason to eat it! I don't eat 100% organic, my percentage goes up and down the closer or further away I am to a paycheck, lol. Plus there are some things I just can't get organic here, coconuts (young and mature) being the major one. But when I am in a better financial position, I'l

Madinah, I still don't think the organic argument is overrated, just that the concerns about eating lots of conventional fruits and veg are perhaps over exaggerated when it comes to the levels of pesticides as compared to your average SAD eater, especially one who consumes lots of animal products. Eating organic has many benefits that extend far further than just the health perspective. Organ

The consumption of no animal fats would be the biggest plus. Even organic animal fats have residual pesticides and environmental pollutants in them. Which country you come from makes a difference as to the levels of pollutants in organic animal products due to the levels of environmental pollutants and the pollution regulations. Unfortunately America has some of the highest rates of food poll

It's an interesting question Johnathan, and one I'd like to try and answer from a biological perspective. Even the copious quantities of fruits and greens eaten by 811ers/LFRVers pales in comparison with the amount of grass/grain a cow must consume to produce a kilogram of meat. There is a phenomena called 'biomagnification', where pollutants and pesticides, especially fat soluble ones, are

Well done, glad it makes you feel good! Yes, being positive is so much more of a sustainable and healthy way of being rather than being negative. It's far better for enjoyment of life as well. Keep up the happiness frame of mind!

Oh, Madinah, the current theory on B12 production in the human digestive system is that the bacteria that produce the B12 are too low in the digestive system for effective absorption to occur.

When I have the time I'll be getting this actually tested out by sending fermented product samples to a laboratory. It also may differ from fermentation process to fermentation process as different bacteria are involved. I'll be researching more into B12 (bioavailable) producing bacteria in the coming months. I'm quite surprised no one has thought to produce an actual food directly from the ba

I sprayed the bag with citrus essential oil before putting it in the wash and it seems to have done the trick. Though I imagine I can still smell it a little, but it'll get a second wash when I get home. The worst thing is that I had to use it today (it's morning here) as at the end of work today I'm off to Wwwoof on a veganic farm in the country, really bad timing for my cat to decide my bag

Ohh yes, and there could be a lot of dissolved oxygen in there too! Certainly no dioxins or pcbs pretty sure they don't occur naturally! When you next swing by, can you pick up a few glass bottles full for me?

Here's what I posted on Facebook not long ago.... I have had an awful day today. Internet fix-it man gets here the first time at 7.30am! An hour before the EARLIEST they said they'd be here, woke me up. Then I realised riding halfway to Fitzroy that my cat had pissed on my backpack, cue me smelling like cat piss all day. Then to top it off, I'd been clumping around all day feeling like one

It's a factor of our modern lifestyle and hygenic practices. I have a theory, and I'll be testing it sometime this year, that we don't actually need supplementation if we eat fermented foods. I haven;t said this to anyone else or mentioned it on any other boards as yet as I have to do some research. But I know of at least one long term raw vegan who over the course of 6 months got his B12 l

Not allowed to take the woman's name???? GAHHHHH!!!!! How does that stop him from changing his name randomly, and it just happneing to coincide with her name? Stupid outdated laws, really really dumb!!! I'd be fighting that one right up to the federal courts!

My friend kept her pet budgie in the freezer for three years after he died, and I thought she was weird! But seriously, the fact that you thought highly of your goldfish only says good things about you. Give you goldfish back to the earth as others have said. <3

Ok, this 'white light' stuff must be the shiz, cos I've taken a whole bottle of garden variety ormus (orme ) and not felt a thing! And this was supposed to be very high quality stuff said by those in the know! My friend (an engineer and supposedly knowledgeable in all things like this, according to quite a number of people other than himself, lol) makes it, and it literally is a distillati

Oh my god, I just read my other post and I've said ormus stands for orbitally rearranged MOMO molecular elements. It's MONO, just in case anyone thinks I'm a chemistry retard.

Sorry guys, I just have to weigh in here as politely as possible. What do you want Ferb to say? 'Oh yes, Kevin Gianni has now started eating animal products, I will have to do the same. Silly me, thinking I could get everything from a raw vegan diet!' What do you want us to say? Us 100% raw vegans (and before that, long term cooked vegans) that are happy, healthy, have no deficiencies? Ye

Yeah coco, I discussed my son's name with him saying if he wanted to change it that'd be alright by me. He thought for a while and said, I think I want to be called Zac, but it only lasted a few days, lol. He may change his name when he gets older, no big deal, he'll still be my boy! I totally understand if you don't connect with your own name given to you at birth. I used to hate my name when

Loooovvveee!! I usually try and cure my own but don't often get time so I do buy the raw jarred ones sometimes. I'm lucky in my area, we have a lot of greek and italian families, so olives picked fresh off the tree are easy to get in season as lots of people bottle them at home here.

One of my friends makes loads of this stuff with his setup (well, he makes the average garden variety ormus, not sure what this white light one is all about, lol). Ormus roughly stands for orbitally rearranged momo molecular elements (Orme). Tastes like liquid chalk to me.
