TSM, do you mean imposter? Could it be Durian Rider from '30 Pieces of Pizza a Day '. Maybe there is some method in his madness. Maybe he is going into business with a friend selling vegan pizzas and is gearing up and getting a bit of free publicity.

How old are you Diogenez? Are you 100% raw vegan? Have you been 100% raw the whole time? The raw diet works for a small number of people, but the success rate is low. There are also many many people who eat a healthy diet of both raw and cooked and lived well into their 80's and 90's. I think we need to tell people all the facts and not paint a totally unrealistic picture. I don't think many p

Numenor, you shouldn't mention David Wolfe's name on this board. Here he is regarded worse than the devil. You sound like you are new to all this, so welcome, but don't believe anything anyone says here. The only thing that matters for you is what works for you, not what someone else tells you. They don't have your body, and if you follow their advice and your body stuffs up they won't be around

Panchito, did you have a lapse of memory? Shouldn't you have had a nice large separate photo of Harley with 1) a nice big needle showing him injecting himself with B12. 2) show him holding the dispenser of white sugar from the cafe and pouring half of it in his water bottle for carbohydrates. 3) and a nice big caption with him eating 3 pizzas nonstop. Isn't that a great advertisement

SO if someone wants to eat a large salad with a small amount of oil it's not ok despite the rest of their diet being good? What about eating 10 bananas in one sitting and stretching their stomach beyond their normal capacity, is that ok because it's raw vegan ? Is it ok to eat 3 vegan pizzas in one sitting because they are vegan and non fat? It's not the 2, 3 or 5% that is the problem,

There's another video of him eating 3 pizzas and pasta, but having them one at a time so it's more than a one off. Bloody unbelievable, but at least he isn't eating them in secret and still claiming to be 100% whatever. Does he say if he is he making his own base, or is he buying the base? It looks pretty thick and airy so it looks almost like white flour pizza. I doubt if he could eat three 1

I can't believe he actually ate the 3 pizzas. I thought it was just a gimmick, but it looks like he ate it. As for the sugar, would he actually have drank all that sugar with water? A real good advertisement for the raw vegan movement!!! You have to give Harley marks for honesty, but take them all away for hypocrisy after what he has been preaching. Is their anything more unhealthy than pourin

Are these tips based on your own body, or have you taken 1000 people at random and had them follow these tips and had a 90% + success rate that you are able to authoritatively say these 3 tips are guaranteed to work? Those tips are about as scientific as Doug Grahams program where he bases the success on his own body and the ever diminishing handful of people it works for - not the numerous pe

Advertising isn't about telling people the truth about a product, it's about selling the product to people. The truth has nothing to do with advertising. As for people using the term ' organic ', it's meaningless as well these days. If you want the truth then you need to do what you did - check out the veracity of the claims. If you can't trust health and raw gurus to tell the complete truth,

There is no such thing as natural wine. Grapes have to be tampered with to make wine, and often the tampering process involves such things as adding sugar and yeast, and even preservatives to keep it from going off. The term ' natural wine ' or ' organic wine ' is just a marketing ploy to fool people, or make them feel better about drinking wine. It's probably better than drinking 100% commercial

When was the last time you went around to a banana palm a picked a ripe banana from it? When was the last time you went around to a date palm and grabbed a handful of dates? It's a nonsense argument that Doug Graham offers. We aren't living in neanderthal times. Do you use hot water to shower with? There were no hot showers a million years ago, so does that mean it's not natural to shower? D

Maybe it's the sugar / sweetness that attracts the mosquitos, but we have to beware of all alleged claims. Have they been to Africa or deep in the tropics of Asia or South America to test the claims? Also, TSM, are you aware that at one point where Kulvinskas was promoting sprouts, raw food et al he was actually eating cooked and processed foods on the sly - and has admitted it, so we need to bew

RawPractilast, you're missing the whole point of this discussion. You need to leave your ego out of this. We aren't saying you shouldn't be eating fruit. What we are saying is the nonsense that keeps getting repeated just doesn't stand up to what is really happening. They're straw man arguments - as soon as the wind blows, they fall over. Why is the success rate of 100% fruit diets almost zero

How can anyone argue with the non-logic that is proffered up by people like Doug Graham? Didn't all the land mammals originally evolve from sea creatures. Whales, dolphins, seals, etc need to come up for air to breathe, and we evolved from them. Or for the sake of the argument do we only go as far back as the apes, not our original ancestors, just to suit out pet theory? And where were these

