well I wouldn`t take cod liver oil myself as fish oil isn`t actually good, it has lots of things you don`t want to take in and plant fats are soo much better and there are some lovely vegan omega supplements available now. If you want take a look at this article: I myself lean towards avos, nuts esp walnuts, olives, flax seeds, I don`t think we need a lot of it. It depends though, some p

I guess trying to always have a substitute for cooked cravings is the way to go...If you don`t have access to raw stores then try making your own recipes for various old favourites. For me sprouted tortillas ( not raw) really helps me as it really satisfies me and is quite healthy. It keeps me from bingeing on raw junk food ( too much fat, too many nuts etc..)

I think it would be good to first wean yourself off from animal products, then add one raw meal per day to your diet and then proceeding from there, only as you`re comfortable. It helps from going back and forth... "Fit for Life" is always a good choice for weaning oneself off animal products while adding fresh foods..

I just read a new article by PaulCacao: Not As Good As You’ve Been Lead To Believe. The latest and greatest “so-called” super food being promoted in the raw food world is raw chocolate, also known as cacao. I myself was excited when I first heard about it. But after trying it, I didn’t feel that great. I asked others how they felt after consuming cacao and there were no compla

I don`t think what David Wolfe did was right. It just shows us that although eating raw is great, it doesn`t automatically translate into a person having strong values and ethics... It doesn`t send the right message either, that you can copy someone else`s work and be let off simply because you are promoting raw.

rawmark..haha, I`m thinking hard-maybe dip them in some sort of raw mixture and dehdryate them? I modified a meaty fried green recipe into a vegan one and it was delish so maybe we can twist it further into a raw one!

Yes, I have found that engaging in small juice fasts are extremely helpful. I find it better than "true fasting" with or without water. Having a routine of doing a juice fast once a week in itself is lovely.

Is anyone planning to buy some of these new raw bars that Shazzie has thought up? I want to try it but like to have a few reviews before I buy anything!

I would be surprised if David really promoted that. He`s a passionate vegan or so I thought. Now of course we would eat insects in the wild and we still probably do without knowing it but it doesn`t sound appealing. David himself says that in his book " Sunfood Diet" I get plenty of protein so I`m not about to go eat them

I would say that it is hard to be with someone who has such vast differences unless of course love comes in the way and melts it all away But I think that it`s good to have atleast a few of the most important values in common for the relationship to progress in a way that satisfies you both. But do what you feel you want to do. It depends on whether you could live with the differences and if y

I also read that the having a pot belly whilst raw might mean that the body is not able to digest all the nutrients properly yet. When I heard about green smoothies I started out with a big amount ( despite Victoria`s warning) and found myself bloated. I decreased the amount and find that sometimes it`s important to start off eating less and slowly increase it as the strength of the body does.

Does anybody have any scientific matter to back up their approval or disapproval of hot peppers? I`ve been wondering the same myself.

Another problem with cacao is that most people need fat and some sort of sugar with it to have it. Yes we need fat, the " good fat" but raw foodists often eat too much of it. It`s funny how we want to be natural and then we eat 2 or 3 avos a day-wild avos are smalllllllll. I don`t think it`s natural or healthy to have so much access to fat such as almond butter, cashew butter etc.. Any

Hi all Thanks for your comments. I suppose the problem I have with products like cacao is that I am skeptical whether it`s really the nutrients or the money talking so I`d rather hear about it from people on here who are like me, being raw, experimenting etc or famous raw foodists that I reallt trust ( Victoria Bountenko and Jinjee/Storm...)

Hello all! I love this raw forum-so much wisdom and love! I`ve been wondering lately about the deal with cacao. I`ve heard a lot of negative comments about it that seem very logical. I can go so far as to say that in small quanities it`s okay and maybe even " healthy" but I`ve been hearing so much about how it`s the wonder food, supefood, how transforming it is blah blah blah I mean p
