My opinion is that you should focus heavily on dark, especially, green vegies for the transition period. Eating sweets will probably make you feel you need meat to balance things out. Back off on all condiments, salt, onion, garlic, etc and only use them sparingly to stave off meat cravings. All the common nutrition rules are based on the perversity of cooking our food and don't apply to raw, w

Wow, you're the only person here who has the same shopping trail I do! I've never been to Whole Foods, so I can't comment - but if it's that cool, I better wear my polarized sunglasses. When I was writing my love-for-Capers rant, it was just my views as a shopper, cuz I have never worked for them and don't know anyone who has. Also, I didn't say, but was thinking, that there has to be some

"going to whole foods is basically a shopping "experience" and when you shop there you pay for the "experience". I am a huge fan of Capers, have been for years and hope they don't change. They're genuine. I can't think of a single criticism, and I'm a very critical consumer. They're not cheap, but they're competitive, very community-minded, respect their employees an

The food wouldn't be organic for long: in Canada a food can be labelled organic for the slightest nod to lower toxicity. Certified Organic is different - consumers have to know or understand about the certifying body. A product won't be better than its certifying body. I think most of themin BC are good. But any group of peers, or anyone I guess, could start up a certifying body and start approvi

Fuzzy - Maybe at work you could dine on the fresh pizza topping ingredients, like peppers and tomatoes........... No wonder your mom is depressed - bet she would feel better if she changed her diet, but it's hard to convince ppl of that. No kidding, I am in awe of your strength and superior attitude. I think of Goethe's words: "Then indecision brings its own del

I usually buy non-organic carrots, beets and celery to juice because I read years ago that the pesticides stay mostly in the fiber, which I strain out. Does anyone have info on that, cuz sometimes I wonder if I should splurge more often on organic!

Huge difference - so nice, cuz I've had nausea from eating since I was a teenager. On raw, only if I eat lots of fat or any fermented food. (Thanks Bryan and others for that important dietary tip!)

I think a Natural Hygienist would counsel her to fast for as long as needed to restore balance in her body. (A fast is water only, cuz to fast means to abstain from taking nutrients in the body.) Would be a longish ordeal for her but very rewarding.

Have you told him very simply that you need his help......if you have a trusting kind of relationship, you could just tell him what you need and that you appreciate him. If you don't have a trusting relationship - which is what I grew up with - no one ever seemed to accept anything another person felt or needed - then you might be limited to how you express yourself. Sounds like there might be a
