here's another one Mindy. Google John Fielder. He's almost 80 and a still practicing naturopath. He has his own organic property in Tropical Northern Queensland, Australia.

Prana, I admire what you have done. You and John are an inspiration to a lot us - but not a lot of us are able to achieve what you both have achieved. As i said above, what we are saying now is only a snapshot in time of where we are at this point in time. As long as we are healthy and happy now, that is what is important. As for the future, let's reserve the right to change our minds - and

'' Success has a thousand fathers, failure is an orphan ''. When it comes to hygienists it's the exact opposite. If they succeed, all the credit goes to their healthy / raw diet. If they ' fail ', or more correctly ', if their theoretically correct book diet does not sustain them, then we shift the goalposts and find a whole lot of reasons other than diet as to why it didn't work, but we are not

" I think it is well known that humans came from the land of Nubia ( the Equator )". Do you think, or is it accepted science or fact? Did we evolve from the apes? How long ago, and does anyone really know, and does it matter any more what what we ate and where we lived millenia ago? Even assuming you are right, we are not the same race as we might have been hundreds of thousands of yea

According to his books, Norman Walker used honey, raw cream and some cheese so he wasn't a strict vegan. Also, he didn't seem to worry too much about food combining because he would make a meal of juicy fruit, nuts, vegies, dried fruit or whatever and washed down with a juice ( another taboo)- but he seemed to be a moderate eater which helps explain his longevity. You can't live a long life if y

Yes it is true, but it's not highly publicised. That's why you shouldn't believe everything you read in books or on the internet about health, or when people give you simplistic solutions to complex physical problems. Keep reading but don't believe everything blindly.

Eating vegan and eating healthy are not the same. There are many vegan junk food eaters and they are less healthy than healthy eating meat eaters who eat a simple diet predominantly of fruit, vegies, salads and a small amount of meat etc. Just looking at the mixture of sour cream, butter, oil, soy sauce, vinegar and everything else is enough to make anyone's stomach turn. Try to simplify your

Powerlifer, good to see your input again for a bit of balance and realism. Maybe you should avoid getting into any debates or heated exchanges with the '' all or nothing '' few who live in their own world.

John, I'm not angry with you. Yes, I have been on this board on and off for 13 years. I said in my post that for some people 100% raw works, and if it does then that is great for them, but what about the vast amounts of people who it doesn't work for. Not everyone is born with a genetically blessed body like yourself, DR and DG, where they are able to adopt a 100% raw diet and it works fo

John, You're belief that 100% raw is the perfect food for everyone is a relic from the 1960's and 70's where people blindly believed anything they were told. The world has moved on,and fortunately so has this board. 100% raw works for some people - either short term or long term, and that's great. There are many people it's not suitable for, and you blindly and religiously repeating the same n

A bit of Deja Vu on this board at the moment - arguments and petty mindidness. This is what it used to be like for a long long time, but fortunately it has evolved to a board to help real people deal with the real world we live in. The reality is that whilst the 100% raw works for some people, it doesn't work for a lot of people, and to pretend it would work for everyone irrespective of their g

If you are just doing it for the short term, why worry about protein? You are not going to die or get protein deficient in a few days or weeks, or even a month or two. If you are doing it for cleansing then the issue of protein isn't a problem either. Just have your green juices in the mornings and don't get too hung up on such small issues. Most of us have gone through that stage - trying to ana

Not really a good idea. Here is what I do. Do you have a blender? In my blender I put in a banana, or a cup of grapes, or a small amount of other fruit for flavouring only. Then i will throw in quite a bit of kale leaves ( but not the stem ), add 8 oz of water and blend. That gives me about 1 1/2 cups. At other times i will add a stalk of celery to the kale, or i will just use plenty of gre

This board wasn't always such a nice, understanding and tolerant place like it is nowadays. Good to see that this board is now more about helping people get better, rather than pushing an ideology down their throat.

