Hi Lauren, something about lights/ultra-lights always made my throat itch like crazy. Anyway, well done!! on cutting backing! The physically addiction of nicotine is only 3 days, you're almost at the three day mark! Keep yourself busy, productive and avoid booze (something about booze alway makes my want to smoke). Revel in the power of not smoking! Feel good for it! Peace, Ian.

I think if an omnivore group was included, humans would match them a lot closer than Herbivores.

Hi, I couldn't find the pre-packed fresh garbanzo beans I'd been buying earlier this year, but the store I'd buying them from got loose/bulk garbonzo beans in. But they wheren't as good, the shells where a paler green, some yellow, i think this because they are older, anyway, they tasted a little bitter and starchy (kind of like sprouted dried garbanzos, but not that bad) and I didn't like th

Hehe yeah, when I'm in LTRs I've got a preference for not using a condom (it's more fun, convenient). Fortunately I wasn't the one taking the birth control drugs, which are toxic and do take their toll on body after a while, breaks are needed. I always felt bad about that, but it was the girls choice, no pressure from me. So what brand of cigarettes do you smoke? Hopefully you're smoking add

Hi Lauren, I smoked cigs, drank *lots* of beer and scotch (it helps regulate my weight ;-) and ate raw food all at the same time. About a 1 month or 2 ago I had a tooth out and had to quit smoking for 3 weeks, I figured I'd just not start again afterwards, it was pretty easy. As for drinking, my body seems to have taken a dislike to it, it seemed that it was getting harder on my body the hea

Hi Oneris, could you point me to some references? I'd like to read more about that. For me, my 'body' is spot on 99.999% of the time. I notice that when i don't listen to it things go wrong, but if I listen to it then I'm always happy and healthy. Maybe it's varries from person to person and your body that is a bad indicator of what you need to eat. You also might have a sugar addiction

Yeah, it's just scare mungering BS. interesting to see the points that's purpose is to drive profits for the corrupt. Personally I don't take notice of anything with less than a 20% fatality rate. And even with something with a high fatality, well, I got say there are probably too many people anyway so it's not really a bad thing. But that's just me. Peace, Ian.

I play for Gairloch high school in the north of Scotland from '83 to '90. I was a hooker, but then i got big they made my a prop (both tight and loose end). I gotta say i enjoyed playing hooker a lot more than prop and I could get the ball 99% of the time. After the teacher strikes we were the only state school that had a rugby team, so we played only against private schools (who trained con

Ah cool. Which team(s)/year(s) did you play Rugby League for? I used to be a Rugby Union fan when I live in the UK, something about league never got me quite as excited (probably because I play rugby union for high school), but I still watched league games. Anyway, I really nice to hear of sports-pros who are raw/vegan/fruity/etc. What position did you play? I hope you didn't bite any ears

Try eating an orange, clementine or tangerine 20 to 30 minutes before each meal. I like clementines and tangerines because the are nice and small, easy to eat without filling you up or making a mess. I think the key is eating something high in vitamin-C a little before your meal, this allows your body to absorb a little vitamin-C and get mixed in with you're stomic juices ready to help with the

Hi Rawsome, for vegans to get iron requires more than just eating things with iron in them. Iron from plants is hard for the human body to absorb, but it can be made a lot easier with the help of Vitamin-C. Eat an oranage 30minutes before eating some high iron foods. Greens can provide a lot of iron, but you need the vitamin-C to help the absorbsion. Parsley is really good because it conta

Hi Oneris, Yes! Dehydrating has been my main way of preserving stuff for longer trips and harsh environments. I've mainly done fruits (bananas, berry leather, etc), but also coconut flesh and veggie pulp flax seed breads. I've played a little with dehydrating onions and a shreded carrots, the onions where ok, but the carrots need some work (maybe marinated in something taste first). I won

Hi, well in California the weather seems to have gotten great again and it's time to go camping. I'm wonder if anybody has tips/hints for food supplies for raw fooders who are out in the wild. I do three main types of camping. Kayak camping, hiking/wilderness and desert camping. The desert camping is probably the trickiest since any fresh foods which are not in a cooler go off fast (in h

Vodka is normally filter through chard animal bones, FYI. Not sure if this applies to modern vodka, but it was certainly the prefered method for tradisional vodka. Cider is raw, as are many wines. My two exceptions to raw foods are beer and scotch. But with Scotch, it's not been heated for over 10 years, so many it doesn't count as cooked any more. Some beers and Scotch are cured in barrel

Could the body odor you notice be a side effect of the salt drawing out toxins and other bad things in your body? I wise man once told me, avoid bathing after a heavy workout, let the sweat dry on your skin and the salt will draw out the toxins in your body. Ian.

Too much nannying! The store should feel free to give advice if they know it's accurate and factual, but I don't like the idea of other people making my decisions for me, especially against my will! What next, outlaw certain foods that might make people sick/unhappy/unhealthy? As far as ethics, those are different for every person. Your ethics are very different from mine, so their isn't a

I really like Qigong.com, thanks for the link. I don't like RawfoodAdvantage.com. The difference to me is that qigong.com presents the information they have in a more factual way and suggests ways to incorperate the benifits of this information into your life style. Rawfoodadvantage.com presents the information in a very dogmatic, alarmist and hokey-faith based way, telling people how thei

Thanks guys. The research continues. Mainly playing around how much of each to add and ratios, I've found if you use too much veggie pulp to flax flour, it tastes kind of like cardboard... Can you site some reference/sources on this stuff, like bananas bad, or why people with low blood pressure shouldn't drink wheatgrass? Or where you found this information? As for dampness, a normal human body is 60%+ water, hard to get much damper than that. I agree with "Listen to yourself if you can.", but as for the rest, well I'll take your advice and NOT reply on others for

I made some vanilla icecream recently. The cream part was based around cashew nuts with some young coconut flesh in it, I put this in the food processor until it was creamy. I added the coconut milk to get it runny enough, with agarve nector for sweetener and for the vanilla flavor I scraped the inside of a couple of inches of vanilla pod. Then I put the mixture in a Cuisinart ice-20 Ice Cream

You know, I take a lot of that with a pinch of salt. But it's important to have a balanced diet. If you live off juice only, you will most likely have problems, probably steming from a lack of fiber I'd guess. I think that you're a little too caught up in the juice good/juice bad side of things, and maybe should consider what you are juicing. Pomigranite juice is really high in anti-oxidant

But I think a better anwser would be "I'm sure you could eat differently and live shorter"! Without knowing how long your are going to live anyway, I can't really say if a change of diet will increase your years. Maybe another

Hi, I'm looking for recomendations for a raw sugar in crystal form, so far I've been using liquid agave nector as a sweetener for desserts and treats, but some of the recipes I would like to experiment with could probably be done better with a crystal sugar rather than liquid. On the other side of the sugar fence, I know sugar is best avoided and I generally avoid using it where possible.

I think this "Rawfoodadvantage.com" site is complete nonsense, there isn't any citations of references to backup any of the claims make on the site. Not to mention the hypocrisy of making claimings 'juicers are bad', that it's a waste time, that it 'accelerates the aging process', along with "We do not need your business" and "I have a conscience", yet still sel
