Oh Arugala....I love you!!! That is an awesome idea! I just got an auger type juicer and I have a freezer full of coconut meat. My last coconut delivery was more on the mature side and I didn't know what to do with all of the meat. I mean I can make coco-noodles etc, but I have the meat from 25-30 coconuts to figure out something to do with. Coconut butter here I come. Thanks,

Hi Stoner, I wouldn't give up on beets. They can be delicious in juice and shredded into salad. Eating a whole chunk plain might be too much for some people. If you want some "beet inspiration" read the first chapter of Tom Robins Jitterbug Perfume. He goes on a wonderfully poetic rant about beets and I've always had a profound love of them ever since reading it. Peace

Hi Claire, I also struggled with out of balance serotonin levels that I think were due to over 25 years of very chronic weed smoking. I took a supplement called 5HTP which really seemed to help a lot. I don't think it's anything that needs to be taken for a prolonged period of time. I would do it for two months and then stop for 4-5 months. I think it helps your brain get back into seroton

Suvine, I understand what you are trying to say, but I suggest that you read up on the latest developments in quantum physics. The strict mechanistic view of the universe is quickly falling apart. There is no "reality" outside of our own consciousness. There is no such thing as "objective" reality because it is impossible to remove ourselves, as the observer, from the

It's actually the fruit of a certain kind of palm tree. some times you can get "wet" dates at the store which, in my opinion, are so much better tasting than the dried ones. I think they're in season now.

Arugala, You always have such amazingly thorough information. What is the danger with high methionine intake? It was recommended once that I take L-methionine as a supplement. Thanks

Yeah, that was a completely unbiased article...NOT. Funny how the author constantly uses terms like "warmist propaganda machine" and "warmist orthodoxy" yet he is just spewing the same flawed science and talking points that are being generated by the fossil fuel industries. Authors like this like to cling to the term "global warming" instead of "global climate

Aloha, I've thought quite a bit about the "emotional opening up" that seems to come with fasting and cleansing. As I am in the middle of a 30 day cleanse right now, this dynamic is very present in my life. When I ate SAD, I was a big-time emotional eater. Like many people, when I would get upset, depressed, angry, etc, I would eat highly fatty "comfort foods" to deaden t

I did it! I went for it and bought a juicer yesterday (Omega8003). I sprouted some wheat and barley last night and I bought some vacuum packed wheat-grass to use until I can harvest my own. Last night I made about 4oz of juice...delish! No problem getting to sleep either. This morning I made a super green juice of wheat-grass, parsley, cilantro, kale and lime... ended up with about 10-12oz..

The only beans that I think should be sprouted are, lentils, mung, aduki, green peas and sometimes chick peas. This is my opinion. I think all of the larger beans are either toxic or at least not very tasty.

Aloha, my body really seems to enjoy wheatgrass, but I don't know if any one food could ever take the title of "the supreme food" as we are all different. I think that you could get by without it pretty easily if you are eating a balanced raw diet. I think that the juice loses it's life force soon after juicing (i've heard 30 minutes), so fresh will always be better than powdered,

Good morning Butterfly and Frances, I'm moved that you were inspired to try Turmeric from something I said. It's still part of my daily routine... although I did stop for about 4 days, but I missed it dearly. I now buy my fresh Turmeric at the health food store. I didn't want to dig too much from my special spot. The fresh stuff at the store is locally grown, but since Turmeric is very sim

Ah, Thanks guys, We used to grow that on a farm I worked on in Vermont and we called it Cape Gooseberry. Almost looks like a little yellow Tomatillo. I think they are all in the same plant family. Thanks again.

I enjoy those kelp noodles although i don't have them as often as i used to. My favorite sauce for them is tahini-ginger with a bit of miso and agave (i know...questionably raw, but hey, I'm in transition right?) They are yummy, but have absolutely no flavor by themselves.

Hi Svakanda, I know you mean well, but this is specifically a vegan forum. ...and in my personal experience, even when I ate SAD/Junk, dairy was the last thing I would ever do if I had a cold or flu. I feel like it is one of the least cleansing substances for my body... congestion, inflammation, fatigue and just overall nastiness. ...just my experience.

Hi RawLoveBaby, i just started doing "dry brushing" twice a day as part of a 30 day cleanse and my skin feels amazing and alive. Here is a great site that lists many benefits and in depth instructions on dry brushing. I can't recommend this enough. It's only been 4 days, morning and night for about 10 minutes, but the change is unreal! Have fun!

Hi Tea, Congrats on taking the first step. I would suggest reading through as many of these threads as you can stand. Read the articles that are linked on the homepage. You will soon realize that the way to succeed is highly individual. Set small goals. Find the healthy raw foods that you love and start eating more of them. Pay attention to how you are feeling and adjust your plan if nee

...stoner, you are wise beyond your years! I would add to the emotion/spirituality vs rationalism debate: Who is the final arbiter of what constitutes a "fact". Facts are just an agreed upon illusion. You can do experiments that "prove" that light is a particle, and you can do experiments that "prove" that light is a wave. These are both "facts" th

I wish I could rename this thread "I am so happy with where I am on this journey and I am at peace with my cholesterol levels!" I am going to continue what I've been doing with the addition of my "spring cleaning" cleanse. This 30 day guided cleanse wasn't really motivated by my choles