Raw Please I think you need to look at the big picture of the planet before you start criticising others. We have the crew of the Sea Shepherd going into the Antarctic and risking their lives to save the whales and if they eat some animal products to keep them warm then are they a lesser person than you? Dianna Fossey gave her life so the mountain gorrilas could have some hope of survival. It's

Graham is basing 80/10/10 on his own body and the fact he is athletic and has good digestion, assimilation, etc., ...and it works for him and a small number of other people. That's great for them, but you need to find what works for you. If you have a slow metabolism, weak genes,a sedentary job and can't eat 20 bananas and 2 heads celery in one sitting strict 8/1/1 is of no use to you. Everyon

Don't look at cooked food as ' your enemy ' or cooked toxins, because a lot of us were brainwashed in the past. It's not a crime and by just eating a bit and not worrying about it you can then proceed any way you like.

Without being divisive or too argumentative ( but being realistic ), asking a question phrased the way you have phrased it on this board is like being on a Christian board and asking if Christianity is the only true religion. What answer would you expect on a Christian board? Likewsise the question you are asking here. Who's not to say that by eating 80 - 90 % raw and some cooked that by cutt

Cheating on food is the equivalent of going for a walk around the park as opposed to climbing Mount Everest. Not everyone wants to climb Mount Everest, or more importantly, not everyone needs to climb Mount Everest to get results. The correct term is ' brainwashing', not cheating. A lot of us were brainwashed into believing that if you ate something objectionable then you undid all the good or sh

You can't compare humans to animals. If you aren't a fit animal in the wild you die, whereas many of us have been born with weak bodies as well as weak genetic lines but can still live long healthy happy lives. We don't need to toil physically to get our food. All animals are physically fit from strong genetic lines that are active on a daily basis unlike many humans. That's why different individu

Paul Bragg lied about his age.He added an extra 10 years or so to make it look like he was older - not that it detracts from his teachings, or does it?? If you google his name, someone checked through his birth certificate and other official records. I was disappointed to find this out. Can we trust anyone if we couldn't trust him? Also, Patricia is his daughter in law, not his daughter like h

We need to differentiate between someone who is a troll and someone we disagree with. I have mellowed and even don't mind DR now - even though I don't agree with a lot of what he proffers. DR and DW offer a lot, and the few '' failings '' they have compared to the good they do is nothing compared to the destruction that many people on the outside do, so we should focus our bile and vitriol on th

For me the underlying premise of 811 is wrong. The fact that it has found to be a sustainable diet for one very athletic physical person is the issue. Not everyone has the need, the desire or the ability to be so athletic, or has the body or stomach capacity to eat that much and stretch their stomach in two meals. One persons long term success isn't a validation of the diet. Many people live long

I recently bought a punnet of blueberries. They were sour as, and terrible. There was a website on the packet so I went there and read that it was an organic farm in New Zealand. I sent them an email telling them their blueberries were sour and perhaps their soil was depleted, or the weather wasn't warm enough. The reply I received was that they Brix test the blueberries, and it depended on t

Prana, I think you should consider banning DR. He has his own website and if he wants to advertise here let him pay commercial rates. Whilst that alone isn't a reason for banning him, he represents the ugly face of raw food - something which isn't a good look on a site like this where you are trying to promote a positive harmonious image of raw food to new visitors. It's one thing to have a d

I'm in the same club. Along with all the other smells and late noise parties, they smoke crystal meth? crack cocaine? ice? or whatever it is, a strong chemical smell. I tried complaining to the agent but all the units have different owners and agents and the agent wasn't really interested so I am looking to move.

Every human body is different and reacts differently, and the healthy non raw or non vegan have that buffer from eating the heavier foods. There are many healthy people than can go out drinking and get blind drunk and get home at 4 in the morning and get up at 6 in the morning and do a hard days labour - just lucky being born with a fantastically strong body. Since we seem to be going in circl
