Good job Jennifer. Ignore the 2300 children whom we know have been separated from their parents - some of them still in diapers - and focus on the one who wasn't separated. "That should be the border stories here". That one story (out of 2300) should be the border storeees? Really? And I'm sure if you look hard enough you can find another 2 or 3. So since the story of 1 Mom has

Thought some of our nature lovers here might be interested in these pictures and short videos of the Big Island, where the volcano is coming out of a subdivision right now, plus sending up ash out of the main crater at Kilauea. I think the May 6 and May 8 videos are pretty incredible. It all started with just cracks in the road after a couple of days with a lot of earthquakes. People were k

Or, if the planet survives 4 whole years of this nut-case president/wanna-be dictator/swamp slurping slug, he can be indicted then. And maybe some of his swamp muck crew along with him. Lies tend to have a pretty short life-span (like for instance the one Trump told about his ignorance of the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels. That one lasted, what, a month?) Truth has much better endurance a

"Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein took aim Tuesday at Republican lawmakers who have drafted articles of impeachment against him, saying that he would not comment on documents 'that nobody has the courage to put their name on' and asserting that he will not change his behavior in the face of threats. 'I think they should understand by now that the Department of Justice is not goin

Conspiracies happen. Many are real. It seems to me that's pretty much indisputable. What troubles me is when people absolutely and passionately believe a conspiracy "theory", without adequate supporting evidence, and then pass it off as fact to others, regardless of any potential harm or hurt. Those believers now become a part of their own elite group with special knowledge t

Actually, I kinda think the Gandhi/Martin Luther King approach is pretty much all we have going for us anyway. Hard to imagine any scenario where citizens could really rise up and overcome the US military, even if everyone has an AR 15 rifle who wants it. In my opinion, our best assurance of maintaining our freedoms comes from supporting our free press and strengthening the vote. I'd love

Although of course I can't say for sure, I definitely tend to agree with you NuNativs that "We're no further along than the least of us"! As for defending our freedoms, I'm personally more into the Gandhi/Martin Luther King approach.

Hi John. I received your private message, and it will remain private if you wish. I couldn't send a response since your space was full, so my response is here: Hi John. I sincerely apologize if I ever accused you of hatred (years ago?). Not my place at all. Still forgive you though.

John as for my previous quote that you cited above, of course I still forgive you as I said at that time. I just don't think a respectable forum should allow the use of certain words, especially when calling people names, regardless of your own personal opinion of them. I would put such language in the "inflammatory" category, but then I would do the same with a lot of other stuff on

It seems to me that a respectable forum would not allow any post that includes one person calling another person an A word. I reported the post and asked if it's allowed here.

A few previous conspiracy theories promoted on this website: -Codex Alimentarius mandates that all food will be irradiated by 2009 (Never mind going to the Codex Alentarius website, and don't just read the standards for yourself). -All supplements will be illegal in one year (Codex Alimentarius blamed again). -All schools for natural healing will be closed by the following year. -Obama-era

Thank you for your response Tai. I'd never seen that list before on "How we save lives", and I agree it's reasonable. The articles you linked are so sad. I hope families with guns who read those articles will be sure to lock their guns away!

I respect John Rose's opinion. I think he means we should draw the line by interpreting "arms" to mean "firearms". That was also the opinion of a conservative supreme court on a 5-4 decision. But this also is negotiable, just like for instance the "separate but equal" supreme court ruling pre-civil rights. So does anyone else have an idea of where we should draw the

I agree with rawpracticalist that some things aren't negotiable - like murder. And I think the example given in raw practicalist's post provides a clear scenario where it's not just the person doing the damage. The type of weapon factors in as well.

OK. So with all that stuff about the bill of rights being "non-negotiable", and anyone who attempts to negotiate it is an enemy of America and should move to North Korea and all, somehow the word " arms" got CHANGED in the above interpretation to "firearms", which of course has a completely different and much more restrictive meaning. See ya in North Korea. Oh wa

Regardless of anyone's interpretation of the 2nd Amendment, I think most of us are aware of the FACT that there were absolutely no AR-15s anywhere on the planet when our 2nd Amendment was written. I think it's fair then to conclude that none of us really know how the 2nd amendment would have been written if today's weapons had been around. Whatever the case, if YOU were writing the 2nd A

No. These kids are real. Really real. I got to watch the TV coverage just at the end, but caught some great stuff. "Shine" - a song written for the event - was awesome. All these kids are awesome. And Jennifer Hudson - who lost her mother, brother, and nephew to gun violence in 2008 - she was incredible, singing Dylan's, "The times they are a-changing". Makes me think

Just kidding. Not funny though, I know. But for real, might be a good thing to have a few more common-sense gun laws. Like background checks for gun shows. And like regulating magazine capacity give potential victims a chance to escape or even overcome a shooter. The issue is not the "right to bear arms". It's where do we draw the line? Does anyone think nuclear weapons shoul
