The constitution which will not permit one to be healthy on an all raw diet has to with the constitution of the mind/emotions/spirit. If one views themselves as a victim in life, then it is very likely that on the raw diet, they will be a victim of the raw diet. If one's outlook is such that things tend to work for them, that they tend to do well with everything they try, then on the raw diet, th

I probably eat more fruit than most people on this forum, and I am nowhere near overweight. So I don't think fruit is a cause. However, if someone is overeating, even fruit, they will gain weight (or get sick).

The reason that regular medical websites don't hold out much hope for people with PKD is so few of them are willing to make the lifestyle changes necessary to heal the diseased kidneys. It is a combination of unhealthful lifestyle and diet that causes this disease, and by eating a healthy raw diet and making the lifestyle changes that are necessary for excellent health, one can regain their healt

SuperInfinity, The reason I deleted this thread the first time is because this is an offensive post. If you decide you need to continue posting stuff like this, I will see it as a sign that you don't need to be here. How is this supporting to people who want to eat raw foods?

I get this sensation from unripe figs. But last week I bought 5 pounds of adriatics, and I ate 2 pounds at one sitting of super ripe figs, the insides all red and jelly like and sweet, and I had zero fig burn. Yum!

If you are not getting your calories from fresh fruits, then on raw foods your majority of calories are coming from fat. So rather than get all your calories from fat, you might be better off eating some cooked foods, say steamed vegetables and steamed starches, like sweet potatoes or yams or winter squash. This way you can keep your diet low fat. To have a healthy cooked diet, just keep the

Fruit will dry naturally on a tree. I've eaten dehydrated figs directly off a tree before, and it was quite delicious. For store bought ones, look for dried fruit that isn't sulfured, and is either sun-dried or dried at low temperatures. The thing about dried fruit is that is will dry you out, because is has less water density than your body, and the fruit will stick to your teeth, causing den

simplefoodlover, A big problem with the raw diet is it is very easy to overdo the fat. When I first measured my fat intake, I was eating in excess of 60% fat, and some of my meals at the time were 90% fat. A salad with a whole head of romaine lettuce and 1 tablespoon of olive oil is 60% fat. What I found is with very little discomfort or restraint it was easy to get to my fat intake to 20%

For that part of you that is asking these troubling question, ask it where nutrients come from on the SAD diet? With SAD, one takes fresh raw whole produce, and cooks and processes it to death, effectively rendering useless vitamins, minerals, fiber, water, and phytonutrients. What is left are empty calories.

rcullen, Welcome to the raw food world and welcome to our raw food support forum. It can be overwhelming with all the information out there about raw foods. But an easy place to start is to eat foods that most cooked food eaters already eat raw: fresh fruits and salads vegetables. To eat these, there is not much new you have to learn, except perhaps learning about food combining and learning h

Mry_PL, The easiest raw foods to eat are fruits and salad vegetables. So this is a starting place. Bok choy is hard to eat raw, but baby bok choy is quite enjoyable. When I eat broccoli, I only eat the florets and I cut them very small and put them into a salad. You can use a shredder with beets, or a spiralizer if you have one. But for the most part, the raw vegetables that are going to

Veganreikiangel asked me to close this thread, as this discussion about "real" fasting was not feeling supportive to him in his attempt to get back to a raw diet again. He will be starting a new thread, looking for support only rather than what he felt was conflict and criticism toward him.

I've eaten dishes made of sprouted grains and beans over the years, but they have not really appealed to me like fresh fruit do. I mostly played with sprouting during my transitional period. After my transition, I was eating mostly fresh fruits and vegetables, but I will buy clover and alfalfa or mung bean sprouts at the store.

For myself, I've noticed that since I've been raw, my wound heal much faster than before when I was eating SAD. It used to take me hours to heal a small cut sometimes, but nowadays a wound will clot and stop bleeding in a minute or so.

Do you think having a mouser would be a humane form of rodent control? I've seen cats playing with their food before, and this must not feel that great for the mouse.

Well Buddha, welcome to our raw vegan forum. And because this is a raw vegan forum, we've all agreed to keep the discussion concerning raw vegan foods. There are plenty of places on the internet to get information about organic yogurt. But this isn't one of them. We would be happy to support you with any problems or issues you might be having on the raw diet. We recently had an inciden

Well folk, liddld23 has been banned. liddld23 wasn't interested in getting support in their raw diet, but was looking to have some fun debating the pros and cons of cooking. Like I said, this is not the place for those kinds of debates. I will actively remove users who insist on debating an anti-raw food outlook.

By the way folk, this is not a debate forum. liddld23, if you want support in eating a raw vegan diet, this is the right forum for that. If you want to debate the merits of raw versus other diets, this is not the place. For everyone else, please keep in mind the purpose of this forum is to support people who already know they want to eat a raw diet. This is not the place to convince somebody

I agree about excluding salt from the diet. As stated above, tomatoes help. Also celery. If a food makes you thirsty, how can that be healthful for your body?

Start by increasing the amounts of fresh fruits and salads you eat. Also, look at reducing the animal products in your cooked diet, as well as processed foods. Reducing or eliminating meat and dairy is a great place to start.

Its sound like you ate very lightly on your vacation, and perhaps you started to feel some emotions that were pent up on the inside. What works for me is to fully feel my emotions without judgment. After I feel them, they are released out of my body. Experiencing undesirable emotions can lead to eating foods that will quell those emotions. Cooked hummus, beans, tofu, and peanut butter will all

If I ate as little as you ate I would be hungry too. Here's what I ate yesterday: 2pm: 9 mangos 7pm: 10 pounds of watermelon. A salad of 1 head of romaine lettuce, a large cucumber, 1/2 pint of cherry tomatoes, a pint of clover sprouts, a dressing of orange juice, sundried tomatoes, cilantro, celery, and 1/4 cup hempseeds all blended.
