Welcome to the raw world. I don't have experience with the Sampson, and I don't use wheatgrass, so I can't answer those questions. As for flax seed, some people ground them in a grinder and put sprinkle them on salads, or soak the seeds to make a gelatinous substance that is used as a binder in dehydrated foods like crackers or burgers. In addition to looking at the Matt Monarch & Angela

This low energy may be your body doing its detoxification process. For myself, I had to take 4 months off from work when my healing crisis came, and during that time I would sleep 16 to 18 hours a day. But afterward I felt great. I have always eaten a lot of fruit with my raw diet. I mostly eat fruit right now. It may be that nothing in your diet is causing your low energy. As you said, yo

Of the "milks" you listed, hemp milk is going to be the healthiest, but thats if you prepare it yourself. The store bought stuff is probably pasteurized. But hemp milk is easy to make. Just hemp seeds and water, and maybe a little date to take the edge off the hemp seed taste. The hulled hemp seeds are going to be fine. They haven't been cooked, but just had the hulls removed.

mtrddog, Just eat the fresh ripe raw fruits and vegetables that you like. The main cause of kidney stones is too much protein, which is not a problem on a raw diet high in fruits and salads.

Extreme fatigue is part of the healing process. For me, at one point I needed to take 4 months leave from work so that my body could get over its acute fatigue that arose out of my improvements in my diet and lifestyle. But after that 4 months of not working and sleeping as much as 16 - 18 hours a day, I felt great.

The body is super efficient at removing potassium as it expects to find a lot of it in our diet. The body is very miserly at removing sodium because it expects to find very little of it in our diet. However, the modern diet is super high in sodium and low in potassium. This is why salt is causing such havoc on people's bodies (high blood pressure, hypertension, strokes, cancer).

During the winter bananas become one of my main source of energy, the other being citrus. But during the summer and fall months, my consumption of bananas falls of. Though yesterday I ate about 12 of them, and yesterday was the first day of summer.

Hellokitty, One of the secrets of succeeding on the raw diet is being able to heal the wisdom of the body, that is, to ignore what the experts and professionals are saying about healing and to go inside and find out the truth for yourself. I wrote a post a while back talking about this called Raw authority.

I like to see how my body feels to determine how much to eat. When my body says "I'm full", then I quit eating. Until then, assuming it is feeling good to continue to eat, I eat.

"The 80/10/10 Diet" by Douglas Graham describes a version of the raw diet that doesn't require fancy equipment like dehydrators or Vita-mixes. The basic idea is to eat lots of fruits and salads while cutting down the fats.

The most super foods (in terms of having a high supply of the nutrients our bodies need) are fruits and salads. The fruits are high in vitamins and phyto nutrients (e.g. anti-oxidants), and greens are high in minerals and phyto nutrients. Both these foods are high in water and fiber.

I took some dried powders at the beginning of my raw process 8 years ago, but after a few weeks I quit. I haven't supplemented since that time. I feel great and healthy on my diet of raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

You could if you juiced them. But who knows, perhaps it is possible by eating them. There is enough proteins in fruits and vegetables to build muscles without eating more food than you need to meet your energy requirements.

David has great advice. Without eating sweet fruit though, an all raw diet would depend on fat for calories, and this will not be healthful. A transitional diet might be a low fat whole food cooked vegan diet with lots of salads, until your body can heal its adverse reactions to sugar. After your body has healed (and it will) you ought to be able to eat sweet fruit.

I drank alcohol during my transition. I enjoyed a red glass of wine now and then. But at some point, I enjoyed wine less and less it it just fell away. If you are enjoying alcohol, then enjoy it now. My guess is your desire for it will fall away naturally.

I tried superfoods when I first went raw. I bought some powered green stuff and it tasted horrible. After that, there was no supplementation/superfoods for me. I've been supplementation free for 7.5 years now.

My niece's son had projectile vomiting after breast feeding. Going to a low fat vegan diet for my niece made that problem go away within a week.

Are you sure your bananas are ripe? In this picture: Banana #7 is the only ripe one, the rest are unripe and will be a challenge to digest. As for your eating schedule, try eating the avocado as the last thing you eat. With an avocado in your stomach, this may hinder your body's ability to digest sweet fruit well. I eat banana-strawberry smoothies that digest well. I just use 1 straw

You don't need to have enemas or cleanses. If you eat a healthy diet, your body will heal itself. Some many people, detoxification is very gentle. For others, who had more abuse, it was challenging. Here's a good article about detoxification by David Klein: ---------------------------------------------------------- Detoxification BY DAVID KLEIN - <DAVE@LIVINGNUTRITION.COM> Ma

brooke_j Complex carbohydrates or starch is totally unnecessary on the raw diet. The simple carbohydrates in fruit gives cleaner and easier to obtain energy than that which comes from starch. Just make sure you eat enough fruit to satisfy your energy needs, and you'll be fine. But eat your veggies too. Tender leafy greens that is. The starchy vegetables are totally optional and unnecessary

crowdreamer, Odds are you are not eating enough fruit. Yesterday, this is what I ate: 2pm: 9 mangos 7pm: 2 galia melons, 2 pounds of red flame grapes, 1 romaine heart. What also helps with digestion is to keep your meals as simple as possible. For example, my first meal was 9 mangos. I could get the same number of calories by eating 2 mango, 3 apples, 2 bananas, 2 oranges, 2 peaches, 2

Try using some romaine lettuce. When I played with green smoothies years ago, this is what I liked: 6 bananas 1/2 to 1 romaine heart blueberries to taste Also I liked using strawberries. But after some time, I quit putting in the lettuce. My smoothies nowadays are just bananas & strawberries.

Yes, its the body that reacts with cancer symptoms to toxins. If you put those same carcinogens in a dead person's body, there would be no cancer symptoms.

Its hard to beat bananas. If you don't mind the volume, watermelon is great. Dates also work. I like the drier Deglet Noors.

I would recommend getting more rest and sleep to refresh yourself rather than taking an energy drink. Also take a look at foods that may be draining your energy: cooked foods, fats, poor food combinations. To have the most energy available for your life, its helps to reduce the energy you use to digest. This means eat the simplest meals possible, say like mono-meals. Also, experiencing pain

suncloud, First of all, if it doesn't feel good to eat greens, then don't eat them until it does feel good. What greens are you eating and how do you prepare them? What dressings if any are you using?
