Giving the diet a try to see if it could personally have an impact is the best way to determine what does or does not work on an individual basis. As in most cases, the outcome is much more favorable than what we expected.

Links to before and afters from Rhio's site. I was browsing through publications at a HFS and came across The Joy of Living Live by Zakhah. Towards the back the book were a number of examples of successful raw foodists, most I never even heard of as they aren't in the limelight in the raw community.

Some in the raw food movement include generous amounts of mushrooms in their recipes while others feel that they are not healthy since at least some species feed on decaying matter. I don't remember seeing them incorporated in recipes based on 8/1/1 or Natural Hygiene principles. Any opinions for or against including mushrooms in a raw/live food diet?

One thing I noticed was that several of the appliances they used were not dependent on electricity. During periods of power outages, such as during or after storms, then their value can truly be appreciated since they wouldn't interfere with their routine.

On the occasions I carry beverages such as smoothies, I either add ice or prepare them with frozen fruit and carry it in an insulated container such as a small thermos. This way hours later when I'm drinking it, the will still be chilled
