Hey Lilpaws! If there is any thing I can do to help you make it to the potluck, let me know (a ride from the train station or whatever). I know it can be a pain getting to/from santa cruz and the rest of the bay area without a car, I did it enough when I live in SC. Isn't there a raw vegan restuarant the openned up in downtown Santa Cruz? I'll be in SC most of tomorrow and want to check i

I've had a idea for some silly raw vegan fun and here's the general idea. It's a game show format with several rounds. I'm thinking that competitors would oragnized into teams of 1 to 4 people Round 1: The Questions. General knowledge questions about raw foods, raw vegans, and anything related to the raw vegan life style or the preperation of raw foods. In this round if teams answering

Jesus was real, Jesus was made up. Jesus was white, Jesus was not white. Jesus was male, Jesus was female. Jesus ate fish, Jesus was vegetarian. Jesus was vegan, Jesus drank goats milk. Jesus used ganja to heal, Jesus did not. Jesus walked on water, Jesus walked on ice. The Bible: A book, written by 22 people, editted by 50,000. Peace, Ian. Where are my hungery Lions!!!

I'm not skeptical, in fact I'm convinced! Convinced this is just some MLM money make scheme that has no place on a raw vegan classifieds board. But that's just me..... CAN I EAT IT? IS IT RAW?

Thanks for the info! I think I should go into the raw organic oat biz! I'm happy to support business supporting the raw vegan life style, although i'd like to pay less. The retail value is bound to a lot high because they don't keep very long. Ian.

Wow, that's really funny, I guess you don't get to be a 'nazi superman' if you eat junk food... Very strange, but I guess in some ways it's not, if you are chasing prefection for your race, health has gotta be an important factor.

Hmmmm, once you add shipping, it costs 72cents more at highvibe.com. Although, I like have multiple options for ordering my food. I think the best deal is probably finding a local farmer and hitting him up around harvest. Thanks, Ian.

It accelerates aging? YOU prove to me it does, you are the one making the aspersions here. This is like the "creationists" saying, "prove to me that my invisable friend didn't make all this stuff"..... I agree with some of what you say, you do seperate out a lot of good stuff with juicing, but the pulp can be used for other things. Also, it's not ALL of the solids that a

I don't they are any raw sakes (the rice is boiled to do some starch conversion). You can get unfiltered which is pretty wholesume (but still heated). At least this is what I learned in the sake museum in berkeley. Ian.

Oat Groats/Berries are probably not raw either (unless they have been sold for farming). Raw oats go rancid quite quickly, which is why most of the oats we can buy are blanched. The "Really Raw Organic Oat Flakes" look interesting, has anybody tried them yet? It would nice to we could buy sproutable organic oats. Cheers, Ian.

I'm not sure if vodka is raw, I think any hard liquor is distilled which involves heat. Also traditional vodka making normal requires that the vodka is filter through charcoalize animal bones (which is kind of un-vegan). Many wines and ciders are raw (although not all). Personally I like alcohol, it's fun at parties (I've just slept 20hours after attending a very good party - well worth th

I water fasted for seven days before starting to eat raw food. I didn't really intend to follow the raw life style, I couldn't keep cooked food down and was looking for a something that would provide a soft/smooth transition from the water fast back to eating again, all my research pointed to raw vegan foods. So I started eating raw foods (greens mainly, with a little fruit, nuts, and root veg

Hi Jilleen, I've not made a batch for a while (I should probably make some tonight or this weekend). It got sunny so I spend more time out doors. For the last couple of batches I was playing with reducing the flax flour and baking powder. The result was something like cardboard :-(, having plently of flax in it is important to keeping it bread like (and avoiding the cardboard problem....

Hi Adrienne, normally soy sauce is made by first steaming soy beans, the mainly difference with Nama Shoyu and the normal stuff, is that Nama Shoyu isn't pasturized before bottling. I've recently heard it's possible to make soy sauce by blending soy beans rather than steaming, but I've not heard anything about modern soy sauces being made this way. I'd be happy to find out Nama Shoyu doesn't

For me, everything is raw, other than: - Nama Shoyu - Miso - Beer - Single malt Scotch I'm playing with replacing Beer with cider (which is raw). The Scotch thing, will, if it's over 10 years since it was heated does it still count...? ;-) I use a little Nama Shoyu in salad dressing a few times a week. Miso I use then making something cheesy tasting, which is once a week or one ev

I've sprouted wild rice before (wild rice isn't really a 'rice', it's a grass seed) and it was pretty nice. Not sure about sprouting regular rice, I guess it would be possible with brown rice. Try and soak it for 3 to 6 hours (or overnight), then rise and leave it some where covered to sprout. Rise it once or twice a day, and try to let it drip dry afterward (too much water/dampness makes it m
