From the sticky at the top of this forum: Urls in messages will be automatically linked. However, to ensure a link is just like you want it, enclose it in the [] tags. When I stay raw, I don't get sick. When I do get sick, I stick to juices (fresh), and water. If I want more, I make veggie soup, either raw or cooked.

Not only that, but he doesn't give information about the stuff he posts about. In other words, he doesn't contribute helpful information, he just posts these sneaky advertisements. I think those messages should be removed and if he keeps doing it, he should be banned.

rawgetarian, What exactly are they? From the few things I could find on the internet it seems they are some sort of surfactant, but nowhere could I find out what they are actually composed of.

Greenpeach, I'm not up on the biochemistry that makes Vitamin D, Are you sure sunshine would have given you the vit d you needed? Also, that one experience does not necessarily brand Dr. F as a bad practitioner. Sapphire, I agree with what you say. I'd be happy to find a good naturapathic physician, herbologist, or practitioner of other natural medicines, without an MD, but with a lo

I looked at the videos on the soyquick site and the operation and cleanup is way easier using my K-Tec blender. Plus, I get to use the blender for smoothies, etc. But it gave me some ideas...has anyone tried raw soymilk? I wonder how it compares in taste and digestibility to almond milk. I'd like something a little heavier than just fruits and veggies but without all the fat of nuts.

Ok, Rawgetarian, So now that you have our interest, why don't you tell us about Prilling beads, why you like them and what kinds of effects people have noticed?

I used to find wheat grass juice gaggy and then after some fasting and raw diet suddenly it tasted good. Sweet.

Jgunn, That prednisone sounds horrible and I can understand why you don't want to use it. I think you're definitely doing the right thing, though. It's too risky to take chances with your eyesight. Do you know about Dr. Fuhrman (http://www.drfuhrman.com/). He's an MD and naturopath, actually a Natural Hygienist, and uses fasting and diet a lot in his practice. If I had a serious illness, I'

My local water guru doesn't like distilled water. She didn't discuss the Ph but said that every distiller has that steam go through metal parts, possibly aluminum parts. It turns out to be not so pure as we all think.

I vote for seeing a real doctor for the diagnosis and then following a natural cure if you can find one. Continue to see the doctor to make sure your natural remedies are working. The advantages of seeing the doctor are: 1) You will find out what you really have; 2) You will know whether your remedies are working or not, and if you need to try something else; 3) The diagnosis will stop y

Bruce & Emma, First off, congratulations and hats off to you for your healthy diet and weight loss. I struggle with weight and diet too, and admire your achievement. A few years ago, I worked with a Registered Dietitian. The first thing she had me do was to eat normally and send her my food diary at the end of a week. She came back with suggestions for lowering the fat and calories th

Mine are all gone, too, and I'm happy they're out. I don't know where to find them but I have seen studies done on mercury vapor from filled teeth that were consistent with what was reported in the video. Those images were sure hard to believe, though --- it seems you'd be able to see and taste the mercury if it off-gassed so dramatically.

Cynthia, I got that one too, and I'm happy. It's easier to use than the vertical ones. I'm going to sell my Spirooli.

I got my vertical Benriner and I really like it. Much better than the Spirooli. The rubber feet on my Spirooli hardened and became useless after a year, and I can't find replacements. It makes the Spirooli very hard to use. The Benriner is much better because it's vertical.

I'm sorry I included it and really appreciate your generous and open-hearted response. Now on to something more savory: You can make your own delicious raw ketsup using tomatos, soaked sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, salt, and a couple of soaked d

There are plenty of recipes on this site for sauces, dressings, spreads, etc. Check them out and try the ones that appeal to you. You'll be making wonderful, delicious meals in no time. I've taken SAD meat-eating friends and family to raw restaurants (or my home) and they loved the food, some of them even saying it was in the top 5 meals of their lives. So you can make raw foods that are plenty t

I have the K-Tec, too, and prefer it to the Vitamix. I use it for soups, dressings, smoothies, and nut milks (aahhhh!). With the Vitamix, you need to tamp down the food to the blades; the K-tec is so well designed that the food is sucked into the blades and you never have to tamp it down. I love mine.

James, I'd get her Alissa Cohen's combination DVD and book. Have her start with the DVD, which is a 2 + hour video of Alissa in her kitchen preparing food and explaining raw to two ladies. (You could watch it with your Mom). It's a good, professional production, properly lighted, etc., and with a proper DVD menu so you can click to each section. The ladies run a local health food store and want t

What I find is that on the days my diet includes a large salad of sweet, juicy fruits (which may include dates and/or avocado if I'm really hungry) and a green smoothie or green drink, I'm OK. I also eat more than recommended amounts of nuts and seeds, but I'm ok with that.

I'd just like to add a note of deep wonder and gratitude at the forgiving resiliency of the body. That we can actually sleep off the years of fatigue as we do, finally. It's like turning back the clock, undoing all the mistakes of the past, reversing age and abuse. We can't take back words or deeds, but our bodies seem to restore to us health and joy anytime we let them. How amazing and great is