There are lot of good points being made, but there are two I disagree with. The first I disagree with is - citing the odd successful person here or there, such as Brian Clements being a successful raw vegan ( if in fact he really is. Does he take supplements? they are cooked? Has anyone followed him 24 hours a day?). Some people have such fantastic genetics that they will succeed on any diet,

To egos, can we also include totally useless and irrelevant ' scientific studies '. What purpose is a study done on Iranians living in a rustic rural village growing their own food naturally, - and eating it freshly picked? Most of us live in big polluted cities eating sanitised shop bought food, breathing in tons of pollution. That's the reality, and that's what we have to deal with. That's

On the 80/10/10 board someone asked if garlic was ok to eat. Their pat answer was no, unless you can make a meal out of it in nature it's not fit for human consumption. Then I posed the question, how many people can make a meal out of celery or lettuce, or parsley or other herb? Show me one 811er who sits down to a meal of celery, yet they are encouraged to eat 10% calories of greens. There's a

Panchito wrote '' carrots are said to be high in oxalates ( kidney stones ) ''. Is this one of those nonsensical unscientific statements made by someone with a ' beef ' against carrots? I'm afraid we can't let these pet theories go unchallenged any more. What justification do you have to make this statement? How many people have gotten kidney stones from eating carrots? Where is the proof? Di

Rzman10001, some people have fantastic digestion and are able to eat 8 bananas and function normally, so maybe it's ok for Panchito to eat that many. Hopefully he is also eating quite a lot of greens with the bananas and fruit. Panchito, how long have you been on the raw / strict diet eating 8 - 12 bananas a day?

Rzman ... the reality is that for a lot of people the digestive abilities that they are born with is all they have and will ever have. We have people who are born with good genetics who can run ultra marathons, do the remarkable Hawaiin Ironman , and still others who can swim Florida to Cuba and back, but other people irrespective of how much they trained - their bodies just wouldn't be able to

TSM, are you familiar with John Fielder? You can google him and read his bio. I went to see him in 1976 and his advice was to eat fruit and nuts mainly. Now for himself he has fruit. salads, nuts and raw goat dairy a couple of times a week as he feels he needs the concentrated protein. He is over 80 and has been a practicing naturopath with an organic farm / health retreat living in the tropics f

I actually agree with what the study found. He wasn't talking about people who have an interest in health like we do. He was directing it at the mainstream of society. He wasn't referring to people who might make a smoothie at home with 2 or 3 bananas or 2 or 3 mangoes and add water, or might put fresh fruit in and add water, greens, parsley or celery. He was giving a warning to mainstream people

I can't see how sprouts can replace greens or food grown in soil. The months that the greens spend in the soil and the sun provide the nutrients we need, whereas sprouts are just grown with water. Having said that, humans can live long healthy lives irrespective of what they eat as long as it's relatively healthy food, so we shouldn't micromanage our eating to the point of absurdity.

Funny thing about '' posting science and exposing then '' on a board like this!!! It seems that people on these boards only use science to back up their arguments when it suits them. If it doesn't agree with them or suits their argument then they rubbish the science - e.g. flouride, protein, the 5 food groups, etc, so how are we going to decide which science to support?

How is it possible for a person living in the city to be an ethical vegan when everything they consume is owned by non vegans, grown by non vegans, transported by non vegans, wholesaled by non-vegans, transported to non vegan retailers, and then sold in shops by non vegans? All they are doing is supporting the non-vegans 100% financially, unless everything they consume is supported by a whole cha

How many of these pineapples have you already eaten? Are they perfectly ripe? Why not buy 1 or 2 and eat them and see how your lips, tongue, mouth, teeth and body react. Eating bulk acidy pineapples isn't like eating sweet fruit like bananas or mangoes, or are you aware of this already?

KidRaw, if things are left too late and there is too much damage done to the specific organs or parts of the body, in a lot of cases it's just too late - even with fasting, juicing, organic apples, or whatever, etc. That's why it's important to look after the body while we are still well, but that's easier said than done, and don't I know it!!! Also, Steve Jobs smoked a lot of dope in his early l

In order to understand Tom and his work it's good to know where he is coming from, and then people might know why he seems to be so negative or angry. There are many of us around from those times who believed whatever we read and tried it - with disastrous results. There was no internet in the 70's or 80's to get feedback or to find out the truth, so everyone thought it was just themselves having
