Hey, ELL - I'm confused - your photos show you with coconuts and palm trees but you're talking about snow. Where do you live?

Rosemary & everyone, I've made sauerkraut many times without salt or probiotics, just the cabbage and water in a large jar, tamped down tight. It would take several days to become kraut and was delicious. It didn't rot. It kept in my fridge for months. Recently a batch of kraut didn't 'take' - it got nasty. I've ordered some probiotics and a kraut making kit. I'm looking forward to a d

Thanks, rawlife. That would make a difference. I'm thinking of making a semi-frozen pumpkin pie with almond cream mashed in. I didn't find any pumpkins today at the HFS but it's on my list. I may experiment with other squashes if I can't find pumpkin, although I haven't tried them since I've been raw. They're so hard to cut and peel, and I'm so lazy! Maybe carrots & ginger. What would you

I agree with David, Ela, and Bryan. Rest, sleep, drink a lot. I do best to fast when I'm sick.

I think we need another measure of energy, one that takes joy and playfulness-life- into account. What would we call it, not a calorie but maybe a pixie, a pearl, a sunburst? The light one gives off when happy, healthy, whole, and which does not dissipate but increases as it radiates.

Dr. Schulze's incurables program, which incorporates fresh juices, herbs, a raw diet, and other things has really helped a lot of people. A friend recently died of breast cancer. While she was still alive, a few of us tried to find something to help her. I came across this wonderful woman in the Pacific Northwest who cured herself of ovarian cancer that had spread to the hip and breast. She u

I've been taking the zeolite for about 3 weeks now. I have tons more energy and I'm losing weight. Fatigue and fat (F-squared) have been constant companions since I was a child, so this is a major major major breakthrough. Believe me, zeolite is not the first thing I have tried. I had my fillings replaced years ago but never did a proper detox, and also spent over 2 years on a raw diet with l

There's some interesting testimonials from people with cancer who used zeolite here: There's more here: I've just started using it (I don't have cancer), and I'm having remarkable results: more energy, losing weight, less allergies. This is major for me. I feel like I have a different body.

Hmmm. Politicians must absorb them, they give off a lot when they speak, you can see the heat waves coming off all the hot air. Maybe they've absorbed all the US calories, what d'ya think?

Ken, Oranges with peels? I used to have trouble sleeping that I tracked to digestive disturbances. Those orange peels would have me up for weeks.

If you've maxed out on all that sweet, try green juices for coming off the fast. And congratulations on doing 10 days.

There are terrific recipes right on this website that will help you prepare wonderful meals. In her book, Raw Family, Victoria Boutenko describes that one of her first jobs after she went raw was to prepare food for a wedding for SAD eaters. She made a complete raw feast, including (if I recall correctly) a wedding cake. The guests raved about the food and not one commented on it being raw.

My creamy dressing: Lemon, olive oil, onion, garlic, nama shoyu, soaked cashews, a little tomato, miso, sometimes a little water to thin. Oooo, I love that garlic!

Hi, Amy, Oh, what an adventure! I hope you are having a good time, aside from the food. I second what Ela and Ian have said. I'm a life coach and here's something my clients (and I!) find helpful in changing behavior: Focus on what you want/intend/have rather than what you don't have or want to avoid. For instance, if you want to stop eating cook

I had a friend who went raw many years ago (early 70's). Actually, she was just 90%-95% raw. She had a cyst or fibroid the size of a grapefruit in her uterus that went away completely after about 10 weeks. In addition to the almost raw diet (she also ate an occasional baked potato or steamed vegetable or grain), she had nightly hot baths with epsom salts in them and some light exercises. T

Mimi, I've never heard of such a thing (referring to Huggins saying you need animal protein for detox). This sounds like science du jour not sound science. Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Gabriel Cousins, and many others have fasted and successfully detoxed many many people without any animal products whatever. What does your intuition and body tell you?

Mimi, I also had a hard time detoxing when I had my amalgam fillings removed. Are you doing it with a dentist that uses the correct protocol, with the dental dam and breathing mask etc.? I've done a lot of reading on the zeolite product and it looks just excellent. In reviewing the materials from Gabriel Cousens, and also from the testimonials, there is no mention of amalgam removal. It's very effective for that. Gabriel Cousens has done a lot of research when he fasts people and the has a long list of metals and contaminants that it removes. "At The Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center we have been using Natural Cellular Defense (NCD) for almost a year now. I AM very impressed with it removing heavy metals, such as Mercury, Lead, Arsenic and Cadmium, as well as env

Bryan, Your message is very timely for me. I've just given up coffee and I'm @#$%&. Sleeping about 14 hours a day and dragging myself around. Somewhere in the recesses of my sleepy brain, I realized it's just my body catching up & recovering from the stimulants, but still, I worried. Until I read your post. Thank you.

I like the smoothies much better than juice. I only drink juice on the road now, when I can't get my smoothies. And the smoothies are much easier to make and clean up.
