Journalists! I have yet to see them report a story accurately. This is no exception. Do you go to HHI for massages? Oh, I see. And Peter Mansbridge, the anchor, sounds so relieved that Connie Walker, the reporter, is now back safely here in Canada. What drama! Oh the dangers of sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. For the camera, they feigned horrified dismay but off camera, you can

Within the first minute or so of the video, did anyone pick up on Tavis saying that Prickly Pears are a source of Vitamin B12? If I heard him right, he said "amazing amounts of B12 and Vitamin C".That's news to me. Is he right about that?

My harcore, raw food friends, the rabbits, got into my kale garden but it didn't matter and I learned a lesson or two from them. Lesson 1 - You don't need to eat the stems. They strip the stem of the leaves and leave the rest. Of course they do. The stem is primarily cellulose. Who needs it? The cellulose might be beneficial to someone on a low fiber diet who needs to move the gunk out

The last cooked food I ate was on May 24th, 2012. I don't remember what it was or how it made me feel. I've been 100% raw in the past and then slowly returned to cooked food and I can't say eating some cooked food made me feel any different, per se. In fact, what I did notice is that my quality of health did not just promptly plummet, but instead, slowly declined over several years until I kn

There are lots of great comments here. The one I think I like the most is coconutcream's "Cooked food is disgusting. Do not ever forget that." When you see it that way, you won't have any cravings. Cooked food is disgusting; it looks dead, it looks like it's had the living daylights kicked right out of it. Right now, you're in a spiritual transition and as your consciousness grows a

coconutcream, you said you didn't know that Seventh-day Adventists were interested in raw food. I hadn't thought so. Remember Brian Lucas, owner of Organica and Daniele Watts of Django Unchained? They got harrassed in L.A. for loving each other too much in public. I was just reading an article online about them. At the bottom of the article, it says they were both raised in Seventh-day

SueZ, durian can be found in Asian grocery stores and can be bought as fresh or frozen. Frozen is cheaper and I don't know why. Maybe your defraying the cost of those fresh ones that will rot before they're sold. Here in Canada, I can expect to pay $40 to $50 for fresh durian and $15 to $25 for frozen. Maybe it sounds a little expensive but there's a lot of rich eating for your money...

"Can You Write Down a List of What I Should Eat"? I get this question frequently from people who want to transition to a raw regime. It happened again today. I never have ever done it for anyone who asked because I don't come with a plan. Any suggestions? This is someone I haven't seen for a long time who once was influenced by me to go raw and did it for several months. Today

For me, there is no in-between. I`m an all or nothing person. I have been raw since 1997 but have fallen off the wagon several times. Having a little cooked food, for me, has been my undoing each time. Years ago, when I was posting to this bulletin board, I said I was beginning to eat a little cooked food. Someone posted to me saying that I was on a slippery slope. THEY WERE RIGHT!

I'm a big believer in the momentum of significant dates and I've made many life changes on my birthday as well as the new year. For me, this year I have decided to plant more seeds, juice more, rollerblade, ski, bike more regularly. Get back to the weights and daily yoga and occasional fasting too. Coconutcream, thanks for sharing! I think I'll incorporate some of your resolutions

Thanks TSM and Coconutcream for your directions. I will be giving it a go a.s.a.p. I've been using chia seeds in my flax crackers. Typically, I don't use any grain products but in the winter in this cold climate, this is my one grain source. I dehydrate crackers of soaked chia, soaked whole flax seeds and flax flour. The soaked seeds make the crackers crunchy. It looks like the next

Great pics Rawgosia, Coconutcream and TSM. TSM, how do you make that sprouted Chia seed milk? It looks SO good. I know I want some. Today's cuisine? It's been a very vegetable day. I went out twice with friends and family to restaurants. I ate before and after because it's about the people not the food and I knew I wouldn't get either the quality or the quantity of food I like. We went t

Well isn't this an interesting topic! How to become a rawfooder. I feel as you do La_Veronique that you could just go cold turkey and get the job done. That is how I have done it and for me, that works. I first went raw in 1997 and since then, I have influenced several people, probably around 15 or so, to give it a try. They have met with varying degrees of success. Of all of them, only t

I was reading about Father Yod about six weeks ago or so. I tried to find the film online but it wasn't there for free. I'd never heard of The Source Family before. Father Yod was bigger than life. He died in Hawaii as he crashed a hang glider. I think that's him in the doorway. By the way, I was at RAWvolution back in August and they had the best Almond-durian drink I could ever hope for!

I would like to comment to some of this lively discussion between you and SueZ, John but I am tapping this out on my phone and furthermore, at this moment, time doesn't allow. As an innocent bystander though, in considering the studies of Dr. Vitrano with a DC, MD, PhD, HD when compared to a research scientist, I'll favor the scientist. John, I admire your confidence in your health. In

O.K. So this is kind of how it goes. If there were a pandemic, the first round of vaccines would go to nurses and doctors who are working the front lines. I don't think I'm the most gullible guy in the world but I sincerely don't believe in some sinister plot to first infect the front line workers through vaccinations. And then once the front line is destroyed, who can work to protect a

I believe enough in ebola to not want to come in contact with it. But then again, would I, as a rawfooder, be susceptible? After all, I am healthier than my friends. Well, this is what I think about that. Yes, I could. I have been completely raw for a total of more than five years, and most recently for just a month short of two and a half years. And I would like to think when it comes to
