HI Prism - do you have weak fingernails, cuz it's supposed to be a sign of hydrochloric acid deficiency.(which acv would 'replace'). I used to use a couple of h.a. replacements (acv was one) but they didn't always work so I gave them up. I'm just curious about this cuz my fingernails are STILL weak and react very strangely to certain foods now, which I think has to do with eating acid foods. I'm

Try Storm and Jinjee's site: she said she lost 30 or 40 lbs and healed her acne. (I think that's right) She's been raw for 15 years and looks truly awesome.

Thanks Prism, I've only been searching on CL, but lots of listings there are also from agencies. I was hoping to find a trace-free site, but maybe there isn't one...... cheers, aqua

I've been trying to do real estate searches in the US and am having a problem finding sites that don't require me to register my email, etc. In Canada, there's the www.mls.ca, which any net surfer can use to see all the properties available for sale (except the ones listed exclusively with one agency). The mls in the US seems to refer me to individual agents' sites, where I'm required to regist

They only sting when they're mature, or something - I should have looked it up before answering. I know that as a child I was stung several times on Vedder Mtn. We used to ride horses through the trails there, for hours on end, and whenever we stopped to answer the call of nature or to drink from a stream, I inevitably brushed against stinging nettle! I don't know why I didn't learn to look fo

Maybe the experiments regarding cooked over raw were done on SAD eaters and maybe THEY can't digest raw tomatoes. You know where I'm going with this so I won't continue. Just saying that the

So Dave, I guess you don't feel the need to eat chlorophyll-rich foods. Once a body (and mind) has rebalanced, maybe the 'return to the garden of Eden' is a sweet fruit diet. It's so helpful to know about the longtimers' diets and what they went through to get there. (only if they have excellent health on it, though). I feel the need to eat lots of chlorophyll as I'm probably using it to rebuild

Good idea, Jgunn, but we won't be going there for a few months. and there would be too many of us for one bedroom! We'd need a two bedroom to ourselves. There are some really cute, craftsman cottages for rent in SD!!!! Would love one of those for a few months!

Rawnoggin, once you start absorbing more nutrition and eliminating toxins, your cravings will abate. I'm just noticing that for me, after a few months mostly raw. Just don't get too attached to the rda or you might wind up overeating foods you don't need and wondering why you don't feel better. Read what the long-time successful rawfoodists say about what works for them and use it as a guide, t

The ones I buy are so tasteless - most fruit is ...... I guess it's picked long before it's ripe. If you live in a fig-growing region, you'd be able to get tree-ripened figs ....... (sigh)

Thanks, that sounds great. Actually I've been searching the internet about SD - seems like a great place to be raw. I'm wondering about neighbourhoods to live in - whether some are more convenient and relaxed for cycling and walking and running, cleaner air, less density, etc. If you have any comments, please voice them to me, ....... thanks!

It's probably about numerology or Kabalarian Philosophy. Kabalarians are counselled to choose names that are more dynamic, or softer, etc, depending on their birthdate numbers, etc. (I went to school with a Kabalarian and he liked to teach others about KP.)

The RDA guidelines were designed for SAD eaters, not for raw foodists. Probably no one knows for certain what a raw foodist needs nutritionally, since there is no financial payoff for anyone who could or would do such a long term study. Lots of ppl have experimented on themselves with optimum diet over years or decades, and some ppl make educated guesses based on similarities between humans

We put all kinds of toxins in our bodies for years and then it gets a chance to come out ........... it's not pretty when it does ......... it gives you lots of time to think about what you did before ..... and can be so unpleasant that I've scurried back to cooked or junk just to 'comfort' myself after having the unpleasant symptoms - but that doesn't work. Don't worry, you sound normal and d

I'm thinking about going south for a few months this fall, to do some fasting, juice cleansing and resting. I'd like to drive with my daughter and dog to either SCal or Arizona, most likely. I'd want to rent a calm, quiet, unpolluted place for 3-6 months, where we could just BE, sleep and fast when we wanted to. We don't want to stay at an established retreat (too pricey and regimented), just wan

I'm thinking of staying in SD for a few months this fall and winter. I was looking on craigslist for places to rent, but am wondering if anyone knows other sources of available rentals. Also wondering if you have any tips for me, things to avoid, etc, when looking for a place. I would be bringing my daughter and dog, and need a place away from traffic, smokers, bbqs, laundry odors, etc,

And few things are more satisfying than loving and nurturing your kids........it fuels a kind of energy in the parent that I have never experienced elsewhere. Though it looks like it's a one-sided effort, like raw food, it's a reciprocal relationship.
