Ok, I just bought a big fresh chunk of ginger. Now, how do I use it ??? Do you wash it? Peel it before juicing it?? How much should I use? Do I use it with sweet or savory juices? Thanks for the tips. =)

Hi Prism - I don't mind answering, just as long as you don't hope for immediate answers during my work schedule. =) Dry Powdered Charcoal is not "heavy" by any means. It's actually pretty light. This is probably one of the best websites to help. They also have instructions for making poultices: For use over an eye, you would use cheesecloth or strong paper towel. Follow t

Forgive me, but your post just made me laugh and laugh because of your humor. I've been there. I'm sure we've ALL been there!! Sore throat, headache, and depression = all symptoms of toxic waste build-up from the rich cooked foods that are unfamiliar to your body. Coffee is a natural diruetic and can also stimulate peristalsis (bowel movement). So all of that combined resulted in a good old

Yep. You're right. It is absolutely required and has been for years. Which is really odd for an almost obselete disease for which there is no vaccine. Shows you who is REALLY in control in our government, because to be fair, they should also require tests for AIDS, HIV, HEP B & C, and on and on and on. "Oh, but THOSE are politically incorrect and would be invasion of privacy!"

I got some free samples of the "Calm" powder to put into water. Didn't taste too bad. Didn't know too much about Magnesium until then, other than that it is a necessary electrolyte for our body. Thanks for sharing. =)

You're all absolutely right about the bazillion uses of Activated Charcoal. It has been used for hundreds of years and it's powers are limitless. I took handfuls of it (in capsule form) when I had my tummy virus. (Just be prepared for the BLACK stools. *LOL*) Its most powerful use is as a poultice. Used externally, it is a powerful "magnet" to pull out toxins from the body and has

Thanks for the heads-up on the VM, Adrian. I'm so excited to get one as I've wanted it for a long time. I love smoothies, but my old Bosch machine just ain't cuttin' it. I'm so anxious to try it. I own a custom clothing company and ship products every day, so I'll check on shipping to canada. There might be a way around it. I'll let you know. No pressure, but just an option. Thanks

I will try it, but does severe carpal tunnel affect the ability to feel this energy? Part of my right hand is completely numb anyway. (I refuse surgery!) I will give this a try. Maybe my left hand will work better. Thanks for the suggestion. =)

Hi Lee. Was it you that I was talking to about this? I'm so sorry that I forgot who it was. =( It's hard to keep up with all the threads on the forums. I primarily juice: Apples, Greens, Celery, Grapes, Citrus, and other soft fruits. I don't care for carrots, but I know the VRT can handle some of the baby carrots when I decide to use them, so that's good enough for me.

I was talking about selling my juicer to a member on this forum, but I can't find the thread where I promised to give him the heads-up when I listed it for sale. So if you see this message, you can find the info at this thread: I really like my Omega VRT for the kind of juicing that I do, and I need to sell the GS to I can afford to buy a Vita Mix Blender. =) Since starting my RAW journ

I'm not sure if this is appropriate to list Ebay auction information, so if it is not, I hope the moderator will remove or edit my post. Anyway, for those interested, I have listed my GS 1000 juicer for sale on Ebay at this link:

Is Ginger hot or spicy? I always enjoyed cooking with it in the past in the standard powdered form, but never really juiced with it in fresh form and would like to start using it for general health and for winter immunity. What is the taste of it "fresh" or "raw?"

Ah, another one to go investigate. Ok, thanks for the suggestion. =) I did find the Spiral Slicer on ebay for only $13, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with that, even if it ends up in a yard sale. *LOL* =)

Silly question - what exactly do you feel when you feel the energy? Is it something that you are able to articulate into words? Sounds like a very helpful process when buying fresh produce. Thanks.

To explain that a little further, Tofu is the by-product of making soy milk. The beans are cooked, blended, processed, and strained. The liquid is "Soy Milk," and the remaining blended, cooked beans (usually known as "curd" is pressed into blocks to make "Tofu." So the product is definitely cooked. I used to love steamed Edamame (raw young soy beans) before my R

Oh goodie! A fun POSITIVE thread! I forgot these existed on the forum. What a relief. I was buying groceries today for our dinner tomorrow because we are having a combined family birthday party hosted in our home with the traditional SAD pizza and ice-cream-cake, so I wanted to have the fixins' for a big salad for myself and hubby. I was reminded how a big salad has become my "comfort

My husband just said to stop being "pedantic" (yes his word, sitting here at his desk next to mine) and also said that your comments make absolutely no sense. *giggle* I read the whole paragraph aloud and he just shook his head and crossed his eyes at me and said "huh?" I agree with jgunn. It is actually convenient and quick to grab my "pre-packaged" food to throw in a bag and take to work. Easy to chop, peel, or just munch straight from the bag. Very fast and convenient and filling. I also love how I FEEL when eating raw. I feel cleaner, lighter, healthier, brighter, more energetic, and the list is endless.... I, personally, don't have alot
