Im into square foot gardening. Its so simple. Costs a bit to set up, then very easy to maintain. No digging, easy weeding and watering. Sit back and watch it grow! Excellent results year after year. This year i grew all of my herbs, tomatoes, courgettes, spinach, several varieties of beans, peas, rainbow chard, beetroot, carrots, lettuce and lots of sunflowers. ffx

I cant eat bananas at the moment. I tried one this morning after leaving them alone for weeks. It tasted like uncooked pastry to me! Both the taste and the texture was just wrong. It was disgusting! I had to spit it out. It feels quite strange not to be eating bananas. I don't even think i could manage banana in a smoothie. Like others have said, you just have to go with what your body is

Hellokitty How are you approaching a raw vegan diet? Is it something that you wish to embrace as a positive route to better health and well being? Is it something that you feel forced into because nothing else has worked for you? From your posts i have come to recognise that you appear to be sabotaging any success that you gain by not focusing on what works for you. This is not a critic

Hi suncloud I came across this recently whilst researching for a nutrition qualification. The idea is that several chronic conditions have been attributed to systemic inflammation. Systemic inflammation can be detected by sampling blood. As i understand it, its about the production of prostaglandins. These are chemicals that have both an inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effect on the body

Many of my colleges know and think that i have lost the plot! They found out through others, not by my telling them first hand. I was quite diplomatic at first, but these days i don't even bother getting anywhere near a debate with them. Upon reflexion, i would probably have kept it to myself, but it was difficult in the early days, when i was struggling with staying raw. I had this st

Blending is the closest process to consuming the whole as it contains both juice and fiber. There can be no argument about that. sixx

juicin' john Cleaning 1 juicer is quite enough for me! As i often mix the fruit that i process and add veggies, im looking for 1 machine that will just do the job. The twingear works fine for me. As regards pineapple, using the fruit screen it will juice as quickly as any other fruit in my machine. No problem. I appreciate your concern about worms. The dogs are wormed on a regular b

mysbenson Thanks for your invitation to answer my questions. juicin' john pineapples, citrus and apples were what i had in mind. I just like to have a bit of variety when juice feasting, it helps me overcome those difficult days. If i leave the screw attachment off my juicer, then it will easily juice several large pineapples and citrus, more than i require in 1 session. The pulp obvio

I started eating raw in 2004. various breaks along the way. I have a dehydrator but have not used it for years. 'uncooking' complicated recipes did not suit me ( time wise or my digestion) I have switched back to raw in the depth of winter. It was fine. I eat mainly fruit. I just eat whatever I'm into at the time. I juice and blend a lot so invested in a twin gear juicer and a vitamix. I foun

Hellokitty I know that it would be possible for you to do this by yourself or with help from the people here on this board. However, have you considered finding yourself a raw food coach? You could work together to set some realistic and achievable targets or goals. It may help you just now to focus on advice from a decent coach in order to enable you to find your way. ffx
