ELL......It's uncanny how you and I never seem to agree on anything. I say 'juice it' and you say 'blend it'. Have you ever tried juicing wheatgrass?......WY

A centrifugal juicer may introduce some oxygen into the juice. I remember, years ago, performing a 'test' when I had both a centrifugal and a twin-gear juicer. I juiced a quantity of carrot juice with each and stored it in the refrigerator. I didn't notice any difference in the oxidation of either one. In other words, they both oxidized at the same rate. It wasn't a very scientific test, but it c

Wheatgrass shouldn't be blended because there are sharp fibers in the grass that would enter the stomach. You could perhaps use a fine strainer. However, to retain the full nutrition of wheatgrass, it should be juiced, and the best juicer for wheatgrass is a single-auger.......WY

I have good energy when I'm just drinking wheatgrass and carrot juice and not taking any additional fiber. There is fiber in the juice and it eventually builds up enough to work its way through. Juicing Toxic? Nah...don't buy it!! "To fully test something you need to experience it". Or in other words...."The proof of the pudding is in the eating"........WY

I probably spend longer than anyone when it comes to juicing. Every morning (damn near anyway) I have wheatgrass juice followed by carrot juice. I don't really rush, but from start to finish, leaving a clean kitchen, and composting the pulp, takes me 1 1/2 to 2 hours........WY

That's good La_V. Your mind works just like mine. I have 7 parts to clean with my Omega 4000 and they're all not that easy. But I look to cleanup with pleasure because I enjoy my carrot juice every morning. It's almost like a Japanese Tea Ceremony. They can make it a religious experience. We can do the same thing with preparing Carrot Juice (or whatever) and cleaning up......WY

On 'paper' the Norwalk Hydraulic Press Juicer is the best juicer made because of (as their website boasts) "Better tasting juice with no oxidation!". I did a lot of research before ordering one. I found the Norwalk very difficult to use and clean. I never could get the 'hang' of using the grinder, or trituator, as they call it. I always ended up with carrot pieces all over the place. Pl

It's music to my ears to read the posts here about juicing and juicers. Yes, we'll disagree about which juicer(s) to use, but the bottom line is to reap the benefits of juicing no matter what juicer we prefer. I've tried many juicers over the years, including the Norwalk Press, the Nutrifaster and Ruby Commercial, 3 twin-gears, 2 Champion juicers, 5 or 6 single-auger models, and as many centrifug

The Acme is very similar in looks to the Omega. I have never owned one. It's been over 20 years since I've owned the Omega 9000. Believe me, cleanup is not a 'snap'. The pulp that is caught in the basket is a real 'mess' to clean. I've recently owned the Breville Juice Fountain Elite. It's a beautiful machine of brushed stainless steel. The pulp comes out very dry....quite a bit drier than with

Horsea......You can read a few reviews of the Omega 9000 at .....The 9000 will produce better quality juice than the 4000 but it is not a continuous juicer. The filter basket gets filled with pulp and has to be cleaned. The 9000 is a beautiful machine with only stainless steel coming in contact with the juice. The 4000 has a plastic top that stains badly. If you're only interested in juicing a

I'm an avid juicer of carrots and have tried just about every juicer there is. I know the centrifugal, pulp ejection juicers have gotten some bad press here but the juicer I like best for carrots is the Omega 4000. I probably give up something in nutrition, over the twin-gears, but the ease of juicing makes up for it. I love the way the motor 'purrs' while making short work of a big bowl of fresh

'Habit' is the key to drinking wheatgrass juice. Budget some time everyday for drinking wheatgrass juice. First thing in the morning and 2 (or 3) ounces work best for me. Yes, it'll be strong and unpleasant at first. But after a while you'll actually look forward to your morning 'Green Juice'......WY "Do what is best. Athena......This probably shows that you're 'cleaner' this year than you were last. Also, the amount of fiber in your juice has a lot to do with it. I just finished going 14 days on Juices. I drank a lot of carrot juice that contained a good amount of fiber and had regular movements. For maximum healing it would be best to strain the fiber from the juice......WY

If I was only going to buy one juicer for everything, I'd buy the large twin gear (Green Star). I think you may be confused (or maybe I am. LOL). As far as I can tell the Green Star and the Hipprocrates are two different juicers, with the Green Star having large twin gears and the Hipprocrates having small twin gears. The Oscar Vitalmax looks like it is manufactured in the UK. It resembles the Sa

Jeff.....Your old Oster should work very well. There has been some discussion that 2+ HP blenders break down the cell walls (a good thing) of vegetables, whereas the smaller blenders won't. It would make a good 'first juicer' to see if you're serious. I used a manual wheatgrass juicer (Back-to-Basics) for years before graduating to an electric model. For a few more dollars you can buy one on eBay at a good price. Plus, it's all stainless steel.....WY
