My husband says people who promote these kinds of violent conspiracy theories don't really believe them. I used to disagree, giving people the benefit of the doubt that they were just misled by an unfortunate ideology... and maybe that's actually true for some. But for others, I think my husband is right. I call these kinds of conspiracy theories "violent", because these conspi

Today I went back to the fabric store to try to find more 1/4" elastic and some different color material for masks. No more elastic, and apparently no white elastic available to order. Black elastic comes in on Wednesday. It was way different today at the store than last time. Now there's a line going into the store, nearly all wearing homemade masks, men and women, young and old. All 6

Wow. Seems like a definite possibility. Could also be a possible set-up that a virus was deliberately unleashed by a foreign government in a place where a nearby micro lab could be blamed. Most people probably wouldn't have thought it could spread all the way back to them. I'm open to such possibilities. The one you mention Tai is definitely much easier to believe than any conspiracy the

Today I experienced a random act of kindness. I had to go to town today, and I was already inspired by the number of people wearing masks and gloves and keeping their distance. It was good. I was on my way to the health food store, stopping at the light before a left hand turn. Anyway, I thought I was stopped, but apparently not, since I thumped the car in front of me, pretty hard. We bot

I agree with Tai. David Wolfe says Covid-19 is less deadly than the common flu. Then he says it looks like the virus was intentionally released to crash the economy (and of course Bill and Melinda Gates have something to do with it too, as we can conclude due to their work to promote pandemic preparations prior to the outbreak). But we can fix it all if we get David Wolfe's app. Just for

I agree with Tai's advice! Just like to add that you might ask your primary physician to check you for amebas and other parasites (since these could sometimes cause heartburn). If you drink coffee, consider a trial without it. If you have peppermint tea, consider trial without it. And make sure to include sufficient exercise. Best wishes!

Then the doc says the virus is 1 billionth of a meter, and the n95 only filters to 1 millionth of a meter (or 1 micron). Wrong and wrong. The virus is out there in a droplet. Not by itself. It's in a droplet. The droplet could be as small as 1 micron. The n95 filters 95% of 0.3 micron test particles. But these are the couple of statements I landed on to get a sample. Considering the miss

So this "doctor" asks why, if this virus is so bad, why are we allowed to go to the supermarket, while we're supposed to stay at home to prevent spreading the disease. Oh, good point. We can all stay home and stop buying food. Guess he forgot, we all don't have our own cooks. Oh, food doesn't just originate in a person's kitchen? Then he says, if this virus is so bad, why aren't w

I remember when Dr. Trump told everyone we'd soon be down to zero cases. He definitely wasn't out there sounding the alarm. And he's still not wearing a mask. That's our establishment thinking, our "sheeple" thinking, for today. Trump's sheeple say it's all a democrat hoax to remove Trump from office. This global "panDEMic" (as it's been written), where people are dying all o

So there is need for those specific Koch postulates (from 1890, and rejected by Koch himself) to be used for proving infection/contagion? That's what I was referring to. Again, why? What is the need, and who specifically needs it?

Hey Riverhouse. In concurrence with Riverhouse: "Unlike today, there were no effective vaccines or antivirals, drugs that treat the flu. (The first licensed flu vaccine appeared in America in the 1940s..." On the other hand, many of the deaths may have been caused by doctors' advice to take (an overdose of) aspirin. _____________________________________________________

Infectious nature of alleged virus unproven... __________________________________________________________ So Fresh, nice that you find these postulates credible, since their purpose was to provide criteria for establishing a causative relationship

yeah, I don't think I'd want to listen to Dr. Trump either. The malaria drug may work, or may not and it may be better than dying. But there's a dosage involved, whether it works or not, and without adequate trials, there's no telling what dose and under what circumstances could be lethal.

Glad you're wearing a mask Anon! I wear a mask. My husband wears a mask, both homemade. We're using hand sanitizer from local health food store. Health-conscious people in my area are wearing masks. We only have 22 people infected so far where I live. Hope they all recover. Hope to have no more, but so far, it's a few more everyday. No one in the hospital yet that I'm aware of.

Hi Fresh. Not sure I understand your interpretation of "vector". A vector can be "an organism, typically a biting insect or tick, that transmits a disease or parasite from one animal or plant to another". The virus itself is not the vector. My reference to "vector" was intended in a general sense related to epidemics, not necessarily to Covid 19, as we're stil

Well, good question about animals avoiding epidemics. They don't of course. And then there are the epidemics that can transfer from other animals to humans. Plant species can suffer from epidemics also, especially when diversity is limited, like in the case of grafted species. "The American chestnut tree survived all adversaries for 40 million years, then disappeared within

Hi Tai. Thanks for your comments. And thank you for your invitation to the milk thread. I went there I think yesterday and found the article very interesting. There's so much we don't yet know about this virus. I did hear some "expert" on Hawaii Public Radio say that studies on COVID 19 indicate it's most often (if not always) transferred by droplets that enter and infect the lungs

This is a short fun tutorial on making a mask using just a bandana and hair ties. I would just recommend that instead of washing it, probably better to boil it. Also, instead of a bandana, a simple square of cotton (like from a T-shirt) might provide better protection. This next link includes a simple T-shirt design: just cut and go. I'd slip in the suggested paper towel though for

For a nose clip, you can slip a straightened plastic paperclip into a stitched-in casing. Or, try tying a cotton T-shirt around your face. One thing that's cool about cloth masks is that you can boil them for a couple of minutes, dry them, and use them again. Still you'll need to stay 6 feet away even with a mask, and stay home as much as possible.

"The fraction of undocumented but infectious cases is a critical epidemiological characteristic that modulates the pandemic potential of an emergent respiratory virus (3–6). These undocumented infections often experience mild, limited or no symptoms and hence go unrecognized, and, depending on their contagiousness and numbers, can expose a far greater portion of the population to virus

No need to "show contagious" to BE contagious. People without symptoms can be carriers and spread the disease. But Fresh, if you'd prefer not to believe this, please go your way, and I'll go mine. I'd just ask you to respect the 99.999999999999999999999% of people who don't agree with you, and keep your distance from them, especially if you're not taking any precautions to protect

90. Masks
Even though WHO says not to wear masks, others in healthcare are starting to say it might be a good idea. China and South Korea believe it's crucial. I agree. Yes there's a shortage for our health care workers who are risking and too often losing their lives. They should have the n19 and other masks available. A solution might be to make our own, and extra to give away if we can. 2 T-shir
