Keep in mind that people here say that this is the lightning capital of the world. I have no idea if this is true, but in the summer the storms can get scary and the news always records the number of lightning strikes on a map that shows lots and lots. Remember, hurricanes do come here, although there hasn't been a direct hit in many years. I think the last was 1985. I am originally from the Chic

Hello and welcome to our area! I came here from San Diego and now live in Redington Shores. There are two raw food restaurants near me: Vida De Cafe in Pass A Grille and Leafy Greens in St Pete. There is an organic coop that is very popular in Tampa: Sweetwater Organic Farm. Here is the URL You can grow pretty much anything here and it's not difficult. Having come from California where I had 5 a

I was at a talk at my local health food store that Doug Graham gave and asked him specifically about B12. "As a raw vegan, what should I do to ensure that I am getting enough B12 so that I do not become deficient?" He first replied that this was an excellent question. His next response was this: "Children often pick their nose and eat it. There is B12 in our nasal cavities." T

Brush, floss, then brush again after every meal and before bed and visit your dentist twice yearly for a good cleaning and checking. Dentists, brushing, and flossing aren't evil. Trust me, I use all of the above and have great teeth and I am in excellent health. Your mouth is a doorway to bacteria that can cause heart attacks and inflammation. Be especially diligent if you are eating nuts, they c

My sister had a lump in her throat feeling and it turned out to be reflux. If you have it, perhaps then follow what your doctor told you about what not to eat in the evenings and so forth. Love always, Melissa

They do have plastic attachments for their dough hooks and beaters but the BLADES are huge and very sharp metal. I would recommend extreme caution. There are 2 blades... one for the bowl and one for the pitcher, not interchangeable. Hope this helps Melissa

I use sublingual B12 from Vitamin World 2500 mcg daily. It is the Cyanocobalamin that Mislu states is inferior. It works for me and yes, it is very inexpensive. Due to the fact that it is 41,667% of what a person needs per day, I am fairly confident that enough is being absorbed. I have read that you can't overdose on B12 so I am not concerned about the high percentage of the daily value. I feel

I really love the consistency. You have to remove the locking lid and re-mix the contents sometimes but overall it's pretty smooth. It's nothing like a magic bullet. There are two containers... a large pitcher and then a bowl. There are two seperate blades and two seperate lids that lock down before the motor will operate. If you stick the wrong lid on, the blender won't run. The blades are huge

I recently got a Ninja 100 kitchen system. 159 bucks and worth every penny. The only downside is that the blades are so sharp and massive, it's dangerous to leave in the dishwater. You really have to be proactive about keeping them out of the reach of children or unsuspecting family members. I make raw soups, smoothies, frozen concoctions, everything. Look it up, I think that this is the best inv

My husband got me one quite some time ago and I really like it. It really extracts the juice, it's easy to clean, and you can throw huge amounts of stuff in at once. It was free, use the heck out of it!!!

Hi I take B12 every day and it has one side effect worth noting. I live in Florida where mosquitos can be a nuisance, getting into the house and biting me in my sleep or when I am trying to sit outdooors at night. I noticed that my neighbor never got mosquito bites and he told me that it was due to the fact that he takes sublingual B12 every day. He even sleeps outside at night in an area that i

When I lived in California, it was so much easier to get organic produce than here in Florida's Gulf Coast. It cost at least 4 times as much. It's frustrating and I have had to use co-ops, farmers markets, sales, etc. I am sure that there are better places in the US than California, but Florida definitely is a lot suckier

Hi la_veronique, I opened the second link from this page but it took a bit longer than usual, so at least I know it's working although I don't know how helpful it will be, it is just basic information. snehag, Yes, if there was only a therapy for improving procrastination I think many people would be so much more successful, including ME!!! Hello~ I would like to first say that the people on here who are experiencing brain damage are excellent writers, so please honestly give yourself props for that. Some people who are pretty sure of their intelligence are not as good at communicating as you are. Here is one specific resource that I used for my daughter when I lived in California: Dr Susan Daniels is an an absolute angel and

Hi! It is awesome that you are eating properly in order to improve the damage that was done when you were young. There are also physical exercises that will help your synapses hook up properly. Kinesthetic exercises and eye exercises will help re-train your brain. In a study that I read recently, it has been discovered that despite popular belief, brain cells do regenerate albeit slowly. Hello ~ I have read that hydrogen peroxide is very good for rinsing out your mouth UNLESS you have fillings. The peroxide reacts with the fillings and releases mercury into the mouth and the blood stream. Melissa Halsted

Hi! I am in Florida too. We have tons of co-ops in Florida on both coasts. I am on the west side. Just go into google and look up veggie co-ops. There aren't any health food stores in my immediate area and the regular stores here don't carry much in the way of organic fruits and vegetables and what they do have are extremely overpriced. The co-ops I belong to have really good organic produce and

Hello~ I just wanted to say that I never had any problems with wheatgrass and then the same thing happened to me. I ordered a shot at the health food store and I felt so nauseated afterword. I tried it again just to make sure there wasn't something wrong with the wheatgrass at the first health food store and I got so sick to my stomach. NOW, whenever I smell fresh mowed grass, which I use to LO

Hi DNS! I applaud your effort with your stepchildren. I believe that eveything you did was 100% correct. I have a friend with a son who has just been diagnosed as having "symptoms consistent with ADHD" and I have told her to follow that exact regimine you described. I believe that it takes a whole lifestyle change and a lot of parents are not willing to fall out of their comfort zone,

Hi guys! I started getting grey hair in 6th grade, kids would pull my greys out quite frequently in school and later, the traders at the Chicago Board Options Exchange where I worked when I was in my 20's. I have read that it has been discoved that the reason a person's hair turns grey is, because over time, the enzyme CATALASE becomes deficient. This is an enzyme that neutralizes hydrogen peroxi

Hey Kelly, When I go out to eat, I do have a lot of salads. I have found that at buffets there is usually a raw fruit section and a salad section. They usually serve nuts also. There are sauces that can make those things more palatable if you are not that strict about those things yet. I enjoy dressing up my plate and it always makes my friend's or family's dinners look pretty uninteresting in c

Hello, I nursed my little boy until he was two years old. In the time that he was breast-fed, he never developed any illness whatsoever. That was amazing because the two older children that I have would come home from school with all kinds of illnesses and get in his face. Nursing an older child is really a labor of love because it is inconvenient and uncomfortable most of the time for the mom.

Also, sometimes the source of the fruit flies will be in a place least expected. We had an abundance of fruit in the house and with it came a whole lot of fruit flies. They just wouldn't go away and I discovered that the source of the problem was a cooler hiding behind a shelf with a banana in it forgotten from the last beach episode. Sometimes it pays to look for a hidden dwelling place. This ma
