If it were bile/detox, then it would be more widespread among fasters and raw foodies. A friend of mine who drank lots of carrot juice turned yellow, too, and he also ate junk food when his wife wasn't looking (that's another story!) Anyhow, I think it's pigment from the veggies, not detox.

First off, congratulations on losing all that weight! I've been struggling to stay on any diet and need to lose weight, too. Your post is an inspiration. I lost a ton of weight a long while ago on this diet: Raw mono fruit meals during the day At night: Large raw vegetable salad with 1/2 avocado. Dressing could be lemon juice, blended veggies I could have a baked potato or any steam

Fud, parsley is a good diuretic but I would just drink a lot of water right now. Your body is holding water around the poison of the meds and that's why you're swelling up. Drinking water will let the cells release water too.

These people have the best cherry tomato seedlings (organic). You want organic tomatos because most of the conventional stuff is genetically engineered. I just put in 6 tomato plants this weekend but I couldn't get local organic cherry tomatos. I've ordered 4 plants from these folks. I've used them before. They ship and their stuff is great.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't fast on MC at this time, I'd ramp up on juices, greens, and other raw. If you want to detox from the SAD food you ate recently, fruit is more purifying than veggies, but just follow what your body wants. Also, ouch! Get well soon!

I found the same thing. A little nut butter on the banana or a few nuts gives me more stamina. Also watch out for dehydration - that gets me more than the blood sugar.

Arugula, It's really easy to grow arugula from seed: You prepare the seed bed from your good organic soil (rake it well so it's like coffee grounds). Moisten the soil. Then mix the arugula seed with a bunch of dry soil to make it more spreadable, and then spread the seed/soil mixture on your prepared seed bed. Finally cover the seed with ~1/8"-1/4" of soil. Keep it well water

Fud, Good for you making it through that night. I agree with the others here who suggested to just eat what you want as long as it's raw. Also, it sounds like you're not eating enough. My experience is that often it takes a whole lot of food to feel full on raw -- lots of fruits, lots of veggies. Have you read 'Raw Family'? The Boutenkos went raw that way, just eating anything and ever

Yes, I posted it because it is a mainstream report and a resounding endorsement from the American Diabetic Association of low-fat veganism as a way to reverse diabetes. There's not a big leap from that to raw in most SAD eaters' minds. It also may help some of us here to have the hard scientific data showing the effects of diet. I don't know about others but I have a hard time sticking to raw

Peisinoe: That is way neat (about your kidney specialist). And also very neat that your husband apologized and you were both able to talk openly about his feelings. I also love Gosia's suggestion that you both have bloodwork. Way to go!

A study published in Diabetes Care , a journal published by the American Diabetes Assoc. found: WASHINGTON (Reuters) - People who ate a low-fat vegan diet, cutting out all meat and dairy, lowered their blood sugar more and lost more weight than people on a standard American Diabetes Association diet, researchers said on Thursday. This doesn't sound like he has an issue with your diet, it sounds like this is a man who just wants to put you down, someone so childish and immature that anything the least bit out of his notion of normal is threatening to him. He does not sound like a 'very intelligent man' but an ignoramus who is intent on bullying you. I suspect that if he didn't have your diet to criticize he'd find some

Kwan, Just to add a note: The NCD Zeolite is sold via multi-level and is IMHO grossly overpriced. THey also claim to have 'activated' it in a way that removes impurities - their claim to fame, so to speak, and the reason to buy their product, not the other zeolites that are cheaper. I have no idea if their activated zeolite is better than others, and I have a lot of issues with the expense, th

Kwan: The guy in your link is selling his own health services, including tons of supplements. Not exactly an impartial source! Zeolite has been used for scores of years in animal husbandry to remove aflatoxins. There has been a lot of research on it, including clinical trials on cancer, showing it to be safe and have positive results. Many people on this site (including me) have had wonderf

Pistachio, If you read the reference links I provided, you'll see that these people claim laxatives, etc. will not remove the decades-old incrustation of hardened mucoid plaque. They claim there is a buildup 1/4"-1/2" thick that is hardened almost like enamel and state clearly that it cannot be removed by laxatives, let alone one dose of a laxative. They say it must be removed by

Cell phone towers are just one theory. According to the article on CNN, something like this happened in the 1880s: "There have been other fluctuations in the number of honeybees, going back to the 1880s, where there were "mysterious disappearances without bodies just as we're seeing now, but never at this magnitude," You can read the article here:
