Dougs backup plan didn't work too well for Harley. Harley would have eaten tons and tons of fruit, but look where it got him - protein and mineral depletion, so in the end even he had to give up, but rather than admitting it he used the excuses of; '' @#$%& fruit in Adelaide, too expensive, and ' a back up plan ''. I've been to Adelaide and there is no shortage of anything there. One third of A

Also, here we aren't falsely promising anyone magic health by following x y or z like the other sites. For new people the idea that they can get super healthy and solve all their health issues by following what one person says is more appealing than listening to the truth and getting sensible advice. They aren't told about the high failure rates and all the pitfalls and the consequences, just bu

Very professionally done, and quite funny. But there is more bad news for Harley. I just pulled out my Crystal ball and connected it up to my time machine and punched in Harley AKA Durianrider 2024 and here is what came up. There is Harley still spruiking on the internet, but time hasn't been too good to him. Now he has his false teeth and a wig on, plus the 30 slices of pizza a day has add

This story of the cherries reminds me of something a friend of mine told me. He comes from Lebanon. They had acreage and lived in the mountains where they grew their own food. He talked about eating their naturally grown tomatoes. He said they ate their tomatoes like we eat our apples. You had to eat it one bite at a time as the whole tomato was flesh - a whole food. That's why I think referring

Here is an interesting experiment I did unintentionally. Yesterday as I was walking home I passed the small local market. It's a mixed bag of everything. It's not a farmers market, but occasionally some fresh produce is there. As i was walking past I saw some cherries. I wasn't going to buy any at $10 a large punnet, but they had some for tasting. After tasting one I found it was amazing -

There's a difference between a genuine vegan and a token ' ethical ' vegan. In a previous post weeks ( or months ) ago I outlined the environmental, ethical and vegan footprint of someone living in a temperate zone and relying on the calories from bananas from the tropics to sustain them. It shows the absurdity of taking things in isolation. It's what people eat and do 95% of the time that matter

Harley doesn't have any credibility as far as his diet and eating goes. The only thing that saves him from total oblivion and farce is his current athletic ability - because he is still young. Let's see how long it lasts on his '' backup plan '' of white sugar and 30 slices of pizza a day. Give him 10 years and the pictures he uses of other older people to denounce and mock them will be him. When

Amusing, interesting and entertaining. Amongst many other things, Harley says Doug eats nut butters that have been cooked during the grinding process???, and none of the other raw pioneers have been raw for 5 years and they eat anything from Mcdonalds to eggs - and to misquote Seinfeld, '' not that there is anything wrong with eating those things '' OCCASIONALLY ''.

Food was meant to be eaten by humans, but all the issues with food that you have mentioned are because very few of us grow our own food and pick it fresh and eat it, and the rest has been tampered with, stored, etc. Natural fruit is more fibrous and often full of seeds but that's been all bred out of it by scientists, along with demineralised soils, etc. so commercial fruit is basically sugar and

He is not 100% raw any more and eats cooked food. At least now he is willing to debunk some of the 100% raw propaganda that we are fed. When was that quote about wheatgrass? Maybe he has changed his tune now.

There's a difference between craving sugar and eating a pound of dates a day and two pounds of grapes. There's obviously something wrong somewhere if you need to eat a pound of dates. Are you an ultra athlete? Maybe you need to consult with someone like Harley. He's been down that road - as have many of us before him, and look where he has ended up - drinking white sugar with water and eating 3 w

Suncloud, unless Harley is suffering from premature Alzheimers or a bad case of amnesia, how can you even attempt to justify his putting half a dispenser of sugar in water? He's done the run many times before so he knows what's involved. What about his boasting about dates, bananas and water in the past - surely he could have brought some along - and in the past mocking and denigrating everyone e

I've long held the same belief as The Storm. I don't believe we have evolved from apes.I believe that at some point in the distant past a more technically advanced civilisation visited Earth and that they interbred their lower forms of life with our apes and let them loose on the planet, and that's us now. Otherwise, how come no apes have evolved - or are evolving into human beings at this very m

No. It's just the generic name for the small plastic disposable container. At the moment a punnet of blueberries weighs 125 grams. A punnet of strawberries weighs 250gms, and the larger punnets of strawberries weigh 375gms.It all depends on the size of the punnet and the items inside it.

A punnet is the small plastic container with a lid that they sell the berries in. You can't buy loose ones - the berries are all pre packed.

I think the more accurate description of the 80/10/10 diet is ... 80 per cent failure rate. 10 per cent success. 10 per cent ambivalent. You would think with such a low medium to long term success rate he would question why it is so. In fact I wonder if he even has such a high success rate as 10%.

When anyone presents '' scientific '' evidence on a board like this I laugh. Scientific also says we need food from the 5 main food groups - fruit, vegies, grains, dairy and meat. Eating a scientific healthy diet is eating a fat laden diet of pasta, fish and everything else. If you look hard enough you can find anybody to support anything. None of us '' recalcitrants '' on this board are argu

And by referring to '' The Dirty Dozen '', I don't mean the dozen or so of us bickering amongst each other. I am referring to the dirty dozen listed fruits / vegies which should be avoided because of their pesticides. That's another nonsensical meaningless thing that someone has proffered. It's ok if you live in California where there might be a big variety of organic produce, but living here

Panchito, you said it. The only diet that is important to a person is the diet that works for them, not something that works for one individual.

I have to correct and clarify my statement about the human race being a rotten race. It's only since industrialsation and the coming of the white people to the old world that they have destroyed the environment.

The Pritikin diet originally relied on the heavy usage of grains and severely restricted the use of fruit. Any diet was better than the horrible SAD American and American influenced diet so any diet removing all that fat and junk food made a big improvement.

TSM, to answer your question about why we can't eat a raw diet - because the human race is a rotten race. Everywhere they go the destroy the natural environment. Was there ever a human race as we know them who ate a raw diet, and what would it have consisted of? No wild tribes or peoples that have been discovered in the last 4 hundred years have been on a 100% strict raw diet, and if there eve

Banana who, with all due respect, you're just splitting hairs in trying to defend them. What's the difference with gluten and gluten free - it's all cooked? They still need to put it in an oven with oils and whatever, and it's not natural.Pasta doesn't grow on trees. They can eat whatever they like, but they should just come out and admit they were rude, hypocritical and egotistical. They're

There was an interesting question posed on the 80/10/10 on 17/ 11, " Ancestors and vegetables '' asking about modern fruit and vegies as opposed to how they were originally before mankind tampered with them. It's worth reading his answer. The really interesting thing was the answer from Doug Graham. Basically he said who cares what the fruit and vegies were like in the distant past. Who cares

If the 100% strict raw vegan diet isn't working for Harley and Freelee any more then why should they go back to it. Their problem is going to the other extreme and eating 3 pizzas in one sitting.

That's if you believe in god, and if you do, then god meant us to eat our food freshly picked in nutrient rich soil. Nothing is natural anymore so to pretend that by eating raw foods we are eating naturally is just fooling ourselves. That doesn't mean we go to the other extreme and eat a 100% junk food diet and use that as an argument. I sometimes liken the eating of raw fruits and raw and cook

How many raw gurus would film themselves eating 3 pizzas nonstop or pouring half a jar of white sugar into their water bottle? And I used to think there was no honesty in the raw food movement, but Harley proved me wrong. I think I might sign up to ' 30 pieces of pizza a day ', only problem is that after 4 slices I start to get full.
