Dave what you wrote sounds like me. It's really hard to get past my current stressors and meditate. I need to get back in touch w/ me. I think that would help a lot. davidzanemason Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > -This is the hard part: learning to accept and act > on the TRUE level of motivation that you feel and > take responsibility

Thanks Choco! The lady is Chef Mandy of chefmandy.com. She charges $5 to come to the potluck, so I imagine it's a structured thing for her business. It's the only raw thing I've found in this area though, so I thought I might try it. Maybe I'll meet some people.

I've been having a hard time too. My budget is $300 a month for food & toiletries for three people. I just found a local grocery store (not a chain) that had oranges, apples, & pears for 30 cents a pound. Veggies were cheap too. I got 12 bags of groceries for $50 today. I'm really excited! Now off to the juicer!

People comment on my food, but I don't care. They nevere commented when I weight 250 lbs and ate total crap. I'm older and just don't take guff from people like I would have when I was younger. I used to feel the need to explain myself. I wouldn't respond to somebody that made a rude comment. I talk to people that are deserving of my energy. That being said, I have been there with weight loss

I couldn't go because only organic food was allowed. I wanted to make a fruit & nut pie, but couldn't find the ingredients in organic form, just nuts & berries. No pineapple or kiwi. I think the pie would have cost $20-$25 if I could have found organic. More $ than I could spend. Even if I just brought fruit for 8 people it would have cost me about $20 for 3 pounds (tax included).

I want to drink smoothies for lunch and they don't hold up from morning until noon. I want to bring a blender to work, but they are SO noisy.... I feel better if I drink my fruit instead of eating it.

Do you thin not eating 100% raw keeps you in perpetual detox? I know everyone says to transition over months or years, but I was kinda thinking that when I tried to quit smoking,if I added some cigarettes in every few days, or 1 a day, it took me 2 years to quit. Only once I went cold turkey could I kick it. Same thing with hard drugs or alcohol.... cold turkey is best. Why should food be diff

I don't want to rush him. But we have 3 months before another blood check to avoid more medication. I'll offer up the food and he'll eat. I offered up the suggestion of just eating more fruit when he's hungry and he said it won;t be long before he's bored w. that. I just simplified my eating so I guess that's good, because now I think I have to do vegan recipes to keep him interested. I gue

He is total omni and is just today trying to deal with eating a whole new way that is not of his choosing. He has to start with cutting back on meat first and adding fresh veggies and fruit. What is alkalizing? The context of this has to be simple for him or he will not make it. I don't want to overwhelm him. I am having him eat fruit. Eat veggies raw & cooked. Drastically reduce animal pr

Hello. Just got lab work back on hubby and he has high uric acid (gout=metabolic arthritis). He has to go from a typical SAD diet to low protien (15% max). They want to put him on preventative meds, and he already takes chemo meds for psoriatic arthritis and we'd rather see if we can improve the blood work over the next 3 months with diet alone. SO....he'll be getting plenty of raw fruits

Well I'm walking it, but it's my first event ever. It's for breast cancer. I'm up to 12 miles a week w/ my walking now. I'll get into running someday I hope! I'm excited! Sorry I know this isn't food related. I didn't know where to post about exercise.

You all are so nice. I feel like such a whiny baby. I spent 5 years sick and vomiting and terrified of eating for the pain. I'm happy and want raw and feel great. At the same time I think part of my psyche still feels sorry for myself because of what I can't have (even if I no longer want it); because I mourned being forced to give up foods I loved. Having forced anorexia and malnutrition bec

I understand this, however I get physically sick if I eat crap like sugar (candy today) or most cooked food. The only thing that has freed me from my gut motility illness is raw fruit. I'm not doing it because I think I "have to", but because the only time I'm not ill is when I eat raw fruit. Before I found this, the only way I felt good was not to eat at all. I try to be gentle with

I did SO well the first 2 weeks. This last week I got stress and chose to eat some sugar and I totally spiralled out of control. I know it's all a process, But I really don't want this to happen again. I'm tired of the bingeing that I did for so many years. I really just can't take it emotionally anymore. sigh.

I wonder what qualifies as low protien? You'd think every frutarian would be bald. I already lost a third of my hair from an overdose of testosterone after my hysterectomy 7 years ago. It never gerw back and I can't afford to lose anymore. I also can't afford to stop my raw journey. Guess I'll just eat and pray. I have no idea how many calories I'm consuming. I eat when I'm hungry. After ha

Yep I have to agree with Brian. bveggie maybe because your former lifestyle revolved around money, you attracted those kind of women, but there's a ton of us out here that are genuine and we're just looking for love, peace and simplicity. You'll find what you are looking for. Open your heart and try not to let past experiences cloud you. Blessings,

Has anyone had experience with diabetes and high fruit? I'm diabetic and was diet controlled normal blood A1C for 5 years. It's raised some with the addition of cortisone added daily for the last 3 years (ugh). Anyway....I'm a raw newbie. I am drawn to mainly fruit. It's just what I want. David you said you don't reccommend it for newbies, but I feel it's what my body wants. What I cannot f

There are raw restaurants out there in certain places, not to mention salads. Some people like to eat out. If there was a raw cafe here I would definately try it on occassion. :-) Learning to "cook" means learning to prepare (that's how I took it).

This is day 7 of raw for me. I'm naurally drawn to fruit. It's easy, yummy and doesn't need anything to compliment it. I'm kinda scared of being a frutarian. I read bad things about it, and that diabetics should not do it. My diabetes has been in the normal range by diet for the last 5 years until they put me on cortisone which raises the blood sugar. It's still gotta be better to eat fruit than

WOW!!! As someone 7 days into my raw journey this was just amazing to read and I LOVED the pics! I'm speechless. How long did take you to get rid of your migraines? I have them often and they have been known to last up to 45 days. I'm just curious of your personal experience with this. Thanks!!

I went though this. The jealous people say mean things. The nice people say nice things. Just keep focused on what you want to do and where you want to go. People can be such jerks, especially women (IMO). I never had a man say a mean thing when I was losing weight. Bottom line, is may hurt, but you can only control yourself. Keep up the great work!! :-) phylisrn Wrote: ----------------
